Spider is a mixture of Kenshin Himura (from Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin), Makenshi from Final Fantasy: Unlimited, and the many ninjas of Naruto. I got the name from Makenshi. His real name is Shiroi Kumo in FF:U, meaning "White Cloud" but Kumo can mean either "Cloud" or "Spider", so naming him Spider is really an ode to Makenshi. I just recently came up with the idea that he should have eight katanas since he's called Spider, and I've thought of a couple cool reasons why for the storyline. One of my favorite characters to draw by far.
