Bus Drivers
It is very important that each driver is able to concentrate on safely driving the school bus instead of correcting inappropriate behavior. Drivers will be strict and consistent with discipline on the bus to ensure the safety of all bus riders. Please encourage your child to follow the driver's instructions and obey all safety rules. Specifically important are the following: 1. Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and for the bus driver's signal before loading the bus. 2. Stay in your assigned seat and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before standing to exit the bus. 3. Stay in your assigned seat and face the front of the bus. 4. Do not sit on top of books or other items in the bus seat. 5. Listen to the bus driver's directions and remember that riding the bus is a privilege. 6. Keep all arms, books, etc. inside the bus window. 7. Keep hands, feet, and articles to oneself. 8. 9. If a student needs to ride a different bus home, or get off at a stop other than usual... * Parent needs to send a request in writing * student must receive a bus pass from the office
CONDUCT & SAFETY
Inappropriate behavior by students is not allowed Parents should review with their child the importance of following rules and listening to the bus driver. The drivers will be using the following discipline plan: 1st call down - Warning to Student 2nd call down - Consequence from Driver (No talking, Seat isolation, Writing assignment) 3rd call down - Office Referral Students referred to the office for inappropriate bus behavior will receive the consequences that are discussed in the student discipline handbook. Please review the handbook with your child, sign the letter, and return the letter to your child's teacher. Inappropriate behavior such as fighting, hitting, using vulgar language, and being disrespectful to the bus driver will automatically result in a suspension from the bus for a determined amount of days.
