Hello, and welcome to Harecroft Farm, home of my Magpie Models collection. A long-time Julip collector, I started collecting these adorable little models after 'meeting' some at a live show. To view each full-size photo, right-click on it and choose 'open in new window' - if you click on them directly, using the back button on the browser may take you do a different page, not this one! I don't know why it does that and I can't stop it!
This is Harecroft Sunray, my first Magpie pony. I've decided to concentrate on collecting Magpie's welsh pony or 'welshie' mould, as I find them so very sweet!
Here's Harecroft Lhiannon, the bay welsh pony. She's very pretty and has a cheeky look on her face, like she might just like to be causing trouble when no-one's looking!
Harecroft Patch, the piebald pony 'special' from summer 2004. A very sweet looking little pony.
Magpie's new 'special' for winter 2004, Harecroft Princess is a beautiful dapple grey welsh pony with a two-tone grey mane and tail. Winner of the Craft Welsh class at Lindfield Live 2005.
This little pony, Harecroft Ivy, is from before Magpie's relaunch a couple of years ago. She's about eight years old, and came to me from a fellow Julip collector.
Also an older magpie model, this palomino came with the dun pony on the left, I've named her Harecroft Summer Sun.
This is Harecroft Autumn, a lovely little customised welsh pony by my friend Laura, who's famous for making the wonderful felt horses you might have seen.
Magpie's old Personality range pony 'Marshmallow', renamed Harecroft Honeybee.
I gave this palomino pony white socks and a blaze, a pink nose and new pale feet, as I'd already got an original finish one. She's named Harecroft Diamonds.
Harecroft Holly is another chestnut magpie welsh pony, but she is older and a much darker colour than Sunray, at the top of the page.
Here's Chocky, a customised welsh pony model with a sculpted mane and tail and re-posed forleg, in chocolate brown.
This is Harecroft Crusoe, a little bright bay welsh pony who used to live at Havillands. He was customised to a piebald when I got him, but his paintwork had got tatty so I've peeled it off and given him new white patches.
Meet Harecroft Scruffy Murphy, a lovely little magpie donkey. The donkey mould isn't in production anymore, which is a real shame as they're very sweet little chaps. I bought mine as a shell (bare plastic, and no mane or tail), and made him come to life myself, with a milliput mane and tail, and painted details on his face, belly and feet.
My first OF magpie arab is Flint, 2003's 'Special', a very pretty blue roan, with a mixed mane and tail. He's a little bigger than the welshies.
This custom pony by Manda of Havillands is Lucretia, I'm her third owner. She needed some restoration when she came to me, as she'd fallen in half, and got badly rubbed and scratched - she's looking a lot better now!
With one blue eye, this sabino welsh pony with four white legs and roany markings is one one my own customs. I've named him Harecroft Flash.
First customised in 1998, this is Royal Mint, who's had at least five owners and came with a huge show record. A very pretty little dun, I'm hoping to continue his show career.
Another custom by Laura, this lovely pony Cobweb and her foal Frosty have sculpted manes and tails, and are painted in the rare colouring silver dapple.
This handsome stallion is also a magpie welsh pony, but he's had his head tucked in, his neck built up with milliput, repositioned legs and a new solid mane and tail.

This is magpie's special edition fjord pony, who was only available through the newsletter, so is much rarer than the other Personality models. Mine is called Hanne, a Norwegian name pronounced Hannah.
An older model, this little fleabitten grey was made before magpie closed in the 90's. I've named her Harecroft Blossom.
The same age as Blossom, Blackthorn is another original finish welsh pony.
This is Harecroft Moondust, a magpie arab I customised myself. He came to me as a badly damaged Flint, I gave him a new paintjob, and a bright yellow halter to cheer him up.
A very sweet little piebald, this welsh pony custom is named Dinky and came from Ebay. He's very good at gymkhana games and is pictured here warming up before the bending race. I made his tack myself, the rider is a magpie one.
Harecroft Snowflake is another custom of my own. She started out as a Patches I was given, but I already had one, so I took off all the black patches, and gave her a new mane, tail, hooves and a shaded face.
Harecroft Bramble is named after a pony I used to ride. She started out as a black 'shell', two halves of plastic body from the magpie factory. I sanded and glued the mould together, gave her hair and painted in the details.
