Is there such a changeless thing???
During the time of
world cup match......
Scene 1: shiavalik
Hostel's common room. The match between Pakistan and India is about to start.
The room is jam packed with enthusiastic audience. Although I would have loved
to watch the match I had to do some urgent work and I was proceeding to the lab.
One of friend stopped me and asked " match nahin dek rah tu . kya indian hai tu??"
are you not patriotic ?" He was asking very seriously , I had to accept that I
was not a great patriot ! and proceed. Is cheering the Indian
team during a cricket match the yard stick to measure patriotism ?
Scene 2: I managed to came back quickly finishing the job. To everybody's joy
india won. Then I heard the loud roar " bharat mata ki .jai '" for many
number of times. Then comes " pakistan ki...... murdabad" Is that necessay ?
Is patriotism a civilized narrow mindedness ? Or how one draw the narrow line
separating patriotism and jingoism ?
Let me go again tangentially, sorry for the incoherence . The source of all
narrow-mindedness arise form our own ego satisfying desires. The mind's
dexterity to divide anything it see as friends and foes, relative and
non-relative, likes and
dislikes is profound. And most of us live in the false notion about life. Do we
have a uniform friend and constant foe ? We are but a mere puppet in hand of
life dancing with it and constantly get tossed by the mighty waves of love and
hatred and feelings and emotions created by it.
All the dualities that we see in this world is its crafty creation and it has
only relative existence. Love and hatred, friend and foe and a host of such
allied words. When we hate nobody what is the meaning of love? When I say "I
love you" indirectly it means that there are may people which I hate or love
less.
Caught in its whirl pool one is sure to get knocked down today or tomorrow. And
then we ask the most celebrated question " why with me God ? ye mera sath hi
kyun ho gaya? "
When mind becomes the breeding place of desires, the intellect gets clogged and
apparently loses its direction. And in the whole process one get victimized. Why
are we trading peace and happiness for transitory pleasures???
Meticulous and ruthless analysis will reveal that our likes and dislikes are
also changing. As we are growing or evolving, our needs are also getting
sophisticated. The golden words " there is nothing constant but change " is
resonating in my mind . But if everything is changing there should be a
changeless thing which holds this change. The ever dynamic river
is supported by river bed.
Is there such a changeless thing ?
