Kay was sitting in the park, trying to figure out another strategy on how to get Miguel. She'd seen them a mile away. It killed her every time when she see Miguel kissing and holding Charity. Wishing it could be her. She would be in his arms right now if it wasn't for her cousin, Charity. "Hey Kay." Simone said, standing over Kay's shadow. "Hey Simone." Kay said in a low tone trying to not look at Miguel and Charity while playing with the pebble. "Still want Miguel?" Simone searched for Kay's eyes but they didn't meet her somehow. "I tried telling you to tell him how you feel before another girl would come along." Kay sighed heavily. "I don't need your preaching Simone. I want Miguel. But how will I get him when damn Charity is in the way!?" She scowled. "Maybe you should wait until Miguel realize he has feelings for you." Simone tried to encourage her. "Gee Thanks Simone. What are you my therapist now?" Kay's sarcasm seem to be kicking in. So it made Simone assumed she's herself just not there today like every other day. "Kay, you better keep your head up. Cause here they come." Simone whispered. "Hey Simone. Kay." Miguel said kissing Charity. "Hey Miguel." Simone said. "Hey Kay and Simone." Charity is full of cheer. "Hey Charity." Simone smiled while nudging Kay's arm to speak. "Pardon me." Kay abruptly moved away from the scenery. "What's wrong with Kay?" Charity had this sudden chill rushing through her. "I'll go see what's up." Miguel insisted. "Charity stay here with Simone until I come back. Don't go anywhere." He lectured playfully. "Ok Miguel." He kissed her again. "Kay? What's wrong?" Miguel's eyes lurking through hers with inquiry. "Nothing Miguel." Kay turned to the river flowing smoothly. "Don't give me that talk to me. Is it Reese?" Kay's nerve shot to the bone. "Miguel! I don't like Reese like that." She declared. "Sorry Kay. I thought you. . ." She interrupted him. "What made you think that, Miguel?" Miguel shrugged. "Is something bothering you?" Kay looked away from him. "Miguel. . ." She hesitated. "Kay, don't hide from me. I can tell something is wrong." Miguel landed his hand on Kay. "Miguel. Just go back to Charity, please." Kay tears were flowing nonstop. "Kay talk to me." Miguel said. "We've been friends for a very long time. I want you to know you can talk to me about anything." Miguel's sincerity surfaced to Kay's face. "You don't have time to talk to me, Miguel. You're so in love with Charity. I didn't want to bother." Kay said, kicking the pebble. "Kay, I didn't realize I was ignoring you." Miguel felt bad. "It's okay, Miguel. Don't feel bad, believe me. I don't want to be a bother to you and Charity." Miguel looked at her strangely. "Why would you be a bother?" He frowned. "You don't understand it's more to it than what you see." Kay moped. "What is on your mind, Kay? You still haven't told me?" Miguel touched her gently. "My friend is in love with a boy and she can't tell him cause he is involved with somebody else." Kay sort of admitted the truth to him. "Why is she afraid?" Miguel sat down beside her. "She have been best friends with him and her feelings started to grow. There is nothing she can do about it. Cause the girl he is with will always be his world." Miguel enfolds Kay dearly. "Did he know about her feelings?" Miguel wiped the tear from her cheek. "No." She whispered. "How come?" He asked softly. "He will always see her as 'one of the guys'." Kay complained. "She can't be 'one of the guys' if she's a looker." Miguel stated. "If you only knew." She mumbled. "Want to go back where Charity and Simone is at?" Miguel suggested. "No thanks." She turned down his offer. "I rather just stick it out and stay off to myself for a while." Miguel grimaced. "Then, I'll stay here with you until you come with me." He cupped his hands on Kay's shoulders. "Miguel. I'm grateful. But no. Go with Charity." Kay hated to say it but she don't want Miguel to know how she really feels. "Kay . . ." He whined. Kay gave him the 'not now' look. "Miguel. I'm serious. I rather be alone." Kay buried her head in her lap. "Kay, whoever your friend is. She might just get him if she holds on." Miguel assured her. Kay lifts her head up. "Really?" Demonic thoughts entered in Kay's mind. "Positive. If she's a beautiful person inside out. He'll see it eventually." Miguel beamed at her. "Thanks. Let's go back to Charity and Simone." Miguel and Kay were laughing and teasing each other on their way back. "Seems like somebody's having fun." Simone retaliated. Kay looked at her gravely. "Simone." She clenched her teeth firmly. "Hey. We hate to break this up. Charity and I must get going." Miguel half way smiled. "See ya later, Kay. Nice seeing you Simone." Miguel greeted them a goodbye hug. After Charity and Miguel departed. Kay snagged Simone close to her. "What's with the goofy grin, Kay?" Simone asked, irritably. "I think I got the perfect plan to drive a wedge between Miguel and Charity forever." Kay smiled deviously. "Oh no. I'm almost afraid to ask you what that might be." Simone placed her hand on her face. "Funny Simone! Remind me to put that on my tab?" Kay strikes back. "What are you planning to do?" Simone feels that Kay's plan might be able to destroy Charity and Miguel permanently. Jessica came by. "Hey Simone. Kay." She frowned. "Brat face! What are you doing here?" Kay yelled. "Nice to see you too, Kay." Jessica kindly returned a sarcastic gesture. "Simone. Your sister was looking for you and she said it was important." Jessica stood by Simone while ignoring Kay. "Can't it wait?" Kay rudely questioned. "This is not dealing with you, Kay. Butt out of it, please?" Jessica stick out her tongue. "Kay. I'm sorry I have to go. If it's dealing with a family meeting then I must leave." Simone crinkled her nose. "Lovely!" Kay glowered. "Sorry Kay." Simone gave Kay an unfeigned expression. "Call me later and we'll take it there. K?" Simone ensured her. "Alright." Kay grumbled. "Jessica! Why couldn't it wait?" she chastised Jessica. "Whitney told me to pass the message." Jessica defended herself. "Wonderfully amazing!" Kay griped. "I really need Simone, too." Kay smacked her lips. "Why do you need Simone? Look, if you're going to mess with Charity and Miguel. You can drop it!" Jessica requisitioned Kay. "Little sister. Go home!" Kay blasted on her. "Fine. I'm telling you Kay. If you're doing anything foolish. I will hold you responsible." Jessica took off and went to visit Reese. "Kay. You got to find a way to make Miguel yours. Miguel gave me new hope to get him now. I'll guarantee it, he'll know I love him before the year is over with." Kay made a note to herself. "Kay. Hey." Theresa said. "Have you seen Miguel?" Kay smirked. "Theresa. Just the girl I wanted to see." Kay embraced her arm over Theresa's shoulder. "What do you want Kay?" Theresa seemed a bit agitated by Kay's welcoming. "Do you know what Miguel is doing tomorrow?" Theresa turned to her. "No. That's why I have to find him. Why do you want to know, Kay?" Theresa's eyes grew with suspicion. "I want to spend quality time with him. Since he is always with Charity. I just need to catch up with him, that's all." Kay put her head down. "I'll see what I can do Kay. No promises." Theresa lectured. "Thanks Theresa! I owe you one!" Kay hugged her. Theresa ran into Charity. "Hey Charity. Have you seen Miguel?" Theresa asked. "No." Charity said. "Why don't we go to the Book Café to talk ok?" Theresa submitted to Charity. "Yeah. I would like that." Charity smiled. Kay was heading to her house and she saw Miguel at her front door. Was she dreaming? "Miguel?" Kay was startled by his unexpected visit. "Kay. I wanted to talk to you." Miguel didn't look too happy. "What's the matter Miguel?" Kay is scared to even know what it is. "Charity and I had a fight."
"What?" Kay was amazed. "Come on in Miguel . . . No better yet we can go for a walk." Miguel moved by her. "What happened to you and Charity?" Kay asked calmly. "She gets the feeling someone close to her is trying to steal me away from her." Miguel confessed to her. "Really?" Kay said quietly. "Did she say who it was?" Kay was speechless by Miguel's announcement. "You. She said it was you. I told her it's impossible cause you and I are just good friends. That's it." Miguel plopped on the bench. "Yeah." her voice cracked. "Why would she say something like that? Oh let me guess. It's one of Charity's 'premonition' right?" Kay rolled her eyes. "Kay? I love Charity. But I think this one is a little farfetched. I can't imagine you and me together." Miguel laughed coldly. "Why?" Kay was crushed. "You are just 'one of the guys' to me." Miguel nudged her on the shoulder. "That's all you see me as?" Kay muttered bitterly. "You're my best friend in the whole wide world." He felt he needed a squeeze from Kay. "Miguel. I don't know what to say." Kay couldn't even utter a sentence to Miguel. "I hope Charity will get pass this. You have no interest in me. Thanks Kay for listening to me." He gave her a peck on the cheek. Kay was about to say something. She was hurting too much. She was getting the impression Miguel was admonishing her without even noticing it. "Whether Miguel knows it or not. Charity is right. I am in love with you. I will come in between them. I don't know how I will. If only something could fall from the sky right now." Someone knocked on Kay's door. "Tabitha." she gritted her teeth together. "I just wanted to see if Grace was home." Tabitha snoops around. "She's not here, Tabitha." Kay's mind begin to wander off. "Something wrong Kay, dear?" Tabitha pried. "I want Miguel but I don't know how to get him. Cause dumb blonde Charity had this premonition that I will snatch Miguel from her." Tabitha dropped her mouth. "Is she right, Kay?" Kay looked at her. "She is right. I want Miguel. You know he had hurt my feelings. Saying it's gross for me and him to be together." Kay sobbed. "Well. Kay dear, you need to give Miguel some rude awakening. Grab his attention." Tabitha views herself in the mirror, fixing her hair. "Like how?" Kay reciprocated. "Use what you got sweetie. Once Miguel see the real you. Your beauty and all. He is going to want you." Tabitha hoped she constrained Kay. "Yeah. All I need is a decoy. If only a guy could appear in my life. Then he will distract Charity." Kay's devilish smirk resurfaced. "That's the spirit, old girl! You have a good night." Tabitha greeted her goodnight and Kay returned it back. "I might have to take some fresh air tonight." Kay made a note to herself. "All I need is a cutie to drop in my life." Kay bumped into this guy. "I'm so sorry." her eyes popped wide open. When she looked at him. She was in heaven. His eyes are so intense, they're green. His hair is dark as Kay's. He has a very nice built. Muscular, and he had this killer smile which drive girls insane. "I'm sorry. I've should of watch where I was going." Kay was embarrassed. "It's alright, beautiful." He grinned. "My name is Eric. What's your name?" He kissed her hand. "Kay." she was in total awe. "You've just changed my life!" Kay clenched on to Eric and hugged him tightly.
Chapter 2
"I beg your pardon?" Eric was confused. "I was looking for someone like you." Kay slightly giggled. "O-kay. I'm not following you." Eric eyes met with hers. "I'm in love with this guy cause he's in love with my cousin. When I am the one who has been in love with him for years." Eric was a little more informed than before. "I'm sorry. He had crushed my heart when he said he'll always see me as one of his male buddies." Kay's voice cracked. "I'll help you gorgeous." Eric invited his offer on the table. "You will?" She asked in doubt. He nodded his head. "Really?" Kay gasped and gave him another tender hug. "I should get hugs like this more often." He joked. "Cute. When are you available?" Kay is fascinated by Eric's eyes. "Tonight." Eric beamed at her. "Perfect! Let's go to the Book Café." Kay insisted. "Fine by me." Eric didn't have any hesitation. "So what does this cousin of yours look like?" Eric dangled with the cup of coffee. "Her name is Charity and there she is." Kay pointed to him where she was sitting by Theresa. "She's pretty. Who's the other pretty girl?" Eric's roguish grin shows up. "That's Charity's boyfriend sister. Her name is Theresa. And Charity's boyfriend name is Miguel. Theresa's brother. Whom is my friend. I love him more than that." Kay said in all one breath. "I see. I'll be glad to help you." Eric smiled. "You don't mind?" Kay crinkled her nose. "Of course not." Eric boasted. "I don't want you to think I'm using you." Kay explained to him earnestly. "You said you needed my help. And I will give it to you." Eric's eyes blatantly shot at hers. "You love rescuing the 'damsels in the distress' huh?" Kay rolled her eyes. "Yes. When a lady is in her worst despair. I'll always give her the satisfaction that I'm here for her." Eric reached for her hand. "Thank you Eric." Kay half-way smiled.
"Look Theresa. There's Kay and some new guy she's with. Let's go over there and speak to her." Charity beamed at Theresa. "Sure." Theresa shrugged. "He sure is cute, Charity." Theresa giggled. "How can you tell?" Charity laughed. "Charity it's not hard to see he is a charmer and hot one at that!" Theresa chuckled. "I guess. He is nothing like my Miguel." Charity smiled. "I thought you two were angry at each other?" Theresa quizzically looked at her. "Earlier I was. Not anymore. He's right. No one will come in between me and him." Charity acknowledged. "You two are meant to be." Theresa nudged on Charity's elbow. "Yeah. Hey Kay." Charity touched her on her shoulder. "Hi Charity. Theresa." Kay spoken lowly. "Hey." Theresa thought to herself for a minute. 'I was right. This guy is one looker! Hmm. Maybe he's interested in Kay.' she giggled. "Hey all. I hate to cut the conversation short. I must go home before Luis starts growling!" They all laughed. "Hey Theresa before you go. Let me introduce you to Eric. Theresa this is Eric, Eric this is Theresa." Kay smirked. "Nice to meet you." He exposed his killer smile towards Theresa. "Like wise." Theresa grinned. "Have fun all." Theresa exited and Kay looked back at Charity and Eric. "Oh! How rude of me? Charity have a seat!" Kay was laughing with embarrassment. "It's okay, Kay." Charity reminded her it wasn't a big deal. Before Kay could utter a word to Charity. Eric already did the honors. "My name is Eric. What's yours?" Eric couldn't help but to show his million dollar smile. "Charity. Are you? Ahem. Do you know Kay?" Charity said, while observing him. "Yeah. I'm her boyfriend." Eric beamed at her. "Kay. I didn't know you had a boyfriend. I thought you were going with Reese." Charity was confused. "No. This is my real boyfriend. Reese assumed the wrong thing." Kay retorted. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you." Charity outstretched her hand to his. "Like wise!" Eric placed his cup of coffee down on the table. "So Charity. Are you new here?" Eric began his investigation. "Yes. I can't wait for you to meet my boyfriend, Miguel. He would love to meet you." Charity insisted. "Cool." Eric was studying Charity carefully. "Kay you got your self one fine man." Charity patted her on the back. "Gee. Thanks." Kay gave a wry grin. Miguel entered in. "Miguel There you are sweetie!" Charity kissed him passionately. "Hey sweetheart." Miguel puckered on her lips back. "What's up, Kay?" Miguel nodded at her. "Miguel meet my boyfriend, Eric." Kay jumped in his face. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Eric shook hands with Miguel. "Same here man. So what brings you to Harmony?" Miguel suspiciously asked. "Why do you ask?" Eric retaliated. "I've never seen you here before." Miguel flatly stated. "Kay?" Eric narrowed his eyes at Kay. "That's because, I-I wanted to keep my relationship with Eric a secret." Kay lied. Reese walks in. "Hey all." Reese pulled his glasses to his nose. "Hi Kay." Reese snorted. "Hey Reese." Kay gritted her teeth together. "Meet my boyfriend, Eric." Reese was crushed. "Hey Eric." Reese frowned. "What's up." Eric grinned. "Hey all I think I should go." Reese was offended to see his lovely Kay is with someone else. "Reese." Miguel tried to stop him but it was too late. "Oh well." Eric mumbled. "Hey Kay. I think we should all go out on a double date." Charity suggested. "Sounds like a plan to me." Miguel snuggled close to Charity. "Yeah." Kay muttered. She was crushed when she'd seen how Miguel was consoling Charity. Oh how she yearns to be in his arms. Eric noticed Kay's anguished expression. "Kay. I agree." Eric cuddled with Kay. He kissed her on her ear. "Eric." Kay laughed sheepishly. "I know what you're trying to do. Keep it up." Kay whispered in his ear. "Got it kido!" Eric agreed. "Is it alright if we all go out tomorrow to the movies?" Charity put forth to them. "Sure." They all corresponded. "What time?" Eric questioned. "How about 6:30?" Charity squinched her eyes at Eric. "Perfect." Eric cheered. "6:30 it is." Eric winked at her. "I think we should leave. Come on, Eric." Kay held his firmly. "Nice meeting you two." Eric nods his head and leaves with Kay. "Eric I could kiss you for this!" Kay hugged him. "What's holding you back?" He jeered. "Cute Eric." Kay shook her head at him. "Now that we got them right where we want them Then, you will have Charity and I will have Miguel." Kay and Eric gave each other a hi five. "Somebody is full of themselves tonight." Eric jesters at Kay's malevolent deed. "Eric. Don't you want to be with Charity?" Kay frowned in concentration. "No! I don't wanna be with Charity." He bantered. "You know I want to be with her. But what makes you so sure this scheme of yours will work?" Eric lifted a brow. "It will work. If we stick accordingly to the original plan." Kay grumbled. "Eric. You're being a worry wart. What's up with you?" Kay beseechingly looked into his eyes. "I can tell ole lover boy doesn't like me." He smirked. "I can tell I make him uncomfortable when I'm around his 'precious' Charity." Eric concluded. "That's the idea, Eric. To make him feel unease. I want him to love me, though. Not Charity." Kay plopped on her porch. "Kay. Everything will work out. You'll see." Eric assured her. "I just got to get Miguel, Eric. You don't understand. I really love him. He's my life. I will die for him." Kay replied, gravely. Eric shivered. He felt as if someone has walked on his grave. "That makes two of us." Eric gave a wry smile. "See you tomorrow evening, my bunny bear?" Eric joshes at her. "Tomorrow it is." Kay gave a faux grin. "Thanks Eric. I don't know what I've would of done if you haven't came along . . . Thanks Eric." Eric felt Kay's sincerity. He reached over to kiss her on the cheek. "Goodnight Kay." They've said their goodbyes and Kay went upstairs thinking on how lovely it will be once she'll get Miguel into her arms.
