Character Education Emphasis
Educators are seeing the need to teach two additional "R's"

Respect and Responsibility

Character Education, which will be taught in the classrooms, includes self-discipline, kindness, respect, responsibility, perseverance, good judgement, integrity, and courage.  Each of these traits is directly related to respect and responsibility.  These traits are essential if students are to be equipped with the proper skills for adulthood.  Hiddenite Elementary will recognize students exhibiting these values.

If you have suggestions or ideas for teaching these character traits, you are encouraged to talk to teachers or the school principal.  Remember that children must have good role models if they are to successfully grasp and incorporate these traits into their lives.
