Female in SUB-CONTINENT Oh lorn, a female is born On their birth their father’s mourn And mother’s eyes, are filled with tears; For now their life is full of fears, Of brought up and of motherhood For only sons, they want to brood Rules are set for them to obey Brought up they are in a religious way She’s welcomed in her husband’s house With lots of money, and few sets of blouse If she is poor, she is oppressed And thus, spends her life depressed If she bears a female child She is unduly pressed And if, by chance it’s a male child She is upheld and caressed But as the sons grow old and gray Mother is told to sit aside and prey