"You all are ready?" Kay shouted at Miguel and Charity. "Charity will be down in a minute." Miguel responded. "Good. Eric will be here soon." Kay said, fretfully. "Kay, it'll be ok. Give him time. You know patience is a virtue." Kay turned to Miguel. "In most cases." She retorted, trying to smile. "Miguel you . . ." The doorbell ranged. "Eric. I was worried sick. I was beginning to think you had bailed out on us." Kay frowned, sarcastically. "No need to fret my pet." Eric sneered at her. Kay grumbled at him. "Charity! Eric's here." Kay yelled at the top of her lungs. Charity stepped down from the stairs and she has made an entrance that put Miguel and Eric into a total awe. "That's my girl." Miguel curved his lips slightly. "I'm ready. Kay you need to start buying you some patience." Charity chuckled. " Yeah. 'Kay you need to buy you some patience' Yeah when horses fly." Kay mocked her and grabbed her sweater. "Come on Kay. Be nice." Eric lectured her. "Fine. Let's just go." Kay griped. "You really want Miguel that bad, huh?" Eric could see how this is affecting Kay. "Damn straight! I've been waiting this long for this event to happen. Now the time has finally arrived." Kay beamed at him. "You're the boss." Eric dryly remarked. They all arrived to the movies and they were waiting in line for the goodies. "So Eric. How long are you planning to stay in Harmony?" Miguel interrogated. "I'm not sure. As long as I'm seeing Kay. I think I'm planning to stay around as long as I can." He snuggled up on Kay. "Miguel. Didn't you asked him last night?" Kay sort of grimaced. "I'm sorry. It's just I want to get to know Eric better." Miguel kissed Charity, which made Kay want to squirm. "It's alright Kay. I can understand where Miguel is coming from. After all. I am dating his slugger." Eric nudged her on the shoulder. "Ha, ha! Bite me!" Kay snarled at him. "Down kitty! I haven't started anything, yet." Eric tsked her. "Sorry." Kay scowled. "Come on you guys. The movie is getting ready to start." Charity whispered as they attended to their seats. "Charity's right." Miguel could see Charity wasn't pleased with their bickering. "Sorry sweetheart. It won't happen again." Miguel promised her. "Alright." Charity's eyes were filled with love. "Makes me wanna gag every time I see them kiss." Kay complained. "That makes me and you both." Eric retaliated. Eric seen how Miguel was really into his kiss with Charity. So Eric pressed his lips on Kay's. Kay couldn't believe how Eric is arousing her with his lips. "Eric . . . Is that in the script?" She joked. "Just go along with me." he whispered back. "Why??" Before Kay could continue with her sentence. Eric kissed her even more. Charity was observing on how Eric is a good kisser. She's not disputing that Miguel is a good kisser, but her curiosity is sneaking up on her. Miguel picked up on how Eric was all over Kay. "Charity, do you want me to get you anything else?" Miguel changed the subject. "Yes." Charity responded while she was in a trance. Miguel did what she asked and go order something for the both of them. Eric was eyeing Charity. He'd noticed on how he was grabbing Charity's attention. His eyes are glowing intensely. It is almost as if she could be in his arms right now! Wait a minute! Whoa! What is she thinking? Miguel is her true love. Eric is having the tendency to tempt her. She is amazed at his masculine features. Eric, no doubt is one good looking guy. He could have any girl he wanted. "Why did he had to have Kay?" Charity moaned. Charity is not being her usual self. Something has taken over her. Eric stopped kissing Kay and he saw how Charity is feeling for him. Eric couldn't take his eyes off of her. He whispered in Kay's ear carefully so Charity wouldn't distinguish on what they are exchanging about. "I think I got her hooked." Eric touched Kay's hand intimately. "Oh Eric. I could kiss you again for saving me!" Kay hugged him. Charity had went to the ladies room but Eric stopped her. "I've seen you staring at me." Eric replied, confidently. "I want you to know I'm here for you whenever you need me." Eric assured her. "Thanks Eric. But I should." Eric grabbed her lightly. "I mean it, Charity." Charity felt something coming over her. "Yes Eric. I understand." Charity finding herself to be a lost little girl who couldn't find her way home when looking into his charming eyes. "See you tomorrow? How about giving me a tour around Harmony?" Eric twinkled his smile at her. "Sure. I'll be glad to show you around." Charity insisted. "After all. You are new here and it wouldn't be fair of me to let you feel like the odd ball." She giggled. "Yeah. Let's go back to the show before Kay and Miguel start wondering where are we?" Eric gestured. Charity glanced at the clock. "Oh yes. We better go. Eric. I think it's going to be nice to have you around here." Charity curved her lips at him. "Me too Charity, me too." He held her hand. "There you two are. I thought we was going to call the police." Kay cackled. "Are you alright?" Eric hurried over to see what was wrong. "I'm fine Eric. It's just . . . I see how you two are reacting towards each other." Kay whispered. "Isn't that what you wanted?" Eric cocked a brow. "Yes. Eric we want to slow it down ok?" Kay saw how close Miguel and Charity are cuddling intimately. "I can't take it anymore. Take me home Eric. Now!" Kay demanded. "Are you sure it's not your impulse getting to you?" Eric jokingly replied. "Shut up!" Kay was burning up internally. Miguel and Charity didn't even noticed. This means it's time for Kay to think of a new strategy.
Chapter 3
"Hey Kay. Why did you leave so early?" Charity took a sip from her glass of orange juice. "I just didn't feel like staying that long." Kay shrugged, playing with her cereal. "I'm sorry Kay. I wish I could make it better for you." Charity touched Kay's shoulder. "Yeah, don't bother." Kay grumbled. Miguel came over and hugged Charity. "Hey you," Charity smiled. "How did you sleep?" Miguel asked her. "I had a good night rest myself. Hey Kay. Why did you leave so early?" Kay sighed at Miguel's interrogation. "Is this attack Kay day?" Kay griped. "Kay what's wrong?" Miguel never seen Kay so . . . disgruntled. "Excuse me." Kay went upstairs and her tears were flowing freely. "Damn that Charity. I wish she could go to hell!" "What is this I'm hearing Charity going to hell?" Jessica frowned. "Get out of my way brat face!" Kay walked pass Jessica and went to her room to go change. "Hey Miguel, Charity." Jessica snooped in the refrigerator to grab something to drink. "Hey Jessica. What's up with Kay?" Charity leaned over the counter where Miguel was asking Jessica. "Beats me, Miguel. I just seen her and she's pretty snappy. I don't know what happened to her. She'll get over it." Jessica laughed. "I hope so." Charity mumbled. "I hope she wasn't offended about us?" Charity suddenly came back to the real world. "What makes you say that Charity?" Miguel snickered. "I get the feeling something is bothering Kay and it has something to do with us. I mean, if you think about it. She was fine until she seen us making out in the theater." Jessica drops her mouth. "Ooh you two are being naughty, naughty." Jessica started chuckling. "I bet Kay got a kick out of it." Jessica said to herself, smirking. "What was that, Jessica?" Charity glared at her after she kissed Miguel. "I was trying to say that Kay must have been sick. Probably from the cold I had earlier in the week." Jessica went into the other room to watch television. Simone entered from the back way. "Hey Charity and Miguel. Where's Kay?" Miguel turned to Simone. "She's upstairs. I don't know why Kay left. Maybe she's coming down with the flu." Miguel suggested. "Thanks anyway." Simone ran upstairs and knocked on Kay's door. "Go away!" Kay yelled. "It's me Simone. Kay open up." Simone pushed the door that was ajar, already. "Kay what's wrong?" Simone came to Kay and hugged her. "Simone, it's not fair. Why does brat-face Charity have to take the only thing I've been longing to have?" Kay's eyes were red from the excessive crying. "What? Miguel and Charity did their soap opera debut of where they finally kissed?" "Simone, this is not funny! Do you know how agonizing it is to see the boy of my dreams kissing on another girl? I love Miguel! Why can't he see it?" Kay scowled. "Kay. I've told you from the start, to tell Miguel the truth way before another girl entered in his life." Simone chastised her. "I know. I know. I know. I know! You don't have to scrub the towel on my face! Grab the soap why don't you? To make me feel cleaner." Kay retaliated. "Sorry Kay. But I just hope everything will work out for you. How are you planning to get Miguel this time?" Simone was flustered from Kay's disgruntled demeanor. "You'll see Simone. I don't need your help as much now." Kay giggled. "How's that?" Simone bit her lip. "I got a babe to help me out. He's planning to take Charity and I'm scheming to get Miguel." Kay placed her arm around Simone. "What? What guy? Who is he? And where did he come from?" Simone grilled her. "Eric. And I'll explain it to you on the way. Come on! We got to see my 'boyfriend' now!" Kay tagged Simone with her. "Whatever you say Kay." Simone griped. They arrived at the Book Café to make a collusion to keep Miguel and Charity apart. "Well, well, well. My favorite girl. Two of my favorite girls that is." Simone was in total shock. 'He is gorgeous. Where did Kay find him at?' Simone thought. "My name is Eric and what's yours?" Eric beamed at her. "Simone." Simone glanced at Kay and gave her the 'you've done out did yourself this time, Kay' look. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Simone outstretched her hand to his. "Likewise." Eric sat next to Kay. "So what's your next sinister's plan?" Eric flashed her a goofy look. "I was thinking we all should go on a trip. You, me, Simone, Chad, Charity, and Miguel." Eric shook his head no at her. "Why not?" Kay grimaced. "Cause it's too obvious, so . . . predictable. If you want to snag the man of your dreams, Kay. It must be counter productive. Something that will have an impact on everyone's lives. You know, you want it to be spectacular yet sexy. Smooth but unexpected. You want Miguel to see you in a new light. Don't try so hard either. You gotta let him come to you. If you want to make him yours. You must carry yourself like a lady at all times." Eric pointed out. Simone was speechless. 'You know Kay. Eric is right." Kay moue at first, then a sparkle glimmered in her eye. "You know what? Eric I like your plan. Since you are calculating and charming. What would be a good strategy for me and you to get the people we want?" Kay crossed her arms. "One thing's for sure. We don't want to do it right away. It's too soon. We should plan it for this upcoming weekend. Cause we all know they want to spend their most 'romantic' weekend with each other. We have to make sure our plan will not be thwarted." Eric clasped his hands. "I wish you two the best." Simone smiled. "Where are you going Simone?" Kay was disappointed at her for leaving. "I'm on punishment. Whitney ratted on me, cause of I was talking with Chad." Simone wanted to cry but she held her tears. "I'll call you later then, Simone. Take care." Kay hugged her before she left. "Thanks Kay. You tell me how it went. Alright?" Simone whispered. "You know I will." Kay felt assured now that Eric has giving her new hope she will succeed of having Miguel. "So where we'll be going?" Kay plopped on the chair. "I'll have a party set up at my house." Kay nearly choked on her drink. "Your house. Do you have any family? How old are you, Eric?" Kay was trying to search for an answer through his captivating eyes. "To answer your question, Kay. I'm twenty. Right now my family is not up for discussion." Eric boldly stated. "Fine." Kay shrugged. "Here comes the oh so charming couple." Kay said, sarcastically. "Kay. There you are. We were looking for you. How are you holding up?" Charity touched Kay gently. "How you're doing, Miguel?" Eric shook his hand. "I'm cool. What's up with you?" Miguel thrust his hands in his pockets. "Come and join us." Charity looked at Miguel's expression when Eric invited them. "It's ok we don't want to impose." Charity said, politely. "Look. Me and Kay wanted to ask you a question." Eric insisted. Miguel really didn't want to sit at their table. "Come on Miguel. It wouldn't hurt." Miguel finally surrender and dine in with them. "What is it you want to ask us?" Miguel crossed his arms. "How about you, Charity, Kay and me go away for the weekend?" Eric smiled. Miguel and Charity looked at each other. "Eric, how are you going to do that unless you're a Crane?" Miguel asked, blatantly. "Look. I'll take care of it. I got it under control." Eric leaned back. Charity was noticing Eric's looks. Why is she feeling this way? Of course she loves Miguel. But Eric is definitely different. "Kay are you up for this?" Miguel glared at her, gravely. "Of course I am Miguel. Why would you think I am not? Are you up for it, Miguel?" She returned the question. "You know I am. Especially if I have Charity by my side." Miguel kissed her intimately. Eric slightly rolled his eyes. "Perfect. We'll be over my house on Friday. Are we cool?" Eric was searching for everyone's eyes to see if they've made an agreement. "Look at the time. We better go. Kay aren't you coming?" Charity looked at her when Miguel was helping her up. "Yeah, in a few. Just need to talk to Eric. I'll see you two later." Kay payed attention to Eric without giving Charity and Miguel eye contact. "So everything is going out as planned?" Kay inquisitively doubted him. "Kay darling, really, there is nothing for you to fret about? You will get Miguel and I'll try to distract Charity." Kay didn't look too please when he mentioned it. "No not distract Eric! Get her! Keep her away from Miguel!" Kay nearly shouted. "Someone's real perky tonight." Eric crinkled his nose. "Cut the sarcasm Eric. I'm serious. I really want this to go accordingly the way I want it to." Kay bitched at him. "Fine Kay. Just as long as you don't snap at me through out our weekend party bash. We're cleaned cut." Eric helped her out of her seat. "See you tomorrow then?" Kay turned and looked at him. "Yeah." He pulls off and Kay enters the house. "Kay honey? Who was that?" Grace asked. "Hey Mom! Just a friend." Kay gave a faux grin. "I would like to meet him sometimes." Grace was throwing her a little hint about meeting her 'friend.' "You'll meet him soon ,Mom. I promise." She kissed her mother goodnight. "Charity, I can't wait to spend the weekend with you." Miguel embraced Charity with a bear hug. "Me too, Miguel. I love you so much." Kay wanted to choke when she heard Charity. "I love you, too." He couldn't stop himself from brushing his lips on her. "You won't be saying that any longer, Miguel. Cause you will be mine." Kay smiled, deviously. "Call you in the morning." Miguel told her. "Okay. Talk to you in the morning." Charity closed her door. Kay pretended that she was going to her room. "Hey Kay." Miguel tagged her to the side. "Yes Miguel." Kay was lusting after Miguel's body. 'So hot.' she thought. "I wanted to say I'm happy for you . . ." Miguel started trailing off. "There's a but isn't it?" Kay begins to fluster. "I hope he makes you happy." Miguel gave her a peck on the cheek. "Goodnight Kay." Before Kay could tell him goodnight, she just let him slipped out of her fingers, leaving her speechless. "I really am hoping that this plan of Eric's work. I want to make him jealous. I got to make him notice me. I feel kind of bad using Eric. He is so hot! If I wasn't stuck on Miguel there's no telling where Eric and I would be." Kay noted to herself. Early that morning, Miguel called over the Bennett's house. "Hello?" she answered. "Hey My love. How did you sleep?" He's anticipating for his love to answer. "I'm doing great Miguel. How are you?" Miguel was slightly yawning from his enduring sleep. "Wonderful. I can't wait until we spend the day together." Miguel felt something was wrong. "Charity? Are you ok. I'm fine Miguel. Just coming down with a cold. I'll be ok." She coughed. "I hope so. I'm really looking forward to spend my day with you." She smiled when he say that. "Me too, Miguel, me too. I got to go. I love you." "I love you too." "Bye, Miguel." "Bye Charity." "Morning Kay and Jessica." Grace said, while fixing them some banana pancakes. "Morning Mom." Jessica grabbed some orange juice out of the refrigerator. "Morning Mom." Kay was stretching while slightly yawning. "Hey you guys where's Charity?" Grace was looking confused cause she knows Charity always sit right next to Jessica. "Good morning to all of my fo- three beautiful ladies. Where's my fourth one?" Sam asked. "Good morning darling." Grace kissed him back. "That's what I was asking the other girls." Jessica thought to herself for a minute. "Oh my goodness. I'm sorry mom. I wasn't paying attention cause I had my headphones on. Charity went to your shop. Remember? You told her she could work early, today?" "That's right. My mind must be slipping. I'll go get her some breakfast. I'll be right back." "So how are my two favorite girls?" Sam sat next to Kay and Jessica. "Fine dad." Kay gave a wry grin. "Great dad." Jessica was in all cheers. "Um. Look at the time I got to go. I'll see you all later ok? Bye all." Kay rushed out of the house. Sam was bewildered by her action. "What's gotten in to Kay?" Sam shrugged and was trying to eat breakfast. "Beats me Dad. You know how Kay can be." She laughed while washing her plate. "Even so, I wanted to talk to Kay. I haven't spoken to her in a while cause of my busy schedule." Jessica kissed Sam on the cheek goodbye. "Kay, what are you up to?" He frowned in concentration.
