Upon entering a girl should
"kneel at the serving furs."
A slave always kneels in the presence of a Free when offering greetings. (it is NOT necessary to post that a girl is kneeling with each greeting. It will be assumed that she continues kneeling until greetings are concluded.) In Harigga, slaves avoid addressing any Master/Mistress by their name. this should not be a problem for any slave since we can use the pull down menu. Here is an example of what this girl is talking about (simulating the use of the pulldowns):
** a correct greeting **
A girl should study pay close attention to Who is listed on the Members Scroll and also give close attention to Who holds positions on Ubar's Council. Camp slaves offer greetings order of rank.
If present, Ubar, is greeted first,
E/everyone is to be greeted individually. In our Camp it is not sufficient to say "greetings A/all" or anything similar. Simple greetings are fine. "Greetings, Master",
If a girl is uncertain as to the gender of the Free she is addressing, she assumes she is speaking to a Master. When she is corrected, she should offer apologies and re-greet correctly. eilid has never encountered a Free who was not gracious about this. As P/people enter, they are greeted in turn, in appropriate order: Member Masters/Mistresses first, then slaves. Visitors are greeted only after being cleared by a Gatekeeper and weapons have been laid down. A girl may or may not receive greetings in return from the Frees present. It is Their option. If They are engaged in conversation, They may overlook a girls greeting accidentally. This should not stop her from continuing with her greetings. One additional thing about returned greetings, privately owned slaves, if in Camp with their Master, usually do not greet until given permission by their Master. This is not meant as a slight to any other slave. The Owner of a slave comes first and is the focus of His slaves full attention. |
Thanks to eilid for the kettle primer
