Do We Really Need to Clean Our Septic Tank?

*Solids that accumulate in the tank should be removed regularly.  If excessive sludge builds up, it will enter the finger system and eventually plug it up.
*Recommended cleaning (pumping) schedule: every 1-3 years. Cleaning frequency depends on several factors: number of people in home, size of tank & use of a garbage disposal.
