ASSIGNING SPOOLS

HOME

Before you can create a wire or cable, you must assign a spool to it. You can organize spool parameters into several categories:

- Wire – specific

- Cable –specific

- Sheath specific (Cabling mode).

Many of these parameters are optional but several are required. And only these spools are used for defining the parameters of wire, cable & Bundle for both diagram & cabling.

But when a spool is created there are some important parameters to be added

The parameters are listed below.

* COLOR: establishes the color of the wire insulation Note: the system does not automatically apply color.

* MIN_BEND_RADIUS: Sets the minimum bend radius that the cable can take as it is routed.

* THICKNESS: Specifies the diameter of the wire.

* UNITS: Specifies the length unit of the spool.

* WIRE_GAUGE: Indicates the wire gauge.

PARAMETERS FOR SPOOLS

Note: Spool files can be used in both the diagram & cabling harness. Be sure to add the parameters needed in cabling to the spool files, incase if they are not being defined in pro diagram, as the diagram does not have a many required parameters as in cabling.