Chapter 4
"Hey Mr. Bennett." Miguel walked in. "Hey Miguel. What can I do to help?" Sam asked while cleaning his dish off. "Have you seen Charity?" Miguel leaned against the counter. "She's at Grace's shop. "Ok. Thanks Mr. Bennett, I'll just go over there." Miguel was about to head out the door. "Miguel, is something bothering you?" Sam stopped him. "No, I'm fine." Sam observed him again. "Really? It seems like something or someone has thrown you off guard." Sam was looking for an answer that Miguel can give him. "I'm fine Mr. Bennett. It's not a big deal. See ya later." Miguel exited before Sam could say anything. "Kids these days." He laughed while talking to himself. Miguel went to visit Charity next door. "Hey Mrs. Bennett. Where's Charity?" He thrust his hands in his pockets. "She's in the back Miguel. You can go back there. I'll see you later on. Have fun." Grace left after saying her good byes to Miguel. "Hey precious." Miguel said while sneaking up on Charity. "Miguel! I'm so glad to see you. How did you sleep last night?" Charity turned to him smiling. "Charity. I've slept wonderfully." He was contemplating to himself. 'I thought Charity already asked me on the phone. Maybe she has forgotten.' "So what are your plans today Miguel?" "I was planning to take you on a ride with my motorcycle and we'll be far away from everybody in Harmony. I wanted us to be alone actually." Charity liked the idea of being alone with him. "Miguel, I'm glad to know that we can be together. Finally by ourselves." He lifted her up. "Me too." He brushed his lips to hers again. "Miguel be careful what if Aunt Grace walks in?" He smiled while looking at her. "She'll understand. After all, she knows we go together. It's no secret." She couldn't stop herself from holding him. "You're right. I get off in like five minutes. You want to leave now?" Miguel's face glistened. "Let's go Charity." She giggled when he was kissing on her neck. "Great Miguel." They both were waiting for Jessica to come in. "Hey Miguel, Charity. I'm here to take over for you." She beamed at Charity. "Thanks Jess. We'll see you later." Miguel hushed her. "That's if there is a later." Jessica and Charity are stunned by Miguel. "Don't let me keep you two." Jessica was putting away her school books. "Bye Jessica." They both left as Jessica closed the door behind them. "Ready Miss Standish?" "I sure am." "Good. We're going to have a good day. It's all about you and me, no one else." "Oh Miguel! I love you so much." "I love you too, Charity." Kay was at the Book Café with Simone. "Simone you, won't believe it." Simone rolled her eyes. "And what would that be Kay?" Kay sipped her hazel nut café. "It burns me every time when I see Miguel and Charity together. I wish Miguel were mine. But that'll never be cause he practically laughed in my face." Simone saw a tear rolling down from Kay's face. "I'm sorry Kay." "No Simone! I am not a guy. I am a woman! When will he wake up to see it?! I am not just one of those damn guys!" Kay was on riding on an emotional trip. "Kay, I don't know what to tell you. You have to give him up." Simone played with the salt and pepper shakers. "Hell no! Simone I'm not giving him up with out a fight!" "What happens if Miguel doesn't want to be with you?" "I'll make him mine, Simone." "Wow, Kay you are pretty determined." "I can't help it! I loved him since day one!" Eric walked in. "Hey ladies. What's happening?" "Nothing Eric. Would you talk some sense in Kay's head? I've done lost my patience with her. Call you later, Kay? Bye Eric." Simone shook her head and left. "Somebody's in a ecstatic mood today." He sarcastically replied. "You know how Simone is . . ." She frowned. "No, I don't know how Simone is please enlighten me?" He chuckled. "Cut it Eric, so are you still on your word to help me get Miguel." Kay beseechingly glared into his eyes. "Kay . . . I'm not so sure. I . . ." Eric clasped his hands together. "Eric, don't you back out on me!" She yelled. "Look Kay! I run on my own turf. I really don't think it's such a wise idea." "Why not?!" Kay tilted her head at him with confusion. "Because . . ." He stuttered. "Oh my goodness! You like Charity don't you?!" Kay slighted shouted. "Well . . ." He hesitated some more. "You do! Eric, do you know what this means?!" He shrugged at her. "No Kay, what does this mean?" He retorted. "I have more of a chance to get Miguel! Eric you are a life saver! I love you for this I could kiss you!!" Eric kind of moved his chair back. "Kay chill! I see that gleam in your eyes and I know what you're thinking. If I could get closer to Charity and take her mind off of Miguel maybe she could fall in love with me." "Eric, I like the way you think. As the old saying goes, 'Great minds think alike.' Come on silly we got work to do." She placed her arm around Eric. "I was afraid you were going to say that." Eric buried his face with his hand. "All we got to do is find Miguel and Charity." Kay's Cheshire's cat grin appeared on her face. "Kay, sometimes darling, you scare me." Eric's green eyes shot at her. "Let's get the moving!" Kay was actually celebrating like it was her 5th birthday. Kay and Eric exited the Book Café. She was stunned by his car. "You drive a Jaguar?!" He nodded at her. "How could you afford something like this?!" "What do you mean?" He slightly frowned as he opened the door for her on the passenger's side. "Eric, you're only a teenager." Eric's sneaky grin appeared as he closed the door and walked to the driver's side. "I'd never said I was." He said to himself. "Ready?" He beamed at her. "Sure. Where could Charity and Miguel be?" Kay was getting frustrated about this whole situation. "Kay, calm down. We're gonna find them." He assured her. "I hope so. We looked everywhere and the evening is about to set." He exasperated. "Kay it's only 5:30." Kay whined some more. "Eric if we don't find them, I will explode!" "Go ahead and explode!" He smirked. "Oh shut up will ya?!" Kay slouched in her seat. "Hey Kay look! Isn't that Miguel's motorcycle?!" Kay managed to sit up. "Yes that is his motorcycle!!!! Eric, you are a genius!" Kay's optimism returned. "Let's go." He said while getting out of his car. "Let's go before they do something drastic!" Kay grumbled impatiently. "Kay it's not like Charity is the kind of girl who would give herself so easily." He indignantly said. "Miguel!!! Charity!!!" Kay ignored Eric's last response. "Fine. Ignore what I'm saying." He muttered. "Miguel do you hear that?" Charity sat up with Miguel. "It sounds like Kay's voice." Charity and Miguel slipped their clothes on. "Come on Miguel." Charity whispered. "Alright." He smiled. Kay and Eric went up to them. "Hey Miguel and Charity." Kay said through her tongue. She hated to see them together, oh how she ached to be in Miguel's arms. "Hey Kay and Eric." Charity smiled at them. "Hey you two." Eric said softly. "What brings you two by?" Miguel's smile disappeared. "Mom told me to tell you guys it's dinner time." Eric was shocked at Kay's shifty idea. "Alright. Miguel thank you for the good time I had with you. I love you so much." Miguel's zealous kiss set Charity on fire. "I love you too, baby." "Somebody pierce my heart with a sword." Kay's stomach churned. "I would be glad to do the honors." He snickered. "Shut up Eric!" Kay cut her eyes at Eric. "You're not that funny." He moved away and skipped the subject. "So how about we all go out again sometimes?" He suggested. "I don't thi-." Charity butted in. "We love to. Right Miguel?" She was waiting for his answer. "Yeah I guess." Miguel's expressions appeared disgruntled. "I think it's a lovely idea." Kay put her two cents in it. "Yeah. Look we all better go home." Miguel and Charity was about to get on the motorcycle. "Miguel is it alright if I rode on your motorcycle with you?" Kay intruded. Eric shook his head and couldn't believe Kay is that desperate to get close to Miguel. "Kay, I actually wanted Charity to ride me. Sorry?" He smiled. Kay's heart was crushed. "Miguel let her. Besides you two haven't talked in a while." Charity offered. Kay smiled with glee. "Remind me to owe you." Kay whispered in Charity's ear. "After all, I want to get to know Eric better since he is dating my cousin." She beamed at him. "Me?!" Eric just caught on to the last word. "Yes. I'll ride in you car." She insisted. "Ok." Eric shrugged and thought 'Why bother?' Before Miguel could utter a word. It was too late, Charity was already in Eric's car and they left immediately. "Come on Kay." He pursed his lips together while griping. "Thanks Miguel." Kay loved the way it feels when she is holding Miguel closely. 'I wish it was Charity behind me. I don't like Eric's character. Something about him seems too good to be true.' Kay was actually indulging herself of having the exact proximity to Miguel. 'This is like a dream come true. I can't wait for the day he is in my arms. Or when he seduces me.' Miguel wasn't delightful of Kay riding in the back. "Kay how are you holding up?" Kay finally awaken from her daze. "I'm ok. Miguel are we almost home yet?" He didn't want to respond to her but he had to. "Yes Kay." He grumbled. "Great. From the look of things Eric and Charity should be on their way too." He sighed and ignored her comment. "Charity. Are you ok?" Eric could tell she was a bit distracted. "I'm Eric. Thanks for giving me a ride home. So Kay and you are together?" She searched for his answer and he nodded his head. "I'm glad you two are happy." He turned to her. "I'm glad I am happy, too. How about you show me around Harmony tomorrow?" Charity was surprised by Eric's suggestion. "Sure, why not." She smiled. "That's if Miguel won't mind?" She touched his hand gently. "No he won't mind. He can understand." Eric was pleased to hear it. 'Kay will probably get what she wants after all.' He couldn't stop smiling. "Eric are we almost there?" He turned left. "Yes. Charity, is Harmony a cool place to be in?" "Yes it is Eric. So many loving people here. Everybody cares about each other. It's nice. I liked it and you'll like it too." She could see The Bennett's house appearing. "Thank you Eric for the lovely ride. I'll see you tomorrow? Ok?" Charity smiled. "Alright. Thanks Charity. See you tomorrow and one more thing Charity, can we keep our day just between you and me? I would feel kind of embarrassed to ask Kay to do it. She rarely have the time. I appreciate it." Charity faced him. "I don't mind and I can keep this to myself." Charity's smile disappeared and she noticed something is peculiar about Eric. His eyes are astonishing. She never seen anything quite like it. "Bye Eric." She closed the door and went upstairs to go to sleep. "I hope Charity made it back safe?" Miguel stopped his motorcycle. "I'm sure she's probably resting Miguel." Kay was irritated every time he mentioned her name. "Miguel . . ." Kay moved closer to him. "Goodnight Kay." He frowned and went back to his place. Kay was torn in two when he flashed his eyes coldly at her. "He may not see it now. Miguel will be mine." Tears were tumbling down her face. She went upstairs and changed her clothes to go to sleep. "He will be mine." She cried herself to sleep.
Chapter 5
“It’s not fair!” Kay woke up and it’s morning. “I loved him first! Not Charity. Why can’t he see I am destined to be with him? I’m the one he should be with.” She frowned. “Hey Kay. I stopped by to see how you were doing. Are you ok?” Simone smiled. “Simone what does it look like?!” She yelled. “Sorry Kay. I’ll come back later when you are feeling better.” Simone heads out the door. “Simone! Wait! Please don’t go.” Simone turned around and looked at her with empathy. “Let me guess? It’s Miguel isn’t it? He hurt your feelings again huh?” Kay didn’t stop her tears from flowing. “No Simone. I was a fool to think he’ll ever love me!” “Kay, please don’t torture yourself. There will be other boys.” Kay is outraged to hear Simone’s way of encouraging her. “Simone there is no other guy for me! I LOVE Miguel. He will always be a part of me! I’ve been there for him since we were kids! Why should I give up on the only man I love because of my bratty blonde bimbo cousin who he thinks he is in ‘love’ with!?” Simone moved back. “I’m sorry Kay. I didn’t mean to upset you. I feel you should let him go.” Kay dropped her bear. “Not if I say so! Before this day is over I will make sure that Miguel knows that I am in love with him!” Kay stormed out and Simone followed after her. “Kay! I’m coming with you.” Kay turned to her. “Fine, but don’t get in my way!” Simone agreed with her and went with her. Kay knocked on the Lopez-Fitzgerald’s house. “Hey Kay, if you’re looking for Miguel. He’s in his room.” Luis had to get his coat so he can go to work. “Thanks Luis.” Kay smiled. “See you girls later.” Luis beamed at them. “Bye Luis.” They said simultaneously. “Kay. What if Miguel is sleeping?” Kay grimaced at Simone. “I’ll just wake him up!” She whispered. Kay was about to knock on Miguel’s door when it was slightly opened. “Oh this is my chance.” She snickered. Kay heard the shower running. “Miguel must be in the shower. I’ll just close these curtains to darken his room and plant a big kiss on the man I love!” Miguel wrapped the towel around his waist. “Today, I get to see Charity. God, I love her so much.” Miguel reminisced on the event that had taken place last night. “She means everything to me.” After he turned off the light in the bathroom. He saw her standing there. “God how much I miss you. I love you so much!” He planted his lips right on her. She stood there speechless. “Miguel. I love you, too” Miguel turned on the light. “Kay?! What are you doing here?! I thought.” “Miguel do you know how long I’ve been waiting to hear you say ‘I love you’ forever.” Miguel’s smile faded. “Kay I do love you but as a friend . . .” He laughed at her. “You are really good. For a minute there I thought you were being for real!” He shook his head and take a look in his closet. “I’ll see you out in a bit.” He shut the door and Kay ran out with tears in her eyes. “Kay . . .” Simone is bewildered by Kay storming out of Miguel’s room. Kay didn’t care if Simone wasn’t behind her and Kay dropped her barrette in Miguel’s room. Miguel came out and he squatted down to examined Kay’s barrette. “Simone?” He said, coming out. “Yes Miguel?” She smiled. “Where did Kay go?” Simone didn’t want to confess to him. “I think she wasn’t feeling very well.” She plopped on the couch. “I wanted to say something to her.” Simone mumbled underneath her breath. “You scare the girl off. There is no way she could ever forgive him.” Miguel sat next to Simone. “Are you sure she didn’t take off because of something I’ve said?” Simone touched his hand. “Believe me Miguel if you did, you would be first to know.” She smiled. “I’ll see you later, I’ll have to go find-get Kay.” Miguel overheard what Simone said about finding Kay. “Why would she take off like that? Doesn’t make any sense.” He shrugged and went on to see Charity. Kay went upstairs and started crying again. “I can never make Miguel mine! I hate him and if he thinks about talking to me forget it.” She heard a knock on the door. “Go away!” They knocked again. “Kay. Are you sure you want me to leave?” She recognized the voice. “Miguel?” She said quietly. She opened the door immediately. “What is it?” She said lowly. “You dropped your barrette at my house. I thought I would give it to you. Have you seen Charity by any chance?” Kay tried not to be so flustered. “No why?” He came in. “I thought she would be here. It’s not like her to not call me.” Kay glared outside her window still crying. “Kay there is something I’ve been meaning to talk with you about.” “Like what?” She sighed out of boredom. “You.” She thought her ears was playing tricks on her. “What did you just say?” He kind of laughed. “I said you. I want you to know that I’m happy for you. Eric seems like an ok guy.” Miguel might as well stabbed her with a seven inched knife. “Eric?” She asked, bewilderedly. “Yeah. I must admit Kay. There is something unusual about him. He doesn’t seem like he knows too much about people in Harmony. He look like the kind who just gets his way all the time.” Kay begin to grimace. “Miguel. I don’t think that would be wise to make judgement on Eric like that. You don’t know him well enough to say.” She pointed out. “True. Kay listen to me. I really want you to be happy. If you see that Eric is truly the man you need. Then I’m behind you all the way.” “Miguel. What would you do if you found out that another girl is in love with you?” Kay sat on her bed. “Kay. It wouldn’t be an open discussion cause Charity is the only woman for me. No other girl can compare to Charity.” He declared. “What would happen if there is another girl in love with you, And she’s been in love with you since day one. What would you do?” He lifted Kay’s chin. “I would tell her there is no way I’ll ever be in love with her cause Charity will always belong to me just like I will always belong to her.” He narrowed his eyes at Kay. When Kay heard that she immediately held back her tears. “What happened if she is your very close friend?” “Kay . . . It doesn’t matter if she kept it from me all this time and she is in love with me for so long that’s her loss NOT mine. I would hate her.” She felt mortified even more. “Because she can’t help the way she feels for you? Miguel that’s way TOO harsh to come from someone like you.” She tried to keep her voice steady. “It’s not, if she tries to break me and Charity up. I will loathe her forever!” Kay started to tremble. “I think you’re being too hard Miguel.” She started to lay down on her bed. “Kay what’s wrong?” He came up to her. “Go away Miguel. Please leave.” She cried. “Did I say something to offend you?” She looked at him. “I want to be alone right now.” He didn’t hesitate and he did what she asked. “Kay’s not herself lately I hope Eric didn’t hurt her.” Kay slammed the door. “How could I’ve been so stupid?! I hate him! Damn him and DAMN everyone else who is in love! I give up!” She couldn’t stop her tears from flowing. “No matter what I’ll do or what I say will matter to Miguel. I’m just one of the boys!” Kay locked the door. “I guess to lose something I’ve never had.” She pouted some more. “I was dumb to think Miguel would love me! I wonder where Eric is at? Maybe I should call him.” Kay went to the phone and started calling for Eric. “Hey Eric if you get this message please call me back. Kay.” she hang up. “Where could he be?” “So you know everything so far about Harmony?” He smiled at her. “Yes Eric I do. If it wasn’t for my mother’s sister. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it.” Eric felt bad for her. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you have lost your mother.” Charity turned to him. “Yes. I miss her very much. But I can feel her love surrounding me. Eric what about your parents?” She asked, smiling at him. “My parents. They come and go as they please. So usually, I handle everything on my own.” He sat on the bench with Charity. “Surely your parents love you Eric.” She reached out for his hand. “I guess but it’s not the same. Love is the last thing my family will ever mention.” “They should love you unconditionally.” “Charity, I’m not debating you on that. It’s complicated.” “Nothing is complicated Eric. It’s simple.” “Where you come from of course it would be. As for me, it’s different.” “You will have someone to love you. She will come before you know it.” “Thanks Charity. I see why Miguel loves you, you are very special. I’m hoping I will find true love.” “You will Eric. There is nothing more important than love.” Eric stared deeply into Charity’s eyes. “Thank you Charity this means a lot to me.” He grinned half-way. “You’ll get her.” Charity gave him a hug. “What was that for?” Eric is startled by Charity’s embrace. “You need love Eric it’s plain to see.” He blushed at her. “Charity you are too sweet. I love to hang out with you more.” She instantly remembered. “What about Kay? How do you feel about her? I know she’ll give you what you need.” She beamed at him. “Kay is nice . . .” He paused. “Are you in love with Kay?” She searched the answer through his eyes. But his eyes were ambiguous. “I think I am. Kay and I are trying to work on it slow.” “There’s nothing wrong with keeping it slow. That’s the best way to have an enduring romance.” She giggled. “Yeah.” He said, lowly. “Charity. I don’t want to hold you up from seeing Miguel.” She didn’t realized how late it was getting. “Oh yes. I completely forgotten about to meet Miguel at Book Café around three. “I hope he’s not upset.” Eric helped her up. “Want me to take you there?” He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. “No thank you Eric. I can walk my way there.” She flashed at him. “Ok. I think I should go see Kay.” He started walking away. “Eric, meet me tomorrow at the same time, ok?” She looked at him standing by his car. “Sure.” he shrugged. “Alright I’ll see you tomorrow.” She left and went straight on to see Miguel. Miguel couldn’t take it anymore. “Charity never stood me up before.” After he exited from the book Café there is Charity. “Miguel. I was just about to come in.” She touched his face. “Charity where were you?! I was scared half to death that you were hurt ir you had disappeared!” He touched her sensually. “Miguel. I’m fine. It’s sweet fo you to worry about me. I didn’t realize of how much time passed me by. Are we still on?” She wrapped her arms around his waist. “Yes.” They went back inside. Kay was about to take some fresh air outside. “Eric? What are you doing here?” He snatched her out of the house. “Kay come with me.” He placed her inside of his car. “What are you doing Eric? My life is over . . . Can I come stay with you? I was just about to run away.” Eric crinkled his nose. “Hardly. Kay running away won’t solve anything. I think I got something that’ll put a smile on your pretty face.” Kay shifted her body towards the window. “Ha! Don’t make me laugh! Nothing will ever be cause Miguel will never love me!” “That’s where you’re wrong beautiful. You’re still in the game.” Kay’s eyes are red from all that crying. “Do you need to get your head examined?! I said I’ve given up on Miguel?!” Kay slammed her fist on the arm rest. “Kay listen to me! I think it’s going to work between Charity and me.” Kay’s jaw begins to drop. “What did you just say?!” Eric nodded at her. “You’ve heard me right. I will spend my day with Charity tomorrow.” Kay thought to herself for a minute. “So that’s why Charity wasn’t around earlier, because of you!” She said aloud. “You named the price.” He smirked. “Oh Eric!!!! Thank you!!!! How will I ever repay you?” He glanced at her. “Well there is one thing . . .”
