She is the shortest of the three girls and the one with more enrgy, her name means "Light of the Lion Shirine".

Maybe she is the most important character in the whole story because at the end she becomes the new Pillar of Cefiro. Her God machine is Rayearth. Who was found in a Shirine inside a Volcano.

She is the youngest of her family and is the only girl among three boys.

Hikaru has red eyes and red pony-tailed hair, she is smaller than the other girls, but she is brave and reckless. She wears an enormous white bow, a red jacket and a black skirt. She is a kind, honest and joyful and somewhat childish girl. Hikaru has amazing jumping and physical power, she knows kendo fencing also. Hikaru's powers are based on fire and are all offensive ones.

Hikaru is the number one hero of this Anime/Manga. She's the Magic Knight Rayearth. She was given fire magic by Clef and was the first to learn and use magic out of the three. She controls the red Rayearth mashin. At the age of 14, Hikaru seems to be underage on her size, the others thought at first, that she was only 11 years of age. Hikaru is a very cheerful person, she's enthusiastic, energetic and seems tomboyish at times also incredibly naive. Her home is a Kendo dojo where she lives with her parents and 3 brothers and Hikari, her dog. That explains why she was good with a sword and was able to understand animals better than the others. Hikaru is the most enthusiastic on becoming a Magic Knight, she was flaming with passion when told that she's one of the "Legendary Magic Knight". Out of the three, she was the one with the strongest "will", at the end, Hikaru was chosen as the successor of Princess Emeraude, the new "pillar" of Cefiro but she refused and changed the system for the better.
