Plant Collection
2007
This fall, we will be putting together a plant collection. The collection will be worth 100 points and will be due Friday November 9. In your collection you will write a natural history card for each of the plants you collect. The natural history should include
Common name
Scientific name
Family name
Location collected
Other info
You will collect 20 plants for your collection. Your collection must contain
No more than 12 trees
At least 1 grass
At least 1 schrub
At least 1 flower
At least 1 weed
You will collect you plants, glue them to a sheet of white paper, and place them inside a sheet protector. Place all 20 sheet protectors in a three ring notebook. Your natural history write ups can go inside the sleeve, or can be separate, that is up too you.
Do not procrastinate, it may turn cold, and we may lose a lot of plants. Collect plants and place in a plant press, let plants sit in plant press for 2-3 days, before placing in your collection.