Chapter 6
"What is it Eric? You name it?" She is so thrilled that she is back in the game. "I want you to distract Miguel for a couple of days." Kay smiled. "You want to me distract him? How long is a couple of days?" She slightly frowned. "Only two, if I’ve said it was four then it would be obvious." He concentrated on the road. "True. I really want to have Miguel to myself, Eric. I love him so much!" Eric kind of chuckled at Kay’s desperation to have Miguel. "You’ll get him. But Kay you got to play it safe. You can’t let him know so soon. Let him notice you." He instructed her. "How am I going to do that?" She smacked her lips. "What do you mean how are you going to do that? It’s simple Kay give him that innocent look." He grinned. "Anything else you have for me, Dr. Freud?" She retaliated. "Kay. I’m serious. Try not to be seductive. Better yet ignore him the way he has ignored you." Kay wanted to slap him for making such a ludicrous statement. "What?! But then he’ll think about Charity." She frowned. "Not really." "Why is that, Eric?" "You’ll see what I mean." He replied, confidently. "You’re the boss." She snickered. "I see you’ve been taking my notes." He sneered. "Yes. Where are we going?" "You’ll see, Kay." "I don’t wanna see. I wanna know, now!" She whined. "It’s gonna have to wait. Behave!" He joked. "Fine. I don’t see why you have to keep me in suspense. It’s nonsense." She shudders. "Patience is a virtue, Kay. Besides, you always supposed to save the best for last." He said, calmly. "I don’t think I can wait too long." She griped, impatiently. "Kay, chill. It’s not going to hurt you. Ok?" He touched her hand gently. "Fine. Great, why are we here?" She shivered when she looked at the park. She remembered the agonizing conversation her and Miguel had a couple days back. "Kay, let’s go." Eric opened the door for her. "Ok Eric." She sighed heavily. "Cheer up Kay, it’s not the end of the world yet." He took her hand. "Thank you Eric. I feel so loved." "Why are you so bitter today?" She cut her eyes at him. "If I were you, I wouldn’t ask that right now!" Eric didn’t like her attitude. "Well, whatever is bugging you. I don’t think you should take it out on me." Kay deeply inhaled and stared at the grass. "You’re right Eric. I shouldn’t take it out on you. Can you forgive me ok?" Then she glared at him. "Yeah. I can forgive you. So whenever you need to talk to me. Give me a holler. I’m right here for you." He gave her a wry smile. "Thanks Eric." Kay started thinking to herself and she finally gave in. "Eric. It’s about Miguel. Seems like no matter what I do. He’ll never love me or see me as a woman." She didn’t want to shed a tear cause she felt it would make her look vulnerable. "Kay. I don’t know what’s going on inside your friend’s head. But anyone can see you’re a pretty girl. And any guy would be lucky to have you." She tsked at his comment. "Ha! The only girl he see as beautiful is ‘Miss I’m Too Good For Anybody’ Charity. I don’t know what he sees in her anyway!" Eric kind of grimaced at Kay’s cruel remark. "Sorry." She sighed, apologetically. "I think you like her Eric more than you’re willing to admit. Is that why you’re asking me to be with Miguel for two days? So you can win Charity’s heart?" He nodded at her. "I don’t mean to burst your bubble, Eric, but Charity is only in love with Miguel like me!" "Kay. I have enough confidence in me to win Charity. I know I’m getting to her. I can see it through her eyes." His voice tightened with a burning passion. "Well, the day you get Charity to love you. That’ll be the day when I believe Miguel will be in love with me." Kay smirked. "You think this is funny, don’t you?" Eric scolded her. "Kay. So what if I want to be with Charity? Is it a crime to fall in love with the girl?! Charity is sweet and loving. I see why Miguel loves her." Eric’s mind floats away. "Shut up Eric!! I don’t wanna hear it!" Kay barked at him. "Kay one-day your envy for Charity is going to hurt you." Eric replied, sympathetically. "That would be for me to worry about then, now wouldn’t it?" She answered. "Fine, if we can’t agree then let’s talk about Miguel." Eric changed the subject. "Ok. How will I get Miguel?" An idea came across Eric’s mind. "I think I got it this is what I want you to do." Eric pulled Kay close to him as he whispered in her ear. "Miguel. Can we take a five minute break?" She asked while rubbing her neck. "Sure Charity. I’ll go order us something to drink, ok?" He touched her easily. "Thanks Miguel. I’ll go to ladies room." He got up and went over to Chad. "What’s up Miguel?" Chad outstretched his hand to Miguel. "Nothing much, what’s up with you?" He grinned. "Trying to make it, man. What’s up with you and the little lady?" He asked while wiping the counter. "Charity is doing pretty good. Sometimes, I worry about her." Chad stopped at what he was doing. "Like how?" "Charity was late today. It’s not like her for not to leave a message. Maybe she’d forgotten." He shrugged. "Hey, it’s a possibility man. You know, I’ve been meaning to talk to you today. It’s about Whitney." Miguel started to grin. "What about Whitney?" Chad could see the twinkle in Miguel’s eyes. "I wanna know why is she so hell bent on me? She makes it seem like I’ve committed sin. Would you tell her I need to talk to her?" Miguel glanced at him. "Sure Chad. I’ll see what I can do." Chad lets out a sigh of relief. "Thanks man. I owe you one. If there is anything I can do. Let me know ok?" Miguel smiled. "Thanks Chad." he turned around to see Charity. "There you are, beautiful." Charity hugged him as he greeted her with his ardent kiss. "Miguel. I’m glad we’re spending this moment together." She lays her head on his chest. "Me too, Charity. You know I think we should go. It’s getting kind of late. And I want us to finish studying in my room. If that’s alright with you?" She glanced at him. "Sure Miguel. You know I want to study with you. I want to be alone with you anyway." She touched his face. "I’m feeling the same way." They went to the table and had to take their things with them. Before they head out of the Book Café they told Chad goodbye as they head on over to his house. "I hope this will work, Eric." Kay tried to be optimistic. Eric placed his arm around her. "Kay, honey it will work. You just got to believe it will happen." He assured her. "I guess." She didn’t want to smile. "I really don’t want to go back home, Eric. Where can I go?" Eric seemed to be stunned by Kay’s reaction. "Do you want me to take you to Simone’s place?" He offered. "Yes I would like that. Would you do that for me, please?" She didn’t bother to look at him all her mind was on winning Miguel. "Sure." Kay and Eric walked back to his car. He closed the door after her helped her in. "Tomorrow Charity. I will want to see you again." He said to himself. "Ready?" He smiled. "Ready." She said flatly. "Thank you, Eric. I don’t know how to repay you." She replied quietly. "You don’t have to Kay. It’s my pleasure." He replied, confidently. "Thanks for dropping me off." Kay got out of the car and ready to go inside Simone’s house. "You’re welcome, Kay. I’ll tell you everything that will happen tomorrow, ok?" He shot his mysterious eyes at her. "Ok Eric. Wish me luck." She gave a wry grin. "Wish me luck as well beautiful." He smirked. "Alright Eric. Good luck." She kissed him on the cheek. "Good luck to you too, Kay." He kissed her on the cheek back. "Hey Kay. Are you and Eric going together?" Simone’s eyes glowed with curiosity. "Simone no! I might be back in the game after all." Kay’s demonic smile appeared. "Kay! You’re not thinking about seducing Miguel are you?!" Simone slightly shouted. "Shhh . . . Keep your voice down Simone, we don’t want to make your parents suspicious." She whispered. "Sorry Kay. But I can’t believe you’re going to seduce Miguel after all." She plopped on her bed. "Yeah well. Miguel will be mine even if it kills me!" "Kay, you’re really planning to go through this aren’t you?!" Simone demanded. "Yes Simone! I love him! No one can stop me from loving Miguel?! I’ve felt he is rightfully mine!" She yelled. "Yeah at this moment, so to speak, he rightfully belongs with Charity." She pointed out. "Like Hell?! I loved him first, Simone! Not bratty bimbo, Charity?!!! What does he see in my wacko cousin of mine anyway?! All she do is hurt people. Remembered how me and Miguel were trapped in the shed?! She planted those snakes in there! I know she did!" Kay begins to fluster. "But you don’t know that!" She reminded Kay. "Oh like a jackass, I don’t?! I know she is BEHIND it!!!!" Kay stomped her foot. "Kay, calm down. I just can’t imagine Charity would do-" Kay interrupted her. "Don’t defend for her, Simone?! Charity knew damn well what she was doing?! I still say she is up to something. I bet she is having the luxury of washing it in my face religiously that she has Miguel and not me!" Kay tried not to shed a tear. "Kay. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to say it. It’s just I can’t fathom of how you’re going to get Miguel." She frowned in concentration. "In due time, Simone." Kay clasped her hands together. "In due time." She giggled. "Enough about me, I just want to get ready for this plan for tomorrow." Simone sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. "I’m almost afraid to ask of what it is." She retorted. "Simone . . . I KNOW I can get Miguel, permanently." She jeered.
Chapter 7
Charity got up to get dress. Today, she decided she want to look pretty, but prettier than ususal. "I should wear this today." She had this lavender sweater with this white top and this floral purple skirt. "Hmm. I hope this is not too much when I see him." She said to herself. "I’m planning to have fun today. I know he will, too. I hope I don’t make him nervous around me." She started to fret. Charity went downstairs to get her something to eat. "Such a beautiful morning. Isn’t it Kay?" She inhaled the sweet aroma from outside through their window. "I couldn’t agree with you more." Kay smiled back. "Oh you have plans today?" She turned to look at her. "Not really. I’ll be staying home all day." Kay sipped on a cup of hazel nut, she bought from the Book Café. "Kay, you never stay at home. Don’t you have practice?" Charity asked bewilderedly. "Nope. Today is Kay Skip Day." She retaliated. "Kay . . . you know your parents wouldn’t be too thrilled about you doing that." Charity pointed out. "I know. I was just kidding Charity. Couldn’t you tell?!" She snapped and Charity gave her a stern look. "Sorry Charity. I didn’t mean to snap. I’m just a nervous wreck." Charity smiled. "Apology accepted. What are you so apprehensive about?" She sat beside Kay. "About making it through another day. Um. I got to go, Charity. See ya later." Kay ran upstairs and Eric arrived at the door. "Hey Charity. Are you ready?" He flashed his million dollar smile at her. "Yep." She smiled at him. "Wow Charity! You look fantastic! And you smell good." he whispered in her ear sexually. "Thank you." She blushed. The aura of her presence makes Eric tremble. "Eric, where are we going?" She asked out of curiosity. "You’ll see. It’s my turn since you’ve showed me around." He smirked. "Aw Eric, that is sweet of you to do so." She beamed at him. "Why?" She asked. "Cause I wanted to show you how grateful I am." He placed his arm around her. "Thanks Eric." She felt safe in his arms. "What are we waiting for, let’s get going?" She smiled. "I hope Kay doesn’t mind me spending time with you?" "Kay doesn’t mind. Actually, she is comfortable with me being with you. I talked to her about it last night. She said she wanted me and you to get to know each other better." Charity was stunned. "Wow Eric. I didn’t think she wouldn’t let it bother her. She proved me wrong." She stated flatly. "Kay is FULL of surprises." He chuckled. "Yeah I guess. Come on let’s go." She walked out with him. "Yes ma’am." He teased. "You are silly." She shook her head. Kay is feeling cozy being in her pajamas. "I’m not doing anything today. I get to have the house to myself." She sighed out of relief, until she heard someone knocking on the door. She saw it was Miguel. "I should pretend I’m sleeping. Hell. I better get out of here." She went back upstairs to change her clothes. She went to the back stairs and open the door and Miguel is already standing there. "Miguel?! What a surprise?" She stood there wide eyed. "What’s up, Kay? Have you seen Charity?" He smiled. "Earlier, but I don’t know where she went." She shrugged. "Again?! Where are you going?" He glanced at her. "Me? Um I got plans, Miguel. I’ll see ya some other time." She walked passed him. "Can’t I come?" He pulled her back. "Miguel, it’s nothing you’re interested in. See ya around ok?" That was hard for Kay to do to ignore Miguel. "Kay . . ." She left him there speechless. "Oh I hated doing this to him! But I had to!" she noted to herself. Miguel looked at her strangely. "That’s not like her to not ask me to come with her. I wonder what’s going on with her? I should go ask Simone." Miguel knocked on Simone’s door. "Hey Miguel." She smiled. "Hey Simone. Does Kay have any plans with you?" She invited him in. "No. Actually, my parents and I are going out of town because Whitney has a tennis tournament." She closed the door. "Tell Whitney." Whitney came downstairs before Miguel could finish his sentence. "Hey Miguel." She smiled. "Hey Whit. How are you?" He smiled back. "I’m good. You?" She stared at him. "I’m ok. Good luck." He encouraged her. "Thanks Miguel." She went in the kitchen. "So Kay is not being with you today? Is she going to be with, Eric?" He asked out of concerned. "No. She said she wants to be alone." She shrugged. "Want anything to drink?" Simone offered. "Sure." He smiled and Simone went to the kitchen. "Why would Kay want to be alone? She always hang out with people. Why the sudden change?" "Here Miguel." She handed him a glass of water. "Thanks. So Kay decided to hang with no one? Are you sure she’s not avoiding me?" He interrogated. "I don’t know, Miguel. I haven’t talked to her lately. She’s been distant that’s all." She shrugged. "Speaking of her being distant. I don’t get it why she kept on asking me about another girl might be in love with me? When I know it’s not true and Charity is the only one who loves me." He smiled. Simone nearly choked. "Miguel, hasn’t it occur to you that she might be right?" Simone sighed. "What do you mean?" He looked at her blankly. "You never thought it would be possible for another girl to love?" "Nope. I’ll see you later, Simone. If you see Kay. Tell her I want to talk to her." He said flatly. "Ok Miguel." Simone frowned after he left. "What was that all about?" Whitney quizzed her. "Beats me." She shrugged. "Let’s go. Mom and Dad are waiting for us outside." Simone grabbed her things. "I’m ready." She smiled. "Good. Let’s get out of here." They both laughed. Miguel seen Kay over at the Book Café chatting with Chad. He walked in. "Hey Chad, gotta go!" Kay tried to leave immediately but Miguel caught her. "Kay, come here." He said firmly. "Yeah Miguel?" She sighed and looked at him. "Kay Bennett, where do you think you’re going?" Miguel went to her. "Miguel . . . I really must go. I’m going to be late. Talk to me tomorrow." She set herself free form Miguel’s arms. He was baffled and didn’t know what to do. "Eric, so where are you taking me?" She asked him. "You’ll see. I don’t wanna ruin it." he snickered. "Ok Eric." She muttered. "I know you’ll find it astonishing." She locked her eyes on his. "I think I will." She said confidently. "Ok we’re here." He helped her out of the car. "Wow! Eric, you know someone who lives here?" Charity is in total awe. "I live here Charity this is my house." She was puzzled and in disbelief. "Your parents live here with you too?" Her eyes widened. "No. My parents left the estate to me." He smiled. "Let’s go inside." "Eric, this is lovely. Such extravagance! How old are you?" She looked at him. "I’m twenty." He smiled. "Oh Eric. Does Kay knows about you being rich?" She examined his expression. "No, she doesn’t know. You’re the first one I’ve told so far." He crimsoned. "Oh Eric. This is beautiful." She couldn’t stop smiling. "Charity. I know this is sudden but I’ve been meaning to give this to you." He held out a gift to her. "Is it safe for me to open?" she teased. "I hope so!" He joked. When she opened it. She nearly cried. "Oh my god! Eric this is so beautiful!" He gave her a 24 karat gold diamond bracelet. "You like?" He questioned. "Eric. I can’t accept this. It’s lovely. But this should be given to Kay." She said earnestly. "But this is your friendship bracelet. It has your name engraved on it. You are very special to me, Charity. You’ve been kind to me when I got here." He smiled. "Eric. I don’t know what to say." It’s something about his mysterious eyes. She find to be astoundingly bedazzled. "Eric, what is it about you?" She said in a trance. "What do you mean?" He tried to understand what she meant. "You are different. You are not like any other man I’ve ever known." Charity couldn’t help herself. "You’re special to me too, Charity.’ Eric couldn’t take it anymore. He leaned over and kissed her. The kiss they’ve shared is ardent, tempting, and sensual. "Eric . . ." She was shocked. "I think I should go." She started to leave and Eric held her back. "Don’t go." He whispered. Charity turned around and stepped up to him. "Eric. What we did was wrong." He shook his head. "I don’t think so." He pulled her into his arms as he kissed her again. She didn’t hold back. Why did she let Eric kiss her? Is it because she wanted him to or because she wanted to? Her true love is Miguel, so why would she let another man kiss her so fervently? "Eric . . . kiss me again." She said weakly. "Don’t you stop." She smiled. "Are you sure? Maybe I should hold back." He touched her sensually. "Eric . . Kiss me." He brushed his lips on her again. Eric picked her up. "Eric, put me down silly." She giggled. "I don’t want to. Let me love you, Charity." He touched her easily. "Eric. I want to take it slow. Let’s get to know each other ok?" She beamed at him. "Alright. I should take you back home, huh?" He giggled. "Yeah." She said quietly. Eric helped her into the car. The drive remained silent all the way back. She got out of the car and kissed him again. She went upstairs to her room. "I should go see Miguel." She opened the door. "Charity, where have you been?" Miguel said lowly. "Miguel?! I’m sorry. I’ve forgotten." She said out of shock. "How could you forget our date tonight?" "Miguel. I didn’t mean to." He came up to her. "What were you thinking?!" He yelled. "I’m sorry Miguel. I’ve forgotten." He narrowed his eyes at her. "Charity, we promised each other." He grimaced. "I know." She mumbled. "Honestly Miguel, I didn’t mean to do it. I’m so sorry." She sighed apologetically. He glanced at Charity and held her close. "I forgive you." He smiled. "I didn’t mean to yell at you." Charity felt a little relieved that Miguel has come back to his senses. "We’re still not late. There is something I have for you." He went to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. Charity just realized she has on the bracelet. She hid it in her drawer. He comes out and touched her softly. "Charity, you’re ready?" He lend his hand out to Charity. "Yes, I’m ready." She tried to shake off what happened to her earlier. "I love you, Charity." He kissed her before heading out the door. "I love you too, Miguel." They both left the Bennett’s house. "So where are we going?" Miguel gave her the ‘I’m not telling you’ look. "Charity it’s a surprise. Let’s keep it this way until you get it." He whispered. "Ok." She smiled. Eric stopped by to see Kay. "Hey Kay." He embraced her. "Hey Eric, I really hope this plan of yours will work. I want to get Miguel." She tried to be optimistic. "Don’t good things comes to those who wait?" He jeered. "It’s taking too long! How will it happen for me?! I hate Charity with a passion! I loved him first and it’s not fair he doesn’t think about me!" She held back her tears. "Kay sweetie. I think you’re going to be thrilled once I tell you what happened tonight." He rubbed his hands with pleasure. "Spare me Eric, if it’s more bad news then I don’t wanna hear it, k?" She glared at him. "Kay, trust me you’ll like this one. I gave Charity something she can’t resist." He grinned roguishly. "What is that supposed to mean?" She looked at him blankly. "Kay darling it will fall into place. I can’t give away too soon. Or otherwise it won’t be any fun." He replied sarcastically. "I can’t wait." She retorted. "Baby girl, you’re going to thank me!" He picked her up off the ground. "I’ll have to see it to believe it." She retaliated.
