Friday, December 29th, 2000 ***

Gwen asks why Rebecca cares about Ivy. Rebecca reveals that she doesn't think Ethan is a Crane. Gwen calls her crazy. Rebecca wonders what it may mean if Ethan is not a Crane. She says she doesn't think that Ethan is Julian's son. Gwen doesn't believe. Rebecca reveals that Ivy and Sam were lovers. Gwen doesn't believe Rebecca. Rebecca calls Sam a "hottie" and all the girls in high school wanted him and Gwen asks if Rebecca did. She said yes, but he was nobody and he had a secret girlfriend. She reveals what she found in the locket. Gwen thinks it's all far fetched. Rebecca says it makes sense. Rebecca recalls Ivy always calling Ethan her son and Julian is always correcting her. She said Ivy gets upset when Ethan criticizes Sam. Rebecca also says she heard Ivy say she was worried about Ethan's fathers safety the night Sheridan was saved. Rebecca says it became clear when she proposed to Theresa. Gwen says if he is his son that he will lose the crane fortune. Rebecca says every gray cloud has a silver lining. Rebecca asks Gwen if she loves Ethan enough to marry him if he wasn't a Crane. Gwen says she'd lose on the mansion and the lifestyle. Rebecca asks what if she could marry Ethan and have the Crane fortune as well. Gwen says even is he isn't how do they get him away from Theresa and how will they get the Crane power if Ethan isn't a Crane. Gwen asks what Rebecca wants. Rebecca says Julian and Gwen asks why? She says that they will get everything they want. Gwen asks about her father. Rebecca says he's a nice man, but their marriage has been on the rocks for years and she has been looking for the right time to leave. Gwen asks how she knows Rebecca will marry him. Rebecca says she will use sex to control him. If Ethan's parentage is revealed she will use sex to convince Julian to adopt him. Gwen asks what they are  going to do about Theresa, Rebecca thinks that once Theresa finds out he has no money she will leave.  Gwen is thrilled and says she will have Ethan and all of his money. Rebecca says she will be Mrs. Julian Crane and Gwen will me Mrs. Ethan Crane. Gwen thinks they need more proof. Rebecca said she will get more proof and goes up to Ivy's room and asks Gwen to stall her if she comes along. Ivy comes in the room and talks to Gwen and they talk about Sheridan's recovery. Ivy asks if there was anything else, she says no and than fakes a cry. Ivy hugs her and offers to help and say G is always welcome and she rings for tea. Gwen fakes some more and comments on how well her mother has been with her though all of this. Ivy reiterates Gwen being welcome and not to let Ethan and Theresa's relationship. Ivy asks about Rebecca and gets up to look for her and Gwen says no.

Alistair calls and says Julian ruined his Christmas for letting Ethan choose Theresa. Complains about Sheridan and Luis. Alistair reveals Sheridan's miracle and that she is alive because she loves Luis. The whole hospital is talking about it. Alistair knows about Julian and Rebecca, Julian denies, but Ivy doesn't care. Jules blames Ethan's choice on Ivy, Alistair is worried about Luis knowing about the past and get Ethan away from Theresa. Ivy says no. She says no one will take their love from them. Ivy asks if Alistair cares about Sheridan's happiness. Alistair says he's trying to protect the family secrets. Ivy asks what secrets? He says the Martin Fitzgerald thing. So they have to get Luis and Theresa out of the picture due to Luis's possible snooping. Ivy is playing a scenario of Luis telling Alistair that Ethan isn't Julian's son and Ethan telling Ivy that he hates her. After thinking that, Ivy agrees to help with Sheridan and Luis. Julian asks why the sudden change of heart and Al accuses her of having an ulterior motive. She says no, but Alistair says she's afraid of her secrets being revealed. Ivy denies a secret. She has a condition, they won't that Theresa away from Ethan because he is happy with her.  Ivy takes Alistair off speaker phone and asks if he wants to lose Ethan as an heir and he agrees that Ethan is worth a damn. Alistair says he will let Ethan marry Theresa, Ivy thanks him. Julian takes the phone and Ivy leaves. Julian says he can't let that happen and he said he won't he will use her until Sheridan and Luis are apart and they will then send Theresa packing. Al says that they will have to kill Luis.

