12. CONCLUSION:
‘The Management Of Water’
1. The ships should do roof top water collection as most of the precipitation falls over the oceans.
2. We should design smaller dams, more in numbers for the storage of flowing water and set up smaller Hydro power plants to feed the local need.
3. Centralized planning for water is must where various departments (Irrigation, Jal nigam, Vidyut nigam, Hydro power plants, Agriculture, Municipalities, Develpoment Authorities, Pollution Board, Forest Department) should work in co-operation with each other.
4. National level seminars should be conducted where various professionals like Town Planners, Architects, Engineers, Scientists, Hydrologists, and Geologists, ecologists should be invited.
5. Farmers should be educated for economical use of water.
6. Strict control should be made over Industries & Hospitals to treat their wastewater before disposal.
7. Domestic wastewater should be used for irrigation.
8. City water supply system should ensure continuous supply of water so that ground water is not exploited.
9. Water supply system should be modernized so as to reduce the consumption of water.
10. Afforestation of hilly areas should be done.
11. There should be a fine network of rivers, canals, nalas and reservoirs all over the country just as the roadways where extra load of water could be diverted to needed areas.
12. Money should be assigned for the maintenance of water bodies.
13. Stay tuned with nature and feel morally responsible towards society.
14. Adopt less complicated practices, which could be maintained by the people themselves.
15. Rainwater harvesting through boreholes should strictly be not handed over to common people in areas where proper drainage facility is not available.
16. Catch the drop but save the ground water from being polluted.