Chapter 8
Charity decided to wear something sensual for Miguel. She had this dress, sleeveless. It’s fuchsia with baby pink flowers. Her hair fixed in a dramatic up-sweep. "Tonight is the night, for me and Miguel. Although, I must say the kiss Eric and I shared yesterday was exhilarating." She smiled while thinking to herself. She dabbed some perfume on her to make the event right. "Oh." She sighed heavily. "Why can’t I stop thinking about you, Eric? Why is your kiss leaving an effect on me to want you more?" She said to herself. She heard the doorbell ringing. She rushed downstairs and opened the door. "Eric?" Her eyes widened with interest. "Hi Charity . . ." He started to blush. "I thought I would come by and see you." He smiled. "Me? Why?" She laughed anxiously. "Yeah. I’m sorry, Charity. I couldn’t stop thinking about our kiss. It means a lot to me. I know the kiss we’ve shared is ardent and endearing. I was hoping you’ve felt it was not a mistake." He paused. "A mistake? Eric . . . we do need to talk about this. Actually, I’ve enjoyed the kiss. I really liked it. You’ve made me see a totally different perspective on love." Eric searched through her eyes to find the answer. "Like how?" He asked, apprehensively. "I’m not sure if I can keep my love for Miguel." Her mind is transcending into a trance. His eyes glistened when she mentioned it. What is his ulterior motive? Why does he want Charity so much? "Charity, I don’t want you to change your love for Miguel. After all, he is your first love." He touched her face gently. "Eric, forgive me but I must do this." She pulled him into a kiss. He didn’t held back. He was a little stunned from Charity’s aggression. "Charity, what was that for?" He didn’t step back from her either. "I want to spend my night with you." Kay overheard their conversation. "What?!" She whispered. "I thought she was going to be with Miguel tonight." She frowned. "Isn’t this yours and Miguel’s night?" He looked at her quizzically. "Yes . . . Miguel will understand." She smiled. "Charity, don’t you want to let him know?" He examined her carefully. "No. Why should I? I feel the need to be with you." Her eyes grew dark with a carnal mystery. "What ever you want Charity. Where do you want to go?" He thrust his hands in his pockets. "To your place." She took his hand in hers. He followed after her. Kay came downstairs. "I wonder what those two could be up to?" She asked herself suspiciously. She heard a knock. "Hmm. I wonder who could it be now. If it’s Simone. I must talk to her." She rushed to the door. "Hey Si-Miguel?!" She stood there frozen. "Hey Kay. Where’s Charity?" Her smile disappeared. "Check her room, she might be in there." She went to her room and slammed her door. "Why can’t he ask about me?! Why can’t he love me?! It’s not fair." She started to pout. "No more Kay. It’s time to look pretty for yourself." She tried to encourage herself. She put on this spaghetti strapped royal blue dress with baby blue floral print. She applied on her make-up. Neutral colors to make her glow more. She started combing her hair. She wasn’t sure if she wants to wear it up or down. "I think I should wear it up." She smiled half way. "I think you should wear it down." She shrieked. "Miguel?! Wha-what are you doing here?" She interrogated apprehensively. "Charity’s not around." He looked real nice too, in his tux. "I thought she was in her room." she lied. "You look beautiful. Are you on a date tonight?" He gave her a glassy look. "No, not really." She whispered. "I just felt like dressing up tonight. That’s all." She shrugged. "Kay is something wrong?" He went up to her. "No Miguel. I-I have to go." She grabbed her purse, she really didn’t want to face another heart break. "Where are you going? I want to come with you if you don’t mind?" He gestured her with a friendly smile. "No Miguel. It’s ok. You don’t have to feel sorry for me. I know how you think of me." She sniffled. "Like how?" He looked at her blankly. "I must leave, ok? Night Miguel." She went downstairs leaving him speechless. "Kay wait up!" He yelled and she was already gone "Damn! What did I do?" he quizzed himself. "I can’t believe he thinks the worst of me. I was an idiot to believe that me and Miguel would have a chance together. Now that he’s with Charity. What can I do?" She frowned. She sat on the bench at the park trying to remain in serenity. "Sure is beautiful tonight, right?" She looked up. "Miguel?" She wiped her tears. "What do you want?" She asked, irritably. "Kay. Did I say something to offend you?" He sat beside her. "No." She denied quickly. "Kay, you know you can talk to me, right?" He tried to search for her eyes, but she remained obstinate to look at him. "Yea, I know." She mumbled. He put his arm around her. "Well talk to me. What’s going on? Did Eric break your heart?" She glared at him. "Something like that." She shrugged. "I’m sorry, Kay. Seems like it’s you and me tonight." He hugged her. "Yea." She muttered. "All I ever wanted is someone to love me." She said, disappointedly. "Kay, you will find that special someone." He smiled. "You are a great gi-woman." He lifted her chin. "Thanks Miguel. But I know you don’t mean it." She replied bitterly. She got up and stood by the tree. "Kay? What is that supposed to mean?" He grimaced. "Nothing, just go away." She grumbled. "Kay. Why are you so distant from me?" He came near her. She could feel his body heat towards her body. "I’ll be fine, Miguel." She moved away. "Kay talk to me!" She turned around and gave him an evil look. "Miguel, you don’t want me to talk to you. Just go away!" She blared at him. "Kay. I don’t know what’s agitating you. Obviously you need to let some of that tension out." He suggested. "You know what, I really don’t need sage advice." She pouted out her lip. "Fine Kay." He said bitterly. "You know what I see? I see a girl who is blossoming into a ravishing woman." He responded coquettishly and step close to her. "Miguel. Please save it for Charity. I really don’t want it." She cried. "Kay. I have known you all of my life. This is not like you, you always get what you wanted. You had had so many things right in front of you and seen it explicitly. You know I’ve always been implicit on certain topics. I’ve admired you in various of ways. Kay, you know how to make me laugh. You always kept me company when my leg was broken a long time ago." He smiled. "Yea," She spoken softly. "I don’t see where this leading to, Miguel?" She crinkled her nose. "What I’m trying to say, Kay is you deserve someone better than Eric. You will find yourself someone who will be worthy of you." He cupped his hands on her face. "Miguel. I may never get that love so don’t give me false hopes." She looked down at the ground. "Kay. Look at me. I’m not trying to lead you on. That’s the last thing I want to do." He smiled again. "Yeah well. I should go home." She tried to released herself from him. "No Kay. Not until I finish with what I have to say." He glanced at her. "I’ve think you’d said enough." she retorted. "No, I didn’t." He brushed his lips against hers and he is actually kissing her! She pulled away. "No Miguel." he disregarded of what she just said and kissed her again. She started to tremble with him kissing her fervently. "Miguel, don’t do this to me." She said weakly. "Do what? When I saw you tonight in your dress. You’ve shown me another side of you. "I’m not following you." She started to fluster. "Sex appeal, I see clearly coming from you." Her jaw dropped. "Miguel you-you don’t mean it." She turned away. "Yes I do mean it. Kay, do you know what you’re doing to me?" She shook her head. "When you told me you was busy all day. I was crushed. Cause you’ve always made time for me. I feel bad for not making time for you." He held her in his arms. "Kay, I want you to come with me." He took her hand. "I don’t think so Miguel. How about some other time?" She started contemplating to herself. ‘Kay, what is wrong with you?! Here is the perfect opportunity to seduce Miguel! And what are you doing?! You are simply passing up the offer. Don’t be a fool! Take advantage.’ She thought about it again. "Miguel, thanks but no thanks." He looked puzzled. "Kay? Why are you avoiding me?" "I’m not avoiding you. I think I should go home to get some rest!" She ran off and he exasperated. "Miguel didn’t mean to kiss me. All he wanted to prove that he still cared for me as a friend that’s it!" She went upstairs. "I don’t care if I don’t ever see Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald again!" She sobbed and went to take a shower. "Well I wonder what Eric and Charity are doing?" "Charity, are you sure you want this?" He asked her while kissing her. "I want this more than ever, Eric." She kissed him back. "Charity, let’s do it."
Chapter 9
"Eric, thank you for the lovely evening." Charity said getting out of his car. He walks her to her house. "You’re welcome." He touched her easily. "Charity. You are so beautiful." He is bedazzled by her beauty. "Is it alright if I kiss you?" Charity didn’t hold herself back from Eric. His kiss was captivating and ardent. How she has longed for his kiss? "Shall I see you tomorrow?" He smiled. "Yes, you sure can. Eric thank you." She said sincerely. "Charity, I’ve already said it once. Why are you thanking me again?" He looked confused. "You are special to me. Goodnight Eric." she kissed him on the lips one last time. "Night Charity." He got inside of his car and left. Charity went upstairs. Miguel saw the whole thing. He was devastated. He went inside of the Bennett’s house and escalated the stairs. He opened the door and sat beside her bed. "Shhh . . . are you awake?" He covered his hand over her mouth. "I’m not going to bite." he beamed at her. "Miguel?! What are you doing here?!" She whispered. "Make love to me tonight." He demanded. "You want me to do what?!" She whispered again. "Make love to me now." He kissed her again and again. This time he didn’t bother to stop touching her and slipping off her nightwear. "Miguel? Are you sure you want to do this?" She looked at him blankly. "Of course I’m sure. Make love to me." She did what he told her. He placed himself on top of her. "I want you to love every moment. I want you to feel special." He brushed her hair out of her face. "Miguel, why?" He hushed her with his finger over her mouth. "Don’t say another word. This is about you and me." He slide off her underwear. He inserted himself thoroughly in her. "Miguel." she cried out weakly. "Are you ok?" he could see the tears rolling down her face. "Yea, I’m fine." she had to let it absorb through her, this is her first time letting a man getting that close to her. "I love you, Miguel." She sighed sweetly. He kissed her and finished his work on her. He took his time, letting her know that he wasn’t planning to leave until he get what he’d came here for. The next morning, she woke up and Miguel was gone. "Where could he be?" She stared at her bed blankly. "Time to get up. It’s a new day" she went to the shower. "Last night was so wonderful." She decided to look pretty today. Except this time she wanted to be different. She woke up as a woman. She went downstairs. "Morning Kay." Grace said while fixing pancakes. "Kay, you look so pretty. How come?" Sam glistened at his daughter’s appearance. "I just felt like it dad. Nothing big. "I want to be early so I can talk to Simone. You don’t mind if I skip out on breakfast today, do you?" Sam shook his head. "Have fun." He smiled. "Be careful honey." Grace shouted out. Kay visited at Simone’s house. "Mom. I’ll get it!" Simone shouted. "Kay?!" Simone looked at her bewilderedly. "Simone!! I got so much to tell you. Let’s go upstairs!" Kay is nearly about to lose her mind. "Gee, what has gotten you in a cheery mood?" Simone half way smiled. "Get ready to brace yourself! Miguel and I made love! Miguel made love to me!" She jumped out of her skin. Simone stood there speechless. "Get out of here! You and Miguel made love!" Simone remembered that her folks are still at home. "Yes Simone! He came to my bedroom last night and made love to me!" Simone’s smile didn’t last very long. "Was Miguel aware that he did it with you?" Simone interrogated. "Simone?! How could you say something like that?!" "Why would Miguel make love to you? No offense." Simone held her smirk. "Simone! He made me feel like a woman! Today is the day, Miguel will finally admit that he loves me!" Kay rejoiced. "I hope he does for your sake." Simone grabbed her coat out of her closet. "Let’s go, Kay before we’re too late." Kay looked at Simone blankly. "For what?" Simone dropped her jaw. "Remember we promised Luis that we would help him decorate the Youth Center for the Halloween Party?" Simone searched through Kay’s lovesick eyes. "Yeah. I remember. Let’s go." Kay mumbled. "I’m hoping I’ll see Miguel there!" Kay jumped like a little girl who was waiting to open her presents on Christmas morn. Simone shook her head. "You’re hopeless." They went to the Youth Center and everyone was there. "Hey Kay. Simone." Luis smiled. "Hey Luis." They said simultaneously. "Kay . . ." Luis pulled Kay to the side. "I know I said dress properly to decorate the Youth Center today. I didn’t think you would look so pretty for this." He beamed at her. "I’m sorry what, Luis?" Kay didn’t bother to hear what Luis said. "Never mind. You look lovely." He kissed her on the cheek. "Don’t hurt yourself." He said cautiously. "I won’t, Luis." she blushed. She went to Simone. "There he is!" She whispered. "He’s coming this way!" Miguel walked up to them. "Hey Simone." He smiled. "Hey Miguel." He glanced over at Kay. "Hey Kay." He said softly. "Simone, do you mind? Kay and I need to talk alone." He touched Simone softly. "Not at all, Miguel." She looked at them and could tell there was something going on between those two. "Yes Miguel?" She said quietly. "How are you feeling?" He pulled her away from the gym and the went inside of Luis’ office. "I’m feeling great, Miguel! Thank you for giving me the most wonderful time of my life!" She hugged him firmly. "The pleasure is all mine." He grinned roguishly. "I’ve enjoyed last night, too." He pulled back and kissed her passionately. "Miguel . . ." She was speechless. "Careful. We don’t want anyone to see us." He couldn’t help but to snicker. "Since when did you get embarrassed about anything Kay?" He asked her gently. "Sorry." She lowered her eyes. "You’re ok." He pressed his thumb on her lips. "Don’t say another word. Kiss me." His eyes led her into a kiss again. He didn’t stop kissing her. "Miguel. Do you have any idea of how much you mean to me?" Kay smiled while staring at him. He shook his head. "I love you, Miguel. I’ve loved you ever since we were kids!" She hugged him again. "You love me?" He repeated back easily. "Kay . . . I didn’t know you felt this way about me." He seemed to be flattered. At least, that is what Kay is hoping for. He held her in his arms. "I’m glad that you love me! I promise I’ll be true to you." He smiled. "Miguel? Are you saying we have a future together?" Miguel nodded his head. "Oh Miguel!!" Kay didn’t let go of Miguel. "Kay . . . we will be together." He kissed her again. "Now why don’t we head back to decorate the Youth Center. We’ll discuss this later, ok?" He smiled. "Ok Miguel." Kay and Miguel went back to help the others. Kay stood by Simone. "Hey Simone this is going to be my lucky day." She grinned. "Why it doesn’t seem to surprise me?" Simone retorted. "Hey Miguel . . ." Charity kissed him. "Hey Charity." he whispered. "I missed you. I want us to do something tonight." He nibbled on his ear. "Like what?" Miguel couldn’t refuse to look at her innocent face. "I want us to make love tonight. I want us to celebrate our love. I want to give my all to you and I want you to give your all to me." Miguel looked at her bizarrely. "You do?" He stated flatly. "Yes Miguel. I can’t hold back from you any longer." She kissed him again. "Charity . . . I." She stopped him from talking and landed her precious kiss on him. "Alright, since you’ve convinced me. We’re going to make this night ours." His mind went back to what Charity did. The kiss Charity gave to Eric made Miguel feel mortified. "So I take it as a yes?" Charity cupped her hands on his face. "Yeah. You got yourself a date." He kissed her again. While Kay went to the bathroom. Simone saw Miguel and Charity kissing. "Poor Kay, she’s about to be in another downfall." Simone sighed sympathetically. "Simone, I need you to do a favor for me?" Luis asked while standing behind her. "Luis!" Simone shrieked. "Are you ok?" he snickered. "Yeah. I’m fine . . . what can I do for you?" She smiled after catching her breath. "I want you and Kay to go to my house and grab some of the decorations from last year." He smiled. "Sure." She saw Kay and grabbed her hand immediately. "Simone, where are we going?" Kay asked out of confusion. "Luis wanted us to get some decorations from last Halloween at his house." Kay tried to straighten her expression. "Ok, whatever you say." "Hey sexy." Sheridan kissed him. "Hey Sheridan. What brings you by?" He smirked. "Luis, you know I came here to help you all decorate." She wrapped her arms around his waist. "Good. Then are you planning to see me after?" he kissed her. "You bet. I have something waiting for you at the cottage. Something you and should be doing every night without any interruptions." She kissed him back. "Oh, you got yourself a deal Ms. Crane." He couldn’t stop pressing his lips on hers. "Is it safe for us to leave early?" Sheridan whined sexually. "Not yet. Later is always better." He jeered. "Fine, be that way." Sheridan pouted. He laughed and they both decided to help everyone else. Charity is ecstatic to have Miguel with her tonight. This moment is theirs. "Charity, you look so beautiful." Miguel is in total awe. "You like?" Charity sneaked in a smile. "Like? I LOVE it." He stressed. Charity climbed on top of him and kissed him with a burning passion. "Charity, you’re sure about this?" She touched his face and still was kissing him. "Yes, I’m sure Miguel. This night is ours. Nothing can come between us. I love being with you. I want to give my all to you." She smiled. "I’m ready to give my all to you, too." He kissed her back and didn’t stop. He wanted to hurt Eric for touching Charity intimately. He wanted to be Charity’s first. But he’s going to love her anyway, it doesn’t matter anymore. Their love is lost forever. Miguel took his time with sliding off her clothes as she slide off his. He pressed his lips gently on her to her neck to her body. Sensually they unite their hands with each other like an ionic bond. "Charity, I love you." He kissed her even more. "I love you too, Miguel." he take her in his arms and lays her on the bed. "I promise to go slow and easy." He beamed. "Yes, we do have all night." This is finally it! Charity and Miguel makes love. He inserted his body with hers. She felt her body going through a change. "Miguel . . ." She replied faintly. "This is wonderful." caressing each other tenderly, embracing skin to skin. Feeling the exotic movements of each other. With him kissing on her breasts, and her exhaling freely. This is a mutual feeling. Nothing about it was tempting, just pure love. She feels right when she is with him. She loved being with him. He feels the exact same way with her. "Together forever, Miguel." She whispered. "Together forever." He whispered back. After their secret rendevous of love Miguel lifted himself off of her and he look below and he realize blood was stained in-between her legs. He was horrified to learn the truth. ‘Oh my god. What have I done?’ He thought to himself.
