| Today is Tuesday, December 7. I had a great visit with Harold on Sunday. We went for a nice long walk and enjoyed watching a football game on television together. Harold recognized me right away, and immediately called me by my nickname (M.E.) several times. He seemed very, very happy to see me. The thing I really try to focus on right now is that although Harold has a long way to go mentally, I don't know that he's aware of that fact, and truly seems to be quite content. He doesn't always enjoy the rigors of therapy, and frequently gets tired or a little irritable, but other than that, he seems in great spirits. These emotions he's evoking are all in line with his injury. Having a head injury causes the patient to tire very easily and require lots of extra sleep, even during the day. When he's tired, he's easily frustrated, but that's all part of his illness which is just going to require continued healing. Harold is happy and is getting the best possible care any patient with his type of injuries can obtain. We'll continue on in faith, hope, love and prayer. Thanks for all your kind support. |
