Confederate Marker of the Month
Graves of Southern Soldiers
May & June 2005
Old Berryville Cemetery, now Pioneer Park in Berryville
This is a grave of a Unknown Confederate Soldier that was killed by a man named Chrysop, of the Missouri State Militia, while he was acting as a hospital attendant.  He was killed and buried on the edge of the Old Berryville Cemetery, and remained in a unmarked grave from 1862  to May 21, 2005.  Members of the Military Order of the Stars & Bars, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Carroll County Historical Society, placed his stone, as well as 13 Union soldiers markers, all from the 2nd Arkansas Cavalry, who were also in their final resting place, with unmarked graves.
