Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (7/15/05) 3: A remake of the 70s classic and Dahl's childrens book about a wacky chocolate maker and 5 kids who tour the factory. Very colorful but a let down. Johnny Depp
Fantastic Four (7/8/05) 4: Another comic book super hero movie but now based on four scientists who are genetically altered by a space storm.. Not as good as others, but very comedic and emotional. Jessica Alba Dark Water (7/8/05) 2: Japanese based horror films seem to be getting worse and worse especially here in a film about a mother and daughter who move into a new apt. Jennifer Connelly
Wedding Crashers (7/15/05) 5: Two divorce mediators crash weddings to get girls, however find love along the way in a Senator's two daughters. Definitely the funniest movie of the year. Vince Vaughn Bad News Bears (7/22/05) 3: A remake of a classic baseball film where 9 misfits and an alcoholic coach learn teamwork  and use their anti social tactics as a means to win games. Stealth (7/22/05) 3: One of the biggest flops of the year in a air force film about a robotic jet that goes off track and begins to attack its man piloted counterparts. Top Gun meets the Terminator. Jessica Biel

The 40 Year Old Virgin (8/19/05) 5: It's all in the title where a computer salesman learns about sex and has his crazy friends go all out to help him lose his virginity. Great one liners! Steve Carell
Four Brothers (8/12/05) 4: Four Detroit raised adopted brothers come back to town to avenge their mothers gang murder. All with different lives they work together to outwit a mob boss and dirty cops. Mark Wahlberg Red Eye (8/19/05) 4: Domestic terrorists want to assassinate a gov't official and use a hotel manager as a means to an end. The claustrophobic plane atmosphere provides for great suspense. Rachel McAdams
The Cave (8/26/05) 2: A mysterious creature hunts and takes over human bodies when a group of cave divers attempt to excavate a new found cave in Eastern Europe. Great monster, no story. Cole Hauser
The Brothers Grimm (8/26/05) 2: Delayed comedy adventure about the famous Grimm brothers who must fight fantasy ghosts and spooks. Terrible story and very little comedy.  Matt Damon
