�Russell,� she answered, and Danny watched as her face became twisted with concern. �Okay, we�ll meet you there,� she told the caller, then pressed the off button.

�What�s up?� Danny looked concerned.

�Denby ... uh, he�s in a standoff with SWAT at the Citiwide Couriers warehouse. They�re calling him armed and dangerous. Ballistics matched the bullet that killed the Williams couple in the bar to a gun registered to him.�

�Didn�t he have to turn in all his weapons when they suspended him?�

�Well, he turned in his service revolver and badge. Beyond that, who knows? He could have a whole arsenal,� Diane gritted her teeth.

�What was he doing at Citiwide?�

�Working.�

�What was he doing working? Wasn�t he in the wind?�

�Well, maybe he already popped the guy he was chasing in the hospital,� Diane said, racking her brain to understand why Harry would be hiding in plain sight. She made a call to see if anyone had picked up any male Hispanics, mid-20�s, in the last few days, dead or alive. John went on a searching mission while Diane and Danny proceeded to the warehouse.

DEA Agent Carlos Siquieros paced around outside the door to the employee lounge, trying to decide how to enter the room. He was an attractive man; short, slightly overweight, and in his late-40�s, by the look of his full head of black hair sprinkled with the occasional gray strands. His heavy navy blue jacket had the huge letters DEA stenciled in gold on his back, and he wore a matching baseball cap, bill to the front. SWAT team members were positioned strategically so they could immobilize the rogue ex-cop if he dared to set foot outside of the lounge. Finally, he decided to blitz the room with SWAT members bearing bulletproof shields. He had seen what looked like a pistol in Harry�s hand when he fled the dispatch room, so he wasn�t taking any chances.

Siquieros gave the order, the door banged open, and several officers outside the room winced in anticipation of the hail of bullets they expected. The SWAT team members pointed their guns every which way and tentatively entered the room. Officers outside the room heard the cabinet doors and refrigerator door bang open as the SWAT team searched for Denby. He was gone.
