| A little about me... My college education began at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I pursued a degree in Elementary Education. During college, my working experience led me to become interested in business studies. I combined the two interests and graduated with a BS in Business Education from Appalachian State University. After teaching for a few years, I was accepted into the North Carolina Principal Fellows program and attained a Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My love for learning then led me to pursue an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Appalachian State University. My husband is David and we have a precious baby boy, Austin. We also have a little girl with a wet nose, perky ears, and a long tail. Her name is Kasie and she is always waiting by the door for us to come home and play. I especially enjoy spending time with my family. We like most all outdoor activities, working in the yard, fishing, and a great day on the golf course. Working at Hiddenite has been a wonderful experience these past few years. Our school has an inviting and caring environment where we call ourselves a family. | A little about me... My name is Rosanna Whisnant. I am married to Doug Whisnant who is employed by Duke Energy in Hickory, NC. I have been blessed with twin boys, Conner and Turner. We have a Golden Retriever named Buddy. Alexander County has been my home for several years and I absolutely love the community of Hiddenite. It is my belief that the people of Hiddenite are truly "precious gems" handmade by God. I feel honored to be given the opportunity to work with the children of Hiddenite. My educational experience began with my graduation from Lord Botetourt High School in Botetourt County Va. In 1985, I attended Radford University where I attained a Bachelors Degree in Art Education. I then gained my Elementary Education Certification at East Carolina University in 1992. I now have a Masters of Administration from Appalachian State University. I have been teaching since 1989 and intend to stay in education for as long as Alexander County will have me! |
