Pashto Philosopher
Poets
Rahman Baba

Rahman Baba is undoubtedly the Master of Masters. Because of the
vastness and the depth of his teachings, no matter how much one says about
Rahman Baba, it's never enough. Rahman Baba has an amazing ability to send his
message deep down into the soul of one's being, through the most simple ideas
which can be understood by the literate and the iliterate alike. His teachings
take the form of art, since one not only understands what he teaches but also
feels it.
Khushal Khan Khattak

The not so soft writings of Khushal Khan Khattak must inspire us in a
profound way, (even though some other Pashto philosophers hold a much higher
degree of deep understanding of the natural and the super-natural) since he was
materialistic and earthly, he in totality co-responds to the majority of us
materialists. He taught us not to bow to anyone when our nation or culture were
at issue. He taught us (by example) not to shy away from the greatest of odds
against us. He also taught us to be conscious of the fact that we the Afghan or
Pashtoon nation have our traditions so deeply embedded within us, that it is the
driving force for the lot of us, of superior determination and decidedness, of
not to settle for anything less than our absolute capacity, known to Khushal
Khan Khattak as "Shaheen".
Maaz Ullah Khan

Mazullah Khan is not as famous as Rahman Baba or
Khushal Khan Khattak, but a very weighty depth can clearly be seen in his
writings, which have been published not quite long ago. He has also written in
Persian (Farsi) and a little bit in, what seems to me as old Urdu. Some facts
are known about his life and the time of his presence on earth, (about two
gerenations or so after Rahman Baba and that he also was from the Momand tribe)
but most of it is vague. As far as his philosophical ideology is concerned, I
can say with absolute certainty that it is of a very high level and deserves
serious study.
