Today is Thursday, February 17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAROLD! I attempted to post this birthday greeting
early this morning, but AOL was having technical difficulties. I'll be travelling to visit with
Harold in a few days, and to accompany our mother during her doctor's visit. Today was a hard day for
all of us. My birthday prayer for Harold is for a speedy recovery. Blessings to you all today.
Today is Wednesday, February 16. Yesterday I posted a message in the "Guest Book" area of this web site that I will post again here in hopes that if you don't normally read my "Guest Book," you'll find it interesting: Dear Friends, Thank you all for writing, and for being patient with me. I've just begun to emerge from the remains of one of the busiest times of the year for my profession: the Nielsen ratings period ("sweeps"). To complicate matters even more, I've been traveling from NYC to PA to visit with a very sick mother and a brother recovering from a severe head injury, and holding meetings here in NYC to begin my foundation to benefit coma victims and their families. Thankfully, both my mother and brother are improving, and I thank you all for responding so positively to this message area. I will attempt to briefly comment on some of your thoughts. The Harris family: Thank you for those kind words and for your continued support! Karol Wiser: I just updated this site today and I have great news that Harold is actually reading from flash cards. We will add your brother in Johnstown to our prayer concerns, and please come back to keep us posted of any progress. Don't give up! Ben and Michelle Burkhart: A spaghetti supper?! Sounds like a great idea. Harold's church must be planning a fund-raiser. I've been buried in work here in NYC, and haven't been to PA in about seven days, but I'll try to get more information so I can pass it along to you. Thanks for your generous offer. Becky: And Andy is lucky to have you standing by his side. That's a very important role also. Don't give up hope, and don't forget to take care of yourself as well. Andy needs you to remain strong and alert, not just for him, but for you. Paul Patrick: Thank you for your prayerful support. Gloria Bronson: I'm thrilled that you came to the web site and left with something you didn't have before, that's exciting! Thanks for your kind words and blessings to you as you enter the field of nursing. Shannon, Doug and Brad Groff: Thank you for remembering our family during your services at Christiana Methodist Church. I hope to attend this weekend with my nephew Matthew. He told me you have an early service which works great for me because when I'm in PA for the weekend, I unfortunately leave Sundays for NYC quite early and end up having to miss the service at Christiana Mennonite Church. Hope to see you soon! Linda Stankiewicz: Thank you for your continued support. I'm glad you find this web site helpful and I'll update it again in the near future. Blessings to you all! Today is Tuesday, February 15. Harold continues to improve at home. The family is discussing perhaps continuing his therapy at home, with the help of professional home health care workers. Harold is beginning to read from flash cards which is wonderful progress. Mother is still recovering from a blood clot in her leg that we were originally told was an infection. It's been quite a week, but we hope this week shows continued improvement for both my mother and Harold. I'll post another update as soon as I have one. |