Chapter 10
Kay glanced at herself in the mirror. "I will get to see Miguel. I’ll never forget the night we have spent with together. Miguel really loves me." Kay reminded herself this is the day where she and Miguel will be together. She heard the doorbell. Just when she was about to answer it, it was too late. Charity answered the door. She saw Miguel kissing on Charity passionately. It ripped her apart. "No!" She blurted out. She ran upstairs. "This can’t be! Miguel swore to me it was going to be us! Not fair. Everything he told me was a lie!" Kay cried incessantly. "How can this be? It must be a dream. That’s it, I’m dreaming." Kay told herself. "It’s my fears taking over me." Kay got herself together and went downstairs to the kitchen to find her something to eat. "Morning Kay." Grace kissed her on the cheek. "Hi Mom." Kay said quietly. "How did you sleep?" Kay didn’t hear what her mother asked her. "Kay? Are you alright, honey?" Grace examined her studiously. Kay heard Miguel’s and Charity’s voices coming closer. "Bye Mom. I’ll see ya later." Kay kissed her goodbye. "Kay?" Grace is speechless by her daughter’s mysterious behavior. Grace shook the feeling off. "Morning Charity and Miguel." She turned to them with a smile. "Good morning, Aunt Grace." Charity gleefully replied. "Good morning, Mrs. Bennett." Miguel held Charity in his arms. "What’s for breakfast?" Charity asked. "Blueberry pancakes." "Too bad Kay isn’t here to enjoy them. She loves them." Grace frowned. "I will see you kids later. I have to go to the shop. Have fun." Grace smiled. "Bye." They said simultaneously. "Open up." Charity had the fork in her hand ready to feed him blueberry pancakes. "Mmm. These sure taste good." Miguel smiled and kissed her. Jessica smiled. "Aw. Look at the two love birds." She teased. "Hey Jessica." They replied while kissing. "Where’s my bum sister?" Charity and Miguel looked at her blankly. "We wouldn’t know." Charity beamed. "She’s always lucking out, knowing she’s supposed to help me with dinner later on." Jessica shook her head out of frustration. "Jessica, maybe Kay will help you out later. You got to give her a chance." Charity tried to give Jessica hope. Miguel sat there in muteness. "Miguel, you know Kay will be able to help Jessica, right?" Miguel thought about something and he had to leave. "See you later, Charity." He smiled and kissed her goodbye. "Later Jessica." Jessica crinkled her nose. "What’s up with Miguel?" Jessica glanced at Charity. "I don’t know, but I’m hoping he’ll tell me later." Charity finished eating and cleaned out her plate. "Charity, you seem different." Jessica smiled foolishly. "Like how?" Charity turned to her. "You and Miguel are closer these days. It’s not like you two aren’t close but I feel you two have made a special bond." Charity pulled Jessica to the side. "Jessica, promise me you will not tell anyone of what I’m about to tell you. Ok?" Charity stared at her soberly. "You got it." Jessica looked at her solemnly. "Miguel and I made love." Charity whispered. "Oh Charity! This is wonderful! I’m happy for you two. So this means you and Miguel are lovers for life." Jessica embraced her. "Mmm-hmm. Thanks." Charity went upstairs to get her books. Jessica had a devilish smirk on her face. ‘Kay lost this battle. Charity had him first, not her. I hope they will stay together forever.’ she thought. Charity came downstairs again. "You ready?" She smiled. "Yep more than ever. Charity, you and Miguel are meant to be." They both laughed walking out of the house. Later that day. Kay arrived at the house before anyone else. "How could I’ve been so stupid?" She went to her room and shut the door. "What are you doing here?!" Eric covered her mouth before she could scream. "Shhh. Kay, I need to talk to you." He whispered in her ear sexually. "Eric, what about?!" Kay slightly yelled. "About Charity." He beamed. "What about them? You are a tad too late, Eric! Miguel and Charity are still holding strong!" Eric’s smile disappeared. "What the hell are you talking about?!" Eric glared at her. "They were kissing on each other earlier." Kay sighed. "Oh Kay, for a minute there. I thought you told me they have made love." He took a good laugh. "No, you idiot! Miguel has made love to me!" Eric gasped. "Get out of here!" He was stunned. "I won Miguel’s heart!" She smirked. "Does Charity know?" Eric asked quietly. "Hell no! She doesn’t know that Miguel has lost his virginity to me. We were each other’s first." She replied ecstatically. "I’m glad, this means I can move in on Charity." He clasped his hands together. "Yes, it means you can. I need to work with Miguel a little bit longer." Kay pondered critically. "Good luck. I’ll see you later babes. I love you for this! Kay Bennett, you have made me the happiest man alive!" He kissed her on the cheek. "I’m glad. See ya, Eric. Good luck to you, too." She cheered. "Miguel, we are meant to be together." Kay noted to herself. Kay headed down the stairs to go visit Simone. "So much for dinner." Kay mumbled as she opened the door. "Miguel? If you’re looking for Charity, she’s out with everyone else." Kay was embarrassed. "Kay. I came here to see you." Miguel replied bluntly. "Me? What about me?" Kay thought she is dreaming about tonight. "We need to talk about what we did two nights ago." he sat on the couch. "What about it, Miguel? It was the most wonderful night of my life. We’ve made love! I love you for it! I will always love you, Miguel! Are we going to spend some time together?" Kay’s eyes glistened with hope. "Kay . . . slow down. I meant to tell you that we can’t spend any time with each other." He stared at her soberly. "But Miguel . . . you promised we’re going to be together." She said dryly. "I know what I’ve said and I’m taking it back!" He firmly stated. "Why the sudden change, Miguel?" Kay tried not to let her tears show. "What I’m trying to tell you is Kay. I didn’t make love to you. I’ve used you for sex because I thought Charity was cheating on me." He frowned. "Whoa, wait a minute. Where is this coming from?" Kay placed her hand over her forehead. "Kay, Charity’s been faithful to me and I’ve mucked up! That night we shared never happened!" He glared at her. "But it did happen, Miguel." Kay said quietly. "No, it didn’t." He clenched his teeth. "If you tell Charity that I’ve slept with you. I will never forgive you, Kay Bennett, nor will I acknowledge your existence." He blurted out coldly. "So you’re saying you used me as a toy?" Kay held back her tears. "Kay forget about it! It didn’t mean anything to me! I love Charity and Charity only! We will never be! I regret sleeping with you and if you can’t move on from this Kay, we’re not friends anymore. Because we’ve broken our friendship." He glared at her evilly and left out of their house. After he left, Kay began to cry. "He used me. H-he never loved me! How could I’ve been so naive?! I let him used me. He screwed me because he thought Charity was cheating on him. It turns out she didn’t! I’m just a rebound! I’ll never ever lay my eyes on Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald ever again!" She ran upstairs to go pack everything out of her room. Eric came over immediately once Kay told him what happened. "You got everything, Kay?" Eric asked softly. Kay nodded her head and escaped from the house. "So is it alright if I stay with you, Eric?" Kay asked helplessly. "Sure Kay. What about your folks? Won’t they start worrying about you?" Kay flashed a mean look at him. "They wouldn’t care Eric. As long as you are still my friend. I have nothing to worry about." She turned to the window. Eric sympathizes for Kay. He didn’t know what to say because she is scorned with agony and melancholy. "Kay, you can stay as long as you want. No pressure. Whatever you need, I’ll be here for you." Eric reached for her hand. She felt warmness coming from him. "Thanks Eric. You don’t know how much this means to me." Kay tried not to let her voice shake. They arrived at his mansion. "Wow!" Kay is in total awe of his house. "Eric, you’d never told me your folks are rich." Kay’s eyes widened even more when she entered his mansion. "You can stay next door to me." He smiled. "Will your parents mind?" Kay asked out of concern. "No, my parents are dead. Kay it’s time you know the truth about me." Eric said after landing her luggage in the foyer. The maids picked them up before you can say `Jack Robinson’. "Eric . . . I’m sorry to hear about your parents. So you’re a minor right?" Kay looked at him. "Kay, I’ve told you like a week ago that I’m twenty years old." "I’m sorry Eric. I’ve must of forgotten about your age." Kay sighed apologetically. "No need to apologize, Kay. You just forgot. It’s understandable. Now you can do whatever you please." He smiled. "You are loaded! Eric? I don’t want to pry but are you a millionaire?" Kay tried to smile. "Why you’d think that?" He snickered. "I don’t know. I got the feeling that you are not telling me everything about yourself." Eric smile disappeared. "I’ve told you everything, Kay. You know enough info about me." Eric snapped at her. "I’m sorry, Eric. I bet you wouldn’t yell at Charity." Kay retorted. "Forgive me, Kay. I shouldn’t be so harsh on you after what you’ve learned tonight." Eric touched her gently. "I’m fine, Eric." "No, you’re not. Kay you keep on telling me how much this boy meant to you and now all of a sudden he’s not the one? I don’t understand why you waste your time on this guy anyway?" He sighed out of annoyance. "Eric, focus on winning Charity. My quest to get Miguel is over with!" Kay bounced up the stairs. Eric ran after her. "Certainly, you don’t mean that. Kay, you got to give him time. Give Charity and me time. I guarantee you, you will get Miguel. Even if it means I have to pull out all stops. I’m going to make Charity mine if it kills me." Eric demanded. "Eric, you really want Charity, don’t you?" She examined him meticulously. "Yes. I think I’m in love with her, Kay. I want her near me." He can’t help to smile every time he thinks about her. "Good luck." Kay countered. "It will be a good luck to me." Eric pleased him self while concentrating on him and Charity. "Kay . . ." Eric followed after her. "Yeah?" She tried not to look irritated. "Do you really want Miguel?" Kay gave him the ‘not this again’ look. "Yes Kay, you have to get back in the game! I can’t lose to Miguel! I want Charity! I know I have a real shot with her. Promise me, you’ll stick to your word!" He admonished her. "I will, Eric. But I don’t think I will have a chance with Miguel, not after the stunt he pulled on me. He really hurt my feelings. He treated me like garbage. He disposed me into his waste basket. Slam dunk! Isn’t that what you guys say? Once you bone a girl you hit and run?" Kay asked cruelly. "Kay, stop bitching! I think you have been taking too much Midol!" He frowned in concentration. "Well EXCUSE me for being so emotional. Can’t a girl help but to cry?! Hell no! I’m a woman’s scorn. Eric, I’ve invested too much time into getting Miguel, already! Why shouldn’t I give up now?" Kay folded her arms. " ’Cause honey, you need to have hope. Isn’t that what’s it about? Wanting your special someone to take you and cherish you for eternity?" Eric embraced her. "Somewhat . . ." Kay replied flatly. "Give it a shot, you’ll never know what will happen." Kay smiled and gave him a hug back. "Eric, you always know what to say, don’t you?" She stared at him intensely. "I hate to see a pretty girl cry." He rubbed his finger on her face tenderly and he leaned over . . . the telephone began to ring. "Hello?" Eric cleared his throat. Kay pulled back and she had the most bizarre feeling ever. "Hi Eric, it’s Charity." She answered. "Charity?" He smiled. "What can I do for you?" Kay heard Eric mentioning her cousin’s name and sighed tremendously. "I want to come over tonight." She replied faintly. "Uh sure . . . right now?" He felt his throat tightening up on him. "Yes . . . see you ’til then?" She asked. "Not a problem." He responded smoothly. "Bye." He said and he hung up. "Lemme guess? Charity?" Kay rolled her eyes. "Correct, you get to win your prize for answering so quickly." He retorted. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have fun." she griped. "Kay baby, don’t worry. Love will come knocking on your door before you know it." He encouraged her. "When goats fly." she mumbled. Eric shook his head and left. "What just happened between me and Eric? Was he trying to kiss me?" She interrogated herself. "Nah! Not possible! Or could it? Nah! Kay, you need to rest. Tomorrow is the day where you have to face of not seeing Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald." she sighed and turned in. "Eric, I’m glad you’ve came. I was getting lonely." Charity kissed him. "Oh really?" He didn’t seem surprised. "Yes . . . Miguel had to go out of town to visit his aunt. She’s sick. I needed someone to talk to." She brushed her lips on him again. "Did you wanted to talk or to play?" He questioned her in a coquettish tone. She had to think about it. "Both." she deciphered immediately. "Hmm. I think I can arrange your quandary and have it solved." Charity’s eyes glimmered into his. "Like how?" she smiled sweetly. "Like this . . ." He leaned over and kissed and carried her into his bedroom. He shut the door half-way. She pushed her on the bed. She stared at him unstoppably. He managed to reach to her neck and pressed his lips softly on her. Burning with a quenching desire. Taming her instant craving for him. Just like she imagined. Whispering in each other’s ears. Sweet seducing sighs playing with each other coquettishly and grinning in a roguish demeanor. "Oh . . . Eric." she moaned. "Don’t stop . . . this feels so good to me." she shed a tear. He smiled dangerously and injected himself slowly into her precious body. "Charity . . . this is what you want?" He looked at her intensely. She thought to herself and said it aloud. "You have the most amazing eyes. They’re so . . . so intoxicating." she touched him faintly. "I know this is what you wanted." He pushed against her body again. Making her scream out loud. She couldn’t get enough. The adrenaline rush flowing through their veins. Their bodies connected and staying together as one. It’s like he know what she needed. Just like the doctor prescribed for her. He’s giving her the right medicine in so many ways. So alluring. Who would ever thought that sex would be this good!? Especially. not Charity. It’s not with the man she loves. Or is it? She can’t have both. But she wanted Eric so bad tonight she could taste him. "No one has to know about us Eric. This is between you and me." She demanded. "Don’t worry baby. No one will ever know." They continued to expand each other’s horizons by stunning each other acutely. Kay was walking by and she saw Eric on top of Charity! "Oh my gosh!" she whispered. "Charity’s not so innocent after all." Kay laughed demonically. "Miguel won’t be too pleased if he finds Charity sleeping with another man." Kay’s evilness returns. "Miguel, I will make you mine." she said to herself, greedily.
