You pushed me high,
through all the traumas in my mind,
just to see what I could see,
I opened my eyes to find emotions from the past
still trapped inside of me,
you called my name,
I heard your cry,
shine through this cold and distant sky,
it's only my dreams that can describe the way I'm feeling
about the way things used to be,
they make me believe that these feelings from the past
will never set me free.
Feeling Fine
Each time I see your face your smile is shining through,
can't help the way I feel and it's all because of you,
you stole me from my world and said that you'd be mine,
that's good enough for me cos I'm on top and now I'm feeling fine.
5 am
It's 5 am I'm all alone,
walking down this twisted road,
and all the street lamps in a row,
they are leading me back home,
I thought I loved this blessed land,
the hallowed ground on which I stand,
but now I know that all I've seen is just a dream thats fooling me.
I watch the kids play in the park,
no sign of pain within their hearts,
innocence is just a game,
I guess they'll find this out some day,
I see the homeless in the streets,
no form of life no food to eat,
a cardboard box, set down their hat,
but they can't help my world is dead.
In the end its all the same,
nothing ventured nothing gained,
but all I want to do is change the world in which we live today,
the purple haze is falling fast,
the crystal blue's not here to last,
walk alone and you will see your life in such a different way.
Higher Ground
Some people say its time to let go,
I guess its easy if theres some way you know,
that takes the past and all these feelings inside,
and keeps them locked up so theres no need to hide,
some people say its time to move on,
I guess I need to but I've got to be strong,
I feel so empty and I need to be found,
it sounds so crazy but I won't stop till I touch higher ground,
I've touched higher ground,
I'll never look down,
til I've touched higher ground.
These broken lights they seem to show me the way,
they gave me hope but I'm unable to stay,
I've searched so far but I still need to be found,
I won't give up I'll keep on walking til I touch higher ground.
