Contained herein are some of the songs I've written. (Hold the applause) Since most musicians won't work for free, I played all the intruments and sang all the vocal parts.
The upside to this is that everything sounds exactly the way I want it to sound.
The downside is that I can't blame anyone else if it sucks.
Oh well...life is about taking chances. I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't made some tough choices along the way. (Paper or plastic? Chocolate or vanilla? Mary Ann or Ginger?)
But the fun is in the playing after all. I would urge anyone who has ever wished they played music to act on that impulse. It's never "too late" either. If you are age 70 you might say it's too late because it would take 5 years to learn how to play guitar. (It wouldn't take that long really)
My response would be: In 5 years you will be 75. You can either be a 75 year old who plays guitar or a 75 year old who doesn't play guitar. You're going to be 75 either way. Go for it! What have you got to lose?
Thought for the day/week/month: What if the secret to happiness is to avoid puberty? Is anyone ever as happy as they were before puberty? But...we would have far fewer songs to sing without all the issues puberty brings to us. Maybe there is a balance to the universe after all...