Chapter 11
It’s been six months since Kay stayed away from everyone. Grace still worries about Kay. Sam had every police out on the search for Kay and still no word. "Sam . . . Why would Kay run away? Is it because we haven’t payed any attention to her? Once Kay gets back . . . I will embrace her with loving arms. I miss my daughter." Grace cried. "I miss her, too. Grace, we’re going to find our baby girl. She’ll turn up." Sam held Grace closer to him. "What if she doesn’t come back?!" Grace looked at him. "Don’t think like this, Grace. Kay just has to be safe." Grace couldn’t stop thinking of what’s happening to Kay. "Sam . . . what if she’s dead?" She cried again. "Grace, she’s not dead." Sam assured her. "Sam, you don’t know that! It’s been over two weeks and she hasn’t come back!" Grace shouted. "Come on honey, you want me to take you to the church?" Grace nodded and they both went to see Father Lonagin. Charity and Miguel were in the living room. "Miguel, this is strange. Kay hasn’t shown up. I wonder why?" Charity questioned him. Miguel thought back to what happened six months earlier. "Beats me. I hope she’s alright." He shrugged. "Me too. Miguel. I hate I have to leave but I have to meet up with Reese. See ya later, baby." She kissed him goodbye. "Bye, sweetie." Miguel kissed her back. He went up to Kay’s room. "Where are you, Kay? Why haven’t you came back? Was it because of me? I miss you terribly. I wish you come back to me. I miss talking to you. Laughing with you." He stared at her picture and touched it sensually. "Once I see you again. I’m going to show you how much I miss you." He sighed and Simone knocked on the door. "Ka-Miguel? What are you doing here?" Simone is alarmed to see him in Kay’s bedroom. "Hey Simone." He whispered. "Have you seen Kay?" She asked politely. He shook his head. "Where could she be?" Simone grimaced. "I’m starting to worry about her, Miguel? What happens if she doesn’t come back?!" Simone starts to flutter. "Simone, it’ll be ok. Kay will come back. You’ll see." Miguel hugged her tight. "I miss her." Simone whined. "I miss her, too. It’s not like her to disappear like that." He said quietly. "What could of made her leave?" Simone was still crying. Miguel shrugged at first then he had to recall back on what he did to Kay. "Hey, you stay here. See ya later, Simone." Miguel hugged her goodbye and begins to search for Kay. Kay was in the bedroom thinking to herself. Eric walked in. "Hey beautiful." He kissed her on the cheek. "Hey Eric." She mumbled. "What’s with the ‘smile’?" He examined her and he could tell she’s not too thrilled. "What’s up, Kay? What’s got you so bummed?" He pulled a chair and sat in front of her. "It’s nothing, Eric. I’ve noticed that the police is looking for me. Do you believe it’s possible that my folks are worried about me?" She crinkled her nose. "I believe so, Kay. I think you should go home to them. You have a family who loves you." He sighed sorrowfully. "But Eric . . . I’m staying with you because you don’t have anyone." Kay felt bad for him. "Kay, sweetie. I can take care of myself. You of all people should know that." "Yeah, I know. But Eric can’t I just stay here for a bit longer?" She puled. "Kay . . . I think it’s time you should face the music. To let you in on the safe side. You’re always welcome here." He beamed. "Oh Eric! Thank you!" she embraced him tenderly. "Do you want me to help you pack?" he insisted. "Yes, please?" Kay smiled at him. Eric pulled out her suitcase and they placed her clothes inside. "It looks like that is it." He dared to grin at her but he felt some sort of dejection kicking in. "Kay . . . I will miss you. Please feel free to come back if you’re having any trouble. Alright?" Eric gave her a glassy stare. "Sure thing, Eric." He invited her into his arms and didn’t let go of her until he wants to. "I’ll miss you, Eric." She cried. "I’ll miss ya, too. Baby girl, have no fear. I will always come to see you." He pulled back . "Let’s get to going." Kay tried to be optimistic. "Shall we?" She continued. "Yes, we should head out." Eric helped her with her luggage. They arrived at the Bennett’s house. "Take it easy, Kay." Eric kissed her goodbye on the cheek. "Bye Eric." Kay sighed desperately. She got inside the house and no one was home. She went upstairs, it turns out that she had seen a light in her room. "Who’s there?" She closed the door behind her and someone grabbed her from behind. "Kay . . . I’m glad you’re back. Is it alright if we talk?" He smiled. "Miguel?!" Kay felt utterly speechless. "What are you doing here?" she asked brusquely. "I’ve been yearning to talk to you. Kay . . ." Kay ceased his sentence. "Miguel . . . just leave. I know what you meant and you will never see me as a lady. You’ve wanted me for sex. So get the HELL OUT!!" She’s outraged by his inattentive demeanor. "Kay . . . you don’t mean it. Please, hear me out?" Miguel pleaded veraciously. "Miguel . . . What is it you could possibly say that could alter my way of thinking?!" She blared at him. She went in her closet. "I was wrong to hurt you Kay and I . . . I apologize for what I’ve done to you. Can you ever forgive me?" He came up to her and touched her gently. "Don’t touch me!" She moved away. "Kay . . . what can I do to make this right?" He kept on pursuing. "Miguel . . . you took my virginity from me! I gave my all to you! Go be with Charity! You’ll never love me! All you’ll ever see me as a ‘one of the guys’ so go on Miguel! Let me be! Get the hell out of my life. I don’t ever want to speak or look at you ever again!" she slapped him. "Kay . . . I’m not leaving until we settle this! I want you in my life! I can’t imagine you not being with me!" He blurted out. "What?" She murmured. "I said, I can’t imagine you not being with me." He repeated, softly. "What are you trying to say?" She whispered. "Kay . . . give us a try. That’s all I’m asking. When you were gone for so long. I’ve missed you terribly and didn’t realize it until now. I’m sorry I’ve hurt you. I’m sorry I’ve took away the most precious gift you could ever give to a man. I want you to be with me. What do you say?" he came close to her and kissed her tenderly. "Miguel . . . don’t say it if you don’t mean it. I know what you’re doing. You’re leading me on. I’m not trying to hear this. I must be hallucinating. That’s it. I’m waking up from a bad dream. This will all go away. Miguel, you’re in my dream." Kay tried to convince herself out of this predicament. "Kay, it’s not a dream. I do have feelings for you. I still do. I want us to try this." He caressed his hand on her face. "Say you want me like I want you." Miguel whispered, sensually. "Say you want to touch me like I want to feel you. Say you want me to make you quiver when we’re making love at night. Say you want me to make you feel like a woman should. I’ll make everything right. I want this, Kay. Just say the word." He forced himself to kiss her as he pushed her onto her bed. "Miguel . . ." She moaned. "Please, don’t do this to me." She felt weak. "Don’t you dare hold back from me." he started taking off their clothes. "Miguel . . ." Kay didn’t want to do this and she surrendered herself to him. Miguel beamed and kissed her again, his lips explored to her body parts. He went to her neck to her breasts. To her stomach to her sex. He went below making her tremble. She has never felt anything like it. She started crying and screaming with pleasure. "Don’t stop." She was clinging on to him. She kissed him as well. She jumped on top of him. She explored on him as well pressing her lips on his intimate areas, too. He began to quiver. Her sensual touch is making him melt inside. He held onto her. Easily she didn’t stop herself from seducing Miguel. It was too simple. She’d always yearned for this. Now that her dream has came true. She felt there is no need to try harder. He came to her. He wanted to be with her. But for how long? Is this some kick off? Is he just using her like before? Only time will tell. "Miguel, why?" She asked, faintly. "Why what?" he looked at her blankly. "Are you sure this is what you want to do with me?" Kay stopped herself from getting sexual with him. "Kay . . . I mean it. I want you to be with me. I’m sorry I’ve made you felt like you were no good. I didn’t know what I was thinking back then. I know now." He fondly placed his hands on her body. "Miguel?" Kay asked, nervously. "Yeah Kay?" he stared at her intensely. "Never mind." Kay is too scared to tell him she loves him with all of her heart and soul. She decided to keep this to herself. So she decided to go to sleep. Miguel looked at her carefully. He ran his fingers through her hair. "I love you, Kay." he whispered and kissed her while resting away. Eric was about to call it a night until he saw Charity standing at his door. "Charity?" he’s trying to catch his breath after running down the stairs. "What’s up?" he smiled. "I came here to see you." Charity jumped all over him and started kissing him with a burning passion. "Charity, what’s gotten into you tonight, my pet?" He jeered. "I want to be with you, Eric. Make love to me . . . now!" she highly demanded. "Alright . . ." Without hesitation he carried her upstairs and they started to unravel each other clothes. Sweet tenderness of fondling. "Eric . . . you are so wonderful. Don’t stop." He penetrated himself through her. He kissed her everywhere. He can tell she likes it. "Eric . . . what is it about you that makes me come back for more?" She touched him sensually. "Maybe it’s because I’m irresistible." He complimented himself too easily. "Yeah, that’s one reason." Charity giggled. ‘It’s something else about you . . . I find to be a mystery." Eric stared at her with desire. "What about me that seems so mysterious?" He smiled. "Your eyes. You have the most amazing eyes, I’ve done ever seen. Every time when I look into your eyes . . . I find myself to be lost. You are so captivating." She replied weakly. "I don’t mean to steal you away from Miguel." He said earnestly. "You didn’t. Eric. I wanted you ever since I’ve laid my eyes on you." Charity kissed him again. "Really?" he seemed a little stunned by her statement. "I didn’t know." He looked at her. "Now you know." She tempted to brush her lips against his. He had to kiss her back. He couldn’t refuse the offer of him being so near to her. "I want this to go on forever." He smiled. "Eric . . . whenever you want me . . . tell me. I’ll give you what you need." She pressed her body towards his. He didn’t stop it from there. He continued to kiss on her breasts and tickle her with his lips on her sweet spots. "Charity . . . I know you’re going to leave in the morning. I wanted to tell you. I’ve enjoyed tonight." Charity was bewildered by his response. She had to react. "I’m staying here and when you get up in the morning. I’m planning to be here, for as long as you want." She said, gravely. "What?" He whispered. "Mmm hmm. I’m going to be here with you. Say you want this relationship, Eric." Charity meant every word of what she’d said. "But . . . alright." He finally gave in. "I want to be with you, too. Baby, I want to make you feel good in every way." He kissed her fervently. "I’m glad you want to be with me. Cause I was afraid you wouldn’t want this to work." Charity smiled. "I want this to work and if it doesn’t . . . I’m glad I had my chance with you when I did." He smiled back. She kissed him again. She couldn’t resist. So they went back to turning each other on and slept in each other’s arms.
Chapter 12
Kay woke up and looked at Miguel. "Oh my God." She mumbled. "Am I dreaming?" She pinched herself. "No, I can’t be dreaming." Miguel peeked at Kay. "Morning." He leaned over to kiss her on the cheek. "Hi Miguel." Kay got up quickly to go to the bathroom. "Oh my goodness what have I done? I got to stay away from Miguel. "What am I doing? Kay, why mess this up? You’ve finally get to be with Miguel and why avoid him? He’s all mine. I’m going to enjoy this. If I can keep him wanting more, then I will win his heart for sure. There is no way Charity can take him back." Kay smiled, underhandedly. Kay finally opened the door. "Miguel, so I take it you’re leaving?" She looked at him with discontentment. "Yeah. I must see Charity." Kay is certainly displeased with Miguel’s informal actions. "Why? I thought we were going to spend some time together?" Kay kept her cool. "Yeah, we will later. I need to see how she is holding up. I have to go home and change. Bye Kay." He stormed out of there. "Bye to you, too." She murmured. "Why is it when I always get a chance to be with Miguel? Charity is the first person to enter his mind?! It’s not fair!" She cried and went back to the bathroom to take a shower. Charity arrived to her room. "Today, I get to see Miguel. I wonder how he is doing? I feel bad for cheating on Miguel. Maybe I should tell Eric it’s over tomorrow. I can’t let Eric ruin my relationship with Miguel. I love him too much." she took a shower and changed. "I hope this will look presentable for Miguel. I want to be with him only. This affair will not go on anymore. How could I let Eric get to me like that? I know one thing, Miguel is going to be here any second." Charity went downstairs to open the door. "Miguel! I’m so glad to see you." She embraced him affectionately. "Hey Charity, are you ready?" He smiled. "Yep, I sure am. Let’s go." They headed out. "You look so beautiful, Charity. And you smell so nice. I missed you so much." He kissed her passionately. "Miguel, I’m delighted to get to spend the whole weekend with you." She kissed him back. "Me too. This will give us a chance to show how much we love each other." He beamed at her. "Most importantly, I can see that you’re being festive of us being alone. You mean a lot to me Charity, more than you’ll ever know." Charity felt a tear coming. "Aw. Miguel, you’re going to make me cry." She touch his lips with a graze. "Mmm. Can I have some more sugar?" He palpated Charity fiercely. "You sure can." She gave him another buss. "So Miguel, where are we off to?" She inquired. "It’s a secret, baby girl. You’ll just have to wait and see." Charity pouted. "Aw, I can’t have a hint?" She whined. "No. Then what fun would it be, if I spill it to ya?" He quizzed her. "I get your point. "Miguel, whatever it is I’m sure it will be a blast. I trust you with my life." She ran her fingers through his hair. "I love you, Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald." She felt the need to kiss him again. "I love you too, Charity Standish." He kissed her back intimately. Later on, Kay felt she need to talk to Eric. So he stopped by to pick her and they are going back to his mansion. "So what’s up?" Eric smiled at her. "A disaster!" Kay cried and Eric held her close to him. "What happened?" He was confused. "Miguel will always look at me as a stone wall. He’ll never see how much I truly love him! I can’t believe I was so naive to let him inside me again." Kay wiped her tears. "Kay, maybe it’s best if you let him go. I think it’s about high time I let Charity go. I can’t see this working. It’s obvious she is still hung up on Miguel." he shrugged. "I feel I can find me a new girl." He suggested. "WHAT?! Are you our of your mind?! Eric, don’t even think about bailing out on me!" She demanded furiously. Eric looked at her bizarrely. "Wait, hold up! Don’t you ever tell me what I CAN and CANNOT do! Is that clear?!" He railed at her. "I’m sorry, Eric. I just can’t lose Miguel." Her vulnerability started sinking in again. "Well thank you Kay, for trying to coax the truth for me!" Eric retorted, angrily. "Eric, I didn’t mean to sound so bitchy. It’s just." He intruded on her sentence. "Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know! I know! It’s just that when it comes to Miguel. He is the only one who matters to you. Right? Right." He sighed, irritably. "Eric, why the sudden change? I’m not going to lose Miguel not by a long shot." Kay accentuated. "Long shot my ass! Kay give it up! I think it would be best for you and me to move on." Kay seemed to be disgruntled by Eric’s last remark. "Move on?! Hell no!" She slapped her hand to the side of her hip. "Kay, what happens if Miguel doesn’t want you in his life like he does with Charity? What then? Are you going to kill her off?" He retaliated. "Kill her? no that’s too simple. Why make the oblivion, obvious?" she crossed her arms. "Why can’t you see that there is hope for you if you leave well enough alone?!" He exasperated out of exhaustion. "Do you have any better ideas?!" She snapped back. "If you give me a second may I can-wait a freaking minute. I think I got an answer to your problem." He snapped his fingers. "I hope this will pull off." She mumbled. "Trust me this will. Here’s what I want you to do . . ." The next evening has arrived, the plan Kay and Eric pulled together will finally tell all. Kay jazzed herself up this time. In an elegant gown, midnight blue with spaghetti straps. She has these cute shoes with slim straps around her feet. Showing off her pedicure. Her hair is styled in a dramatic up-sweep with a butterfly ornament on the side. The perfume she wears is alluring to the senses, so extravagant it’s wild enough to drive Miguel up the roof. Her makeup is flawless. Makes her seem peachy, her shade of lipstick is neutral. Her eye shadow has a nice shades of autumn colors of brown, perfect, not too much nor too little, just right to fit the occasion. She came downstairs and grabbed her shawl. "Miguel, I love you so much. I hope you can tell me this back." Miguel appeared at the door. "Hey Kay, wow! You look stunning!" He kissed her on the cheek. "Where’s Charity?" As soon as she heard him say her cousin’s name. Her world crashed before her. "Charity?" she tried not to sound so dry. "She’s out for the evening. That’s who you came to see right? Right. I figured." Kay rushed out of the house bursting with tears. She went to the park. "How many more times you can set yourself up for another heartbreak, Kay? You’re such a stupid girl! He’ll never love you like he loves Charity!" she cried with agony. Miguel came after her. "Kay, why did you take off like that?" He caught his breath. "Miguel! No! I don’t wanna hear it! You’ve said enough to me! Get the hell away from me!" She took off again and ran even faster. Miguel couldn’t stand it so he went after her and by the time he managed to stop her. She fell to the ground and hurt herself. She tried to get up but stayed on the ground pouring her tears out. "I hate myself for this." She muttered. "I’m so gullible." She cried again. "Kay, are you alright?" Miguel picked her up. "Let me go! Go back to Charity!" She blared at him. "Kay, where is this coming from? We need to talk." He gently landed her on the bench. "Kay, you’re bleeding. Here, let me take a look." He touched her softly. Kay moved away from him. "I’ll be fine, leave me alone!" Miguel persisted to stay by her side. "I’m not leaving, Kay. You’ve hurt yourself, badly. Let me examine you." He could see the scraps. "We need to take you to Dr. Russell." He frowned. "I got a first aid kit at home." She got up and collapsed. Miguel caught her and lifted her in his arms again. "I’m taking you to my place." Kay was inverted completely to speak to him. They want to his bedroom. "Kay, stay right here. I’m going to get some bandages. Ok?" He responded lightly. "Alright." She replied back. Miguel came back with the bandages. "Kay, do you think you’re going to be ok?" Miguel sympathized with her. "Miguel . . . I’ll be fine. The sooner the better." Kay replied impatiently. "Kay, what’s with the embittered attitude?" He retaliated. "Why am I the one who always have to be so diabolical to everyone?" She lashed back. "Kay, what is bothering you? Tell me what’s wrong. Is it me?" Miguel couldn’t figure out why is she acting shady. "Miguel, leave me alone! I don’t want to parade in on you and Charity. Charity is the one you want to be with, right?" Miguel was a little thrown off guard. "Kay, I don’t know." He whispered. "She is the one you want to be with and you know it!" Miguel hushed her mouth with his finger. "Hear me out before you throw the towel in." He kissed her and she pulled back from him. "What’s the matter, Kay?" He looked confused. "This!" She slapped him and she finds herself to graze him again. "Miguel, this is SO wrong! You know you want to be with Charity!" She stopped kissing him. "Kay, I’m not so sure anymore." He looked at her with obscurity. "Miguel, I really don’t think . . ." He interrupted her and pulled her into another kiss. "Miguel, you didn’t answer my question?" He stared at her for a very long time. "Kay, I want to be with you." Kay gasped tremendously. "Did I just hear you right?!" Kay asked him immediately. "Yes Kay. I want to be with you. Say you want to be with me?" He held her hands. "But what about Charity?" Kay didn’t know what to say. "I’ll figure out something but I will tell her I’m in love with you." He kissed her again. "Oh Miguel!" She hugged him tightly. "You’ve made me so happy! I’m in love with you, too." She smiled and kissed him once more. "So you want to be with me? Kay I’m so sorry that I didn’t tell you earlier. I was trying to sort my feelings out. I love you." He let his hand caress her face with his ardent touch. "Miguel, you don’t know how much this means to me! I want to be with you! Please tell me I’m not dreaming?" Kay pleaded. "You’re not dreaming." He beamed and picked her up. "Kay, I want this to work. Say you want us to be together?" He kissed her again. "I want this more than anything!" She exclaimed. Miguel laid her down easily and started kissing on her. She let his sensual touch soar through her outer limits. He managed to slip her dress off without any complications. She took off his clothes as well. It’s like second nature to her, dreaming to be in his arms. They started making love again. Kay’s tears begin to flow as his body searched through hers and she moaned with pleasure. She gave her all to him once. Could this be it? Will she finally get the man of her dreams permanently? Will Eric’s and Kay’s plan finally get them want they want? How will Charity take the news? Will Eric be her leaning shoulder?
