Chapter One

It was a wonderful day. The sun was shining and there was a soft breeze but inside the Crane Mansion it felt as though the world had ended.

Theresa sat upstairs. She just stared out the window at the beautiful landscaping of the Crane estate.

She looked around the beautiful room that Ivy, Sheridan and she had created over the past 7 ½ months.

Theresa stood up and turned on her stereo. She pushed the search button to #16. Tears in Heaven.

This was her escape. Out of this world.

It had been one week.

One week today that Theresa and Ethan lost Angelina. Their angel.

Angelina was stillborn. Their precious little girl was stillborn.

I must be strong, and carry on.
Cause I know, I don't belong here in heaven.

She leaned back against the white rocking chair. She clutched the little white sundress in her hands.

She still remembered the day that Ethan had come from work with it.

~*FlashBack*~

Theresa sat in the white rocking chair with her hands on her stomach.

Two weeks.

'Two more weeks and we will be able to see our little angel.' Theresa thought to herself.

A smile formed on her face.

And then in came Ethan. Theresa was too lost in thought. Ethan knew that. So he surprised her.

Putting his hands over her eyes, she jumped. But as quickly as she jumped, she relaxed.

"Guess who", Ethan said.

Theresa replied, "James, I thought I told you not to meet me here. My husband might show up. And he might get suspicious and find out that this baby isn't his!"

Ethan was shocked.
"What!"

Theresa pretended to not know what was going on. "Ethan, what are you doing here? I thought you were James the pool boy!"

Ethan caught on quickly. "Theresa, we don't have a pool."

Theresa chuckled to herself, "Who says you have to have a pool to have an affair with a pool boy?"

Ethan laughed and hugged her. "Your terrible you know that?" he said.

"I know."

"I brought my baby girl a present."

Theresa was excited. "You did! Let me see!"

Ethan pulled out the most beautiful white sundress.

Tears came to Theresa's eyes. "Ethan, sweetie it's so adorable, but I don't think that it will fit me."

"Oh you. It's for my other girl."

"Oh ok."

They both laughed. They were very anxious.
They were going to be a family.

Ethan stared into Theresa's big brown eyes.

He couldn't love her more if he tried. She was the one woman that he was going to love for the rest of his life. And now she was going to be the mother of his child.

Life was perfect.

~* End of Flashback *~

Yeah, life was perfect. Up until one week ago.

Theresa wouldn't leave that nursery. Her precious baby would never get to see that room.

They painted it yellow and it had a daisy theme.

There was a white crib and changing table to match the white rocking chair that she was sitting on right now.

Today was the funeral. Ethan didn't want her to go. He thought that it would be too hard for her. But she had to go. She had to say goodbye to her little Angelina.

All she had to do was get up and walk out that door to face the world.

Beyond the door, there's peace I'm sure.
And I know, there're be no more tears in heaven.

She wished with all of her heart that when she opened that door Ethan would be standing there holding little Angelina in his arms and she would be wearing that little white sundress.

But that dream would never happen.

"My little Angelina. You're with God now. You know Angie, its funny. I've cried for a week strait and now today, today of all days, I can't cry. It's almost as though you don't want me to cry for you," said Theresa.

"She doesn't."

"Julian I didn't hear you come in."

"No, Theresa I guess you didn't. But I want you to meet someone."

" Julian, I really don't want to see anyone. I just want to go to the church and say goodbye to my little Angelina."

"But Theresa, I think that you should meet him."

"Fine Julian. I don't care anymore. I don't have anything to loose. That's for damn sure."

Theresa looked at the door and a man walked in.

It was Alaister Crane.

"Mr. Crane, what are you doing here?" Theresa asked.

"Theresa dear, please call me Alaister. I came to say goodbye to little Angelina.", Alaister replied sincerely.

"Well, that's very kind of you Alaister."

Ethan walked in to find Theresa looking down at her hands and occasionally wiping a tear away from her eyes.

She was wearing white. She wore white all week and she never let go of that little white sundress. But today was different. She finally added some color to her dress. It was red. A blood red, the color of rubies; Angelina's birth stone. She was wearing a white suit dress. A white jacket and matching long skirt. Under the dress, she wore a deep red shirt with a large collar. Around her neck she wore a ruby and diamond necklace.

"Theresa…"

"Ethan…"

No other words were said. Ethan knew that Theresa needed him. She was taking this so hard.

She hadn't slept much this week. She just sat in the nursery holding that little dress and listening to that song. Tears in Heaven.

You could tell that she hadn't slept all week. There were bags under her eyes. Sheridan and Ivy came up earlier to try and help her hide the dark circles with some makeup but when they were done, Theresa went back into that nursery and started to cry, wiping the make up off in the process. It was a battle not worth fighting for.

But that song. That song offered her some comfort. Not a lot, but some.

Sheridan heard her playing it one night. She was planning a surprise at the funeral. She wouldn't let anyone know but she knew that Theresa would love it.

Ethan was there for her, but it was Julian that helped her the most. Ethan didn't know why Theresa and Julian connected the way that they did, but if Julian was helping Theresa through it, even just a little bit, Ethan was grateful.

And so Ethan just held his wife in his arms. And he let her cry.

Chapter 2

The mass was beginning. Theresa sat in the front row, next to Ethan who had a protective arm around her. On the other side of Theresa sat Luis, with Sheridan on the end. On the other side of Ethan sat Miguel and Kay, next to them, Pilar, Ivy and Julian.

Almost all of Harmony was there, only the Hotchkiss women were no where to be seen.