An older Special Run model, I got this pony second-hand on ebay. He's very pretty, and quite unusual. I've called him Jasper
One of my favourite magpie models, this is the exmoor pony 'personality' from the 1990's. Harecroft Heather was craft champion then reserve to reserve champion at her first live show.
Another magpie who was sent to me as an unpainted, unfinished 'shell', this one is now named Harecroft Patchwork Pete. A very sweet little grey skewbald, Pete is a partbred welsh pony, all plaited up and ready for the showring. Pete's new plaited mane is sculpted from milliput, his tail is also milliput but the plait along the top is made of painted embroidery thread, braided (with a grey streak along it to match his loose tail hair).
Guess how many spots this little chap has! A leopard spotted appaloosa colt, I customised Sunspot from yet another unpainted plastic shell. And the spots? An unbelievable 600+!
One of magpie's much rarer moulds, Hodge the shetland pony is such a sweet, well-rounded little thing! They're tiny compared to the other magpie models, but very very cute.
Yes, this is a welsh pony! He was repositioned with a tucked head, arched neck, and with his legs straightened to a standing position. He was then painted and haired by Laura, and I bought him. I've named him Harecroft Mordecai.
A family portrait! The stallion on the left is Mordecai and the mare is Autumn, both CM's by Laura. She also sent me the foal- he was a rescue case with one leg broken off and some basic resculpting, I mended and finished him, then painted him to match my dun mare and stallion.
Bought as a shell on the sales table of a live show, this pony was a plain grey in two halves, with no hair. I dry-brushed his shading, to let the grey colour show through, then added the white markings, eyes, and a mixed grey mohair mane and tail. He's named Harecroft November Frost.

This pretty little pony is Misty, another older 'personality' model. Her dapples are beautifully done, she's one of my favourite magpies.
Here's the second version of Chief the hunter, his patches are much darker brown, and he has a white mane and tail.
This handsome chap is the original Chief the hunter, with bright chestnut patches, a shaded face, and dark mane and tail. Mine was hogged by his first owner, but it suits him.
Repositioned to a canter, with a thick sculpted mane and tail, this pony looks full of energy and a very fast ride - another one for the gymkhana circuit, perhaps?
A sweet little black foal, who belongs to the dapple grey pony on the right - they had to come together because it would be unfair to split up mum & baby!
Harecroft Marble, one of my own customs - he's got a reshaped profile, and very feathery legs, and I've painted him to a piebald. He's like one of those mini cob-ponies you sometimes see at Appleby.
Another one painted by me, this is Amber Champagne, I bought a set of two shells plus the hair to finish them on ebay, this one got brown hair and matching brown points.
The second shell from the ebay set became this chocolate brown pony, Blackcurrant. I'm really pleased with how he turned out.
This is Friday, the matching skewbald pony to Crusoe, also painted by Manda of havillands.
Laura customised this little foal for my birthday present in 2006, she's a matching Fjord foal for my mare Hanne, I've named her Hulda.
Another present, this one was for christmas. She has that bubbly-effect plastic which makes her look like she has a roan coat.
Berry is an older magpie pony, she's a darker bay than they're making now (see Lhiannon, at the top of this page).
Joker is another Special Run pony, a piebald with unusual and realistic white markings, even including a white section in her mane to match the white patch on her shoulder.
Whizz, Joker's baby - I'm very glad I managed to get both of these.
A beautiful dark blue roan, Blue Moon is another unusual magpie - the special runs and personalities were always more expensive or harder to get hold of, so there's not many about compared to the normal colours.
Only my second OF arab, this pretty chestnut is the same darker shade as my welsh pony, Holly.
Puzzle, a sweet piebald who arrived at the same time as Friday (because ponies prefer to travel with a friend)
The current fleabitten grey welsh pony has bigger speckles, and is a much brighter, shiner white than the older one. Mine is called Hawthorn.
I finally managed to add another donkey to my collection, as an unpainted shell and finished off myself. I found a photo of a donkey online and copied the markings. His mane and the top bit of his tail are made from a pipecleaner!
Magpie's current welsh pony Special is Toffee, this brilliant bright chestnut with four white feet and a blaze. He even has a pink nose.
Another real favaourite of mine is Cinnamon, this bay roan model from the Personality range. Her colour's really well done, and she's quite rare.
A piebald arab who doesn't have a name yet, this one was sold with a piebald julip, on ebay. He's a new specially ordered one, rather than the older 'personality' piebald.
Harry the hunter, a nice sensible looking horse in a nice sensible colour!
