Experiment: Changing a liquid into a solid by adding heat. After making ice cream, our class made pancakes to watch a liquid turn into a solid again, but this time with the addition of heat. Another YUMMY experiment! Mrs. Wallace, our assistant, was a tremendous help, and a good cook too!

During our study of solids, liquids and gases, our class made ice cream!
It was easy to do! Here are the directions incase you want to do this at home:
Fill the gallon size baggie with the ice and salt. Fill the quart size baggie with the remaining ingredients. Be careful not to put the salt in the quart size baggie! Zip the quart size baggie tightly and place it inside the gallon size baggie. Let the air out of the gallon size baggie and zip tightly. Roll the top of the baggie down and shake for several minutes (5-10). When your milk begins to feel more solid, take the small baggie out and wipe the salt off the outside. Grab a spoon and enjoy!
You will need: 2 Ziploc baggies- one quart size and one gallon size 1 cup of milk- vitamin D works best 1/8 tsp of vanilla extract- put very little! 3 tbsp salt 4 cups ice 1 tbsp sugar