Luis tells Theresa he will not give her his blessing. Theresa says it's official and Luis should welcome Ethan. Luis says there's no way. She wants Luis to give her away and he says sorry, no. Ethan looks on and than takes Theresa in his arms in front of Luis. Ethan yells at Luis and Luis says he's bringing conflict upon his family. Ethan calls Luis's hatred blind. Luis says that the Cranes are responsible for Martin's disappearance, Ethan asks for proof. Luis tells Theresa that the Cranes will destroy her. Ethan says no way, Luis says that walking her down the aisle will be like walking her to her own funeral. Sheridan hears him say this and he runs to her. Ethan says that maybe Luis was right and Theresa asks if he's having second thoughts. Ethan says he can't take her away from her family. He says maybe it is all wrong. Theresa blames it on his family and he says no he loves her and she says that's all that matters. Ethan says if he was a local Luis wouldn't hate him and he is a Crane and there is nothing Theresa can do to change that. Theresa tells him there is something he need to know about her real family. Theresa is about to tell him and Pilar shows and stops her. Pilar asks what happened with Luis and they tell her. Pilar asks if they expected anything else. Ethan says he can't walk away from his family because he is a Crane and has Crane dreams, but with his name he wants to make a difference in the state and country. Ethan leaves to talk to Sheridan's and Pilar tells Theresa not to say anything because his family is important to him. Pilar says that she is being selfish and that she will ruins Ethan's life. Ethan comes back and says Sheridan will be released. Ethan asks what Theresa was going to say. She covers up by saying she hope Luis will change his mind about the Cranes. Pilar leaves and Theresa says his life would be easier if he married Gwen. He says Gwen was once the brightest star in the sky, but when Theresa came along she eclipsed all of them. He asks if he would marry him without Luis's blessing. She says she loves Luis but she belongs with E and he will always be in her heart.  Ethan suggests getting the marriage license and that he needs to get a hold of his birth certificate. She flashes back to scanning Ethan's secrets on her laptop and says she left her laptop in Ivy's room.

Luis apologizes to Sheridan. She heard what he said and she is moved by Theresa's love for Ethan and asks why he can't see it. Sheridan says she thought that he could see past it all for the sake of love says she is disappointed him for not being what she thought. Luis says he does believe love can change and if he didn't they would be together and that he never believed she was gone and that he loves her. She said she felt the same way and that love brought her back form the dead and that it is the most powerful form on Earth and she says Theresa will marry Ethan not matter what. She reminds him that she is his sister and not to throw her away. He says he just wants to protect her. Sheridan says Ethan can protect her. Luis doesn't think that he can. Luis says that he doesn't trust Ethan because he is the same as Julian. He asks why did she have to fall for a Crane and not someone else. Sheridan says you can't pick who you fall in love with and she asks Luis if he regrets falling in love with her because she is a Crane. He says he's not sorry for falling in love and did realize that until he thought he lost her and can't imagine his life without her, she agrees. He says that things will be easier for them than for Ethan and Theresa because E is the Crane heir. Sheridan says he can help them by being on Theresa's side. Pilar, Theresa, and Ethan enter the room and Pilar hugs Sheridan. Luis says that her near death experience made him realize that love is powerful force and knows that Theresa loves Ethan and than agrees to give him her blessing and give her away. Sheridan welcomes Theresa to the family. Luis says to Ethan than his (Ethan's) family better not hurt Theresa. They shake hands and Ethan vows to protect her.

Rebecca is in Ivy's room looking for Ivy's secrets. She searches and comes up with nothing. She eyes the laptop and wonders if Ivy went high tech. She opens Theresa's laptop.