Chapter 13
Charity was sitting in her room studying and she was wondering if Miguel is coming to see her. "Miguel, where are you?" She asked herself and she decided to go see what Miguel is up to. She knocked on the door. "Luis? Is Miguel home?" Charity smiled. "I wouldn’t know, but it wouldn’t hurt to check. I’m in a rush. I’m on my way to see Sheridan." He smiled. "Ok. Tell Sheridan that I said hello." Charity gave Luis a kiss on the cheek. "I will." he gave her a peck on the cheek back and left. Charity decided to go into Miguel’s room and she opened the door she couldn’t believe of what she’d seen. She was so crushed. She saw Miguel and Kay making love to each other and she felt her soul being ripped out. She stood there in disbelief. "When were you planning to tell me, Miguel?!" She yelled. "Charity?! I-I can explain! It’s something I’ve been waiting to tell you." He got up and went to her. "Charity, it’s over between us. I’m in love with Kay." When his words finally absorbed through her, she got into a fit and slapped him. "Why Miguel?! Why?!" She cried. "I’m really sorry, Charity . . ." He sighed as she left and he close the door. Charity was devastated and she ran outside. She didn’t stop until she find herself at the park. Weeping her eyes out. "Are you ok?" She recognized the voice. "Eric? Thank God you’re here!" She pulled him into a hug. "What’s wrong?" He held onto her. "It’s over between Miguel and me. I’ll never have again in my life." She sobbed heavily. "Is there anything can do?" He didn’t let her go. "Please take me back to your place?" She pleaded. "Alright . . ." He didn’t pause. He did what she’d asked him to do. He finally made it to his house and took Charity in. "Thanks Eric, you are so special to me." He smiled and offered her some tea. "This ought to help you." She took it from his warm hands. "Thanks. Eric is it alright if I . . ." She stopped. "What? For you to stay here?" He tried to read her mind. "Yeah . . . But I was wondering if we could get together?" She proposed. "Charity, I don’t want to be a rebound. If you want to heal, give yourself time." He insisted. "Eric, don’t feeling you’re enlisting yourself to be in my club." She joked. "Thanks for respecting my wishes and wanting me to allow myself to heal. I can’t face Miguel . . . not now, not ever." She sighed and went upstairs to the room where Eric showed her. Eric kissed her good night on the cheek. After he shut the door. He sighed. "I hope this plan doesn’t backfire." He mumbled while stepping into his room. "I really want her. But not this way. That’s why giving her time will make her love me." He turned in and fell asleep. Eight months has passed. Charity and Eric are very happy with each other. Kay and Miguel are still standing strong. The four finally reunited to a party at the Youth Center that Luis and Sheridan are throwing because their baby is on the way. Every was happy to hear about Sheridan and Luis are finally happy and are going to have a family. Kay went up to Sheridan. "Sheridan, congratulations. How does it feel to carry a baby?" Sheridan smiled while rubbing her stomach. "It’s wonderful. The joy of having children with the man you love is more than exhilarating." Kay smiled slightly. "Are you having a boy or a girl?" Sheridan looked at her. "It doesn’t matter to me. As long as my baby is healthy. Is all I’m praying for." She hugged Kay and went back to Luis. "Hey you." She kissed Luis passionately. "How’s my beautiful wife?" He embraced her tenderly. "Wonderful . . . I love you." She kissed him once more. "I love you too, Mrs. Lopez-Fitzgerald." As he kissed her back. They went to mingle with every one else. "Kay? What are you thinking about?" Miguel wrapped his arms around her waist. "I want to be like Luis and Sheridan . . . happily married with kids." She was so grim. "Don’t worry Kay, it’ll happen . . ." He kissed her neck. "Are you saying you could see us getting married?" Kay turned to him. "It’s possible . . . I’m willing to love you, Kay . . . just the way you want me to." He smiled and kissed her again. "Miguel! You have made me the most happiest girl alive." Charity saw them from a distance. She had a strange feeling that Kay is somewhat responsible for her and Miguel breaking up. "What’s wrong, Charity?" Eric rocked her slowly in his arms. "Nothing . . . I think we should go speak to Kay and Miguel." Charity responded in a trance. "Ok, I don’t see why not?" He shrugged. They walked through the mist of the people to get to Kay and Miguel. "Hi Kay . . . Miguel." Charity smiled at them. "Hey Charity." Miguel kissed her on the cheek. She returned it back. "Hey Eric." Miguel replied bitterly. "Miguel . . . Kay." He flashed a friendly smile. "Eric . . . How are you?" Kay smiled at him. "I’m cool . . . You?" He beamed. "So what are you guys doing for the weekend?" Charity switched topics. "We’re not sure, what do you want to do Charity?" Kay asked nervously. "I was thinking that you guys should come over to Eric’s house so we can call celebrate for being on love." She tilted her head. "Alright . . . it’s sounds good to me." Miguel curved his lips. "Great! How about we all meet tomorrow at nine? Is that good?" Charity pulled Eric closer. "Nine it is." Kay kissed Miguel after replying. "Good. We all have something to celebrate about . . ." Charity mumbled. Eric felt his stomach churning. ‘What is Charity up to?’ He thought. ‘If she’s on to us. God help us all . . .’ The next evening, they all managed to get to Eric’s mansion. "Okay . . . why are we all here?" Kay dropped her purse. Eric invited the all in. "I wanted us to all get to know each other better." Charity urged. "Ok, like how?" Miguel wondered. "Well, you guys get to hang out while me and Kay have a girls night out. You two go have fun while we get to do our thing." Charity sneered. Miguel and Eric left immediately. "So . . . Eric, how’s Charity?" Miguel asked out of concern. "She’s doing pretty good. She’s wonderful." Eric started the car up. "Have she?" Eric barged in on Miguel’s sentence. "She asked about you? No." He replied bluntly. "I was just asking. Charity is coping with everything . . ." Miguel find this so hard to believe talking about his ex-girlfriend to the guy who’s now dating her. "Yes, she is. Miguel . . . if there is something you want to ask, please do so?" He sighed. "I’ll give this to you straight. If you ever hurt Charity, in ANY way. I will come after you." He said cruelly. "And that’s supposed to scare me, Miguel? Ooh . . . bring back the forties?" He retaliated. "I’m SERIOUS, Eric. If you do ANYTHING to hurt her! It’ll be your blood on my hands!" He hissed. "You won’t have to worry about that . . . cause I got it under control. If you rather talk about something that seems to be diabolical to you, feel free to bring it up anytime." He narrowed his eyes while driving. "Eric, quit being such a jackass! I’ve meant with what I’ve said. Your blood will be on my hands if you screw around with Charity’s heart. I don’t want anything to happen to her." He whispered. "Sounds like to me you’re still in love with Charity. Instead of worrying about what the HELL I’m doing with my girlfriend, why don’t you fret over yours?" He snarled. "I love Kay! I don’t know what the hell you are insinuating but my concern for her is none of your DAMN business!?" Miguel fired back. "Be my guest Lopez-Fitzgerald. I must clarify this to you and I’m ONLY saying this once. Charity doesn’t want anything to do with you." He corrected Miguel. "How do you know?" He sarcastically replied. "‘How do you know?’" he mocked. "What do you mean how do I know? She told me, that’s how I know!" He bitterly replied. "Oh . . ." He muttered. "Yeah! Oh! You know Miguel, Charity is not as feeble as you painted her out to be. She’s very strong and I assure you she doesn’t want anything to do with you." Eric concluded. "You think you have all the answers, don’t you, Eric!?" Miguel crossed his arms. "Miguel, I’m not here to argue. Let’s put a truce to this once and for all. I wanna be friends you not enemies for the girls’ sake." Eric sighed and outstretched his hand to Miguel’s. "You’re right." Miguel reconsidered. "So what do you want to do on a guys night out?" Miguel finished dryly. "What do you mean what I wanna do? What I wanna do is PARTY!!!!!" Eric smirked and chuckled chaotically which gave Miguel quite a scare. Meanwhile . . . back at Eric’s house. "Kay . . . I’m so glad that we can spend some time together." She brought in some tea for Kay. "Thanks. So how’s you and Eric?" Kay glistened at her. "We’re good, but how are you and Miguel?" Charity sat next to Kay. "What do you mean?" Kay looked at her blankly. "You know what I mean, do you and Miguel have plans for the near future?" Charity moved closer. "I guess. Charity are you ok? You seem upset." Kay frowned. "Upset? No. Kay, I think your brain is working overtime." Charity sarcastically replied. "Miguel loves me and we’re very happy." Kay finished her tea. "Kay, do you know anything about me and Miguel’s break up?" Charity crossed her arms. "No." She denied instantly. "Oh ok. Well why don’t we go have some fun?" Charity put on her coat and was ready to leave. "Sure why not?" Kay shrugged and they both left.
Chapter 14
Two years later, the day finally arrived. It was Kay and Miguel’s wedding day. Kay was so nervous as a wreck. Her mother was there trying to calm her nerves down and Jessica finally admitted that she was happy for her sister. The only one who doesn’t seem to ecstatic of this situation is Charity. Luis assured Miguel it’s going to be okay once he walks down that aisle. "Luis, how does it feel going to be a father again?" He said while adjusting his tie. "It’s good. Sheridan’s really into motherhood and she’s glowing extremely. She’s so beautiful." "It must be nice marrying to a woman you love so much." Miguel replied out of regret. It is almost as if he doesn’t want to get married. "Are you getting cold feet?" Luis examined Miguel carefully. "Cold feet? No. Why would I get cold feet?" He laughed nervously. "I don’t know, it just feels like you’re not ready." Luis shrugged. "I am . . . how could you ask me something like that?" Miguel frowned. "This is my wedding day, Luis." He said firmly. "Yeah . . . but still, even on MY wedding day. I knew I was ready in spite of my pre-wedding jitters." Luis accentuated sternly. "Let’s get this show on the road." Miguel smiled and was ready to leave. "Miguel, if you’re not sure. Don’t go through this. If you know you love Charity . . ." Miguel started snapping at him. "Luis, Charity and I are HISTORY!! I’m getting married to Kay. I love Kay!" He frowned. "I know you do but . . . you didn’t love her as much as Charity." Luis pointed out. "How the hell would you know?!" He snarled. "Don’t test me little brother! All I’m just saying is that you should reconsider your options." Luis put it to him nicely. "Fine. Let’s get this show on the road." Miguel stated while ignoring what Luis just said. Luis sighed heavily and left. He sat beside Sheridan. Everyone was ready to wait for Kay and Miguel to get married. Kay walked down the aisle. Looking so beautiful. Miguel stood there gazing at her. The minister started with the ceremony. Finally, he asked does any one object to them getting married. Charity stood up. "No! Miguel! Please say you love me?!" Eric didn’t refuse to stop her. Miguel looked at Kay and Charity simultaneously. "I’m sorry Kay . . . but my heart belongs with Charity. I thought I was in love with you. But it turns out I’m not. I love you but not the way I love Charity. Forgive me." He kissed her on the cheek and ran off with Charity. Everyone was stunned and couldn’t believe what happened here. Kay was in total embarrassment. She ran out of the church in tears. She didn’t care about staying. Not after what happened to her. She cried her heart out and sat on the bench. "Kay?" A voice appeared before her. "You? What do you want?" She frowned. "Let this go, honey." Eric replied softly. "Let this go?! How can I?!" She exclaimed. "No one will EVER love me! I am just a fool! Love is definitely not on my side." She pouted. "Yes it is." He touched her shoulder. "How?!" She barked. "Because Kay . . . I know someone who is in love with you and they were just very scared to tell you of how they’ve felt." He whispered. "Oh? And who would this person be?!" Kay retorted. Eric didn’t want to debate with her. He pulled her into a kiss. A feverish kiss which isn’t contained. "Eric, what was that for?" She was puzzled. "I love you, Kay Bennett!" He finally said it. "You what? Why? Why didn’t you tell me?" She staggered. "I wasn’t for sure at the time . . . I knew I had feelings for you but I didn’t know my love for you was this strong. Kay, I’ve been wanting you since the day we’d met." He caressed her cheek with his finger. "You were?!" She had to sit down. She had to let this assimilate. "I don’t expect you to say you love me back. I know how you feel about Miguel and I would never want to take his place. But Kay, it’s obvious he doesn’t admire or worship you like he should." Eric stressed. "I know." She mumbled. "Please Kay? Say you’ll give me your heart. Let me be the one to love you forever. I’ve been in love with you since day one." He kissed her once more. Kay stood up to him and kissed him back. "So you mean you love me? Wholeheartedly?" She stared at him with innocence in her eyes. "Yes. I’m in love with you, Kay Bennett." He held her close to him. Kay was in disbelief but she followed Eric back to his mansion. He made sure no one would disrupt their evening. He carried her upstairs and locked the door. He gently carried her to the bed and laid her down. He got on top of her as his lips explored everywhere on her. She felt a tingling sensation running down her spine. "Eric, don’t stop." She moaned out of weakness. He took off her clothes as she slipped his off as well. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. His hands roamed all over her, getting her hot, yet feeling sensual and loved. "I love you, Eric." Kay finally said those three little words. "I love you, too." Eric brushed his lips against hers. "Eric, thank you for giving me a chance." She had tears rolling down her face. "I’m finally accepting that Miguel will never love me." She cried even more. "Yes, but I’m here to love you . . . if you let me." He smiled. "Eric, I want to love you and be with you forever." She pulled him closer as he buried himself deep into her. Working her tenderly. "Kay, I would never hurt you nor would I abandon you." Eric’s eyes met with hers. "You have my word that I will love you now and forever." Kay smiled and she was so thrilled to hear the truth. "You will? I will love you for eternity, too." She pulled him and kissed him fervently. "Eric, thank you . . ." She moaned all night long with Eric inside her. He held her in his arms and didn’t let her go. From then on those two promised each other to love one another forever. Never again, did Kay ever questioned her love for Eric. The two couples finally found happiness and ended up getting married. They lived happily ever after. The End. Or is it?