But for Theresa, the fact that Rebecca and Gwen were not there, worried her. What would be so important to those women, that they would not show up to see Theresa hurting?

Almost everyone was shocked to see Theresa Crane sitting poised in the front row cluthing the little white sundress for dear life.

Ethan must have been the most shocked of all.

Theresa cried in his arms that very morning, but now she sat there dry eyed. Even when Hank and Sam brought that tiny coffin to the alter, she didn't cry.

She was that way for most of the mass.

Until Sheridan got up to leave. Theresa still didn't have a clue. It was time for Sheridan's surprise.

By mid-mass Father Lonigan made an announcement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, i know that this is a hard time for many of you," he paused. Took a deep breath and continued. " But, a miss Sheridan Crane has made a special addition to the mass for Theresa Crane. So, Sheridan, here you are."

Father Lonigan handed the microphone to Sheridan. She sure had Theresa's attention.

"Even though, I have never seen Angelina Michelle looked like, but I know that she was the most beautiful baby on the face of this earth. One night, I heard Theresa in the nursery playing some music. It was one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. Then, I heard Theresa sing along. That's when I thought of the proper way to say goodby to Angie. I've decided that a live version of that song would be the way to go. So, I remember that a friend owed me a favor, so, with out further introduction, the Boston 4 piece Symphony orchestra."

Theresa was shocked beyond words. When she saw the four men walk out each carring a different instrament, she started to tear up.

Ethan put a comforting and reasurring arm around his wife as the men started the familiar strains of music.

By the end of the song, Theresa was sobbing, there were no words sung, but the music itself touched Theresa to her very core. She ran up the alter steps to Sheridan and wrapped her arms around her sister-in-law.

Sheridan would never know how very grateful Theresa was. That song meant everything to her, ever since they lost Angie.

"Sheridan, thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to me, and to Ethan," she said with her face buried into Sheridan's shoulders.

Theresa was openly sobbing in front of everyone. She didn't care. It brought a tear to everyone's eye.

"Theresa, I don't know what your going through, but I am so sorry. I feel a loss by, its nothing compared to what your going through."

Theresa and Sheridan let go of the embrace to only be startled by Eve's voice ringing through the room.

"She's alive! Theresa, Ethan, your baby girl is alive. Angie's alive."

Theresa looked at Ethan. Their eyes connected and then all Theresa saw was black.

Chapter Three
Recap: Everyone is at baby Angie's funeral except for the Hotchkiss women. Eve got a phone call saying that Angie was alive. Theresa passed out after Eve made her announcement.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Ethan rushed onto the alter. Theresa had collapsed just moments before. How could Angie be alive? It wasn't possible. Luis beat Ethan to Theresa and was now trying to wake Theresa up. Ethan ran over to the little closed coffin and opened it up. There was no one inside.

Ethan looked to Sam Bennett who was already making phone calls. Hank was talking on a walkie-talkie to someone named "Smith" and was telling him to get more men down to St. Agnes Church because there is a kidnapping situation on their hands.

Ethan went over to Theresa and saw that she was crying. He pulled her into his arms and let her cry. He picked her up and took her out of that church and into a police car that was taking them to the hospital. When her sobs subsided, she asked him a question.

"How can Angie be alive? There was a coffin. They told us that she was stillborn. We saw her, she was dead."

Ethan replied, "There was no body in the coffin Resa, I know we saw a stillborn baby, but maybe it wasn't ours. There could have been a mistake."

After a few more minutes of hopeful conversation, the car came to a stop infront of the hospital's main entrance. Ethan and Theresa followed Eve down the hall and led them to the infant room.

The three walked in the room to find the Hotchkiss women. They weren't at the church because they were here at the hospital with Angie. Theresa was seeing red. How dare they come and see her baby before she did. What Theresa didn't see was the gun that Rebecca was holding' pointed directly at her stomach.
But Theresa did see the knife that was being held to her little Angie's throat.

"You bitch. Get away from my daughter.", Theresa screamed at Gwen.

"Me, a bitch? That's rich Theresa! This should be my daughter! I bet that she was concieved out of wedlock? Wasn't she? Huh Theresa?!? Wasn't she!?", Gwen spat back.

That was it. Gwen went to far. How dare she say that her daughter was concieved out of wedlock. Theresa lunged at Gwen and started to punch her hard and fast. Rebecca was startled. Gwen was fighting back and now the two women were rolling around on the floor fighting and hitting each other. Rebecca cocked the gun and fired twice. Both women stopped fighting. They were lying on the ground, Gwen underneath Theresa. Sam and Hank Bennett came in a appriehended Rebecca and removed her from the room. Angie was crying and Theresa was still laying on top of Gwen. Neither were moving. But there was a scarlet red pool of blood spreading between the two of them and was showing up more and more on Theresa's white cotton suit.

Ethan hurried over to the women with Luis and the two of them carefully lifted Theresa off of Gwen to find her with her eyes open and breathing heavily.

"Theresa are you alright?"

"Luis, go to Angie. She needs someone. I'm fine. I wasn't shot or anything, just go to my baby."

Luis did what he was told and subsided the infants cries. Ethan just held Theresa as tight as he could while Eve pronounced Gwen dead. Finally they could be happy. As a family. Just Ethan, Theresa and Angelina.

Luis brought Angelina over to Theresa and Ethan who were still in each other's embrace both openly crying. He handed the sleeping infant over to Theresa who was smiling through her tears. Ethan wrapped "his girls" into his loving embrace and kissed Theresa on the forehead, whispering ever so often the words "I love you Resa" into her ear.

Life was finally going to be ok. For the first time in a week, there would be no more Tears in Heaven.

The End
