VIDEO GAMES

Video games are specifically designed to entertain to the extent of addiction and unfortunately a select few do just that. I have been playing computer games for at least years I've been on this planet. This means I have to accept the fac that they're a part of my life.

The first games console that I played on was the ZX Spectrum which my parents bought for the christmas of 1990 ish. I remember playing a number of different games on the Spectrum, teh best of which are Postman Pat 1 and 2, Dizzy and Daley Thompsons long jumping canoeing hurdling thing. This game I particularly enjoyed since all it involved was violently pushing the joystick from side to side, which led me to believe that they were in collaboration with joystick manufacturers, since our joystick only lasted Daley Thompsons long jumping canoeing hurdling thing about the one go.

After the demise of our ZX spectrum which suspiciously coincided with the release of the sequel to Daley Thompsons long jumping canoeing hurdling thing, many new consoles had now been released, the Master System, the Mega Drive and the SNES to name but a few.

The next games console which I was given as a present from my parents was an N64, this I could play with my friends since the N64 supported up to four player split screen. I particularly like playing multiplayer Goldeneye with my friends, when released it was hailed the greatest first person shooter ever and I have to agree. The ability to have remotely controlled mines was one of the greatest aspects of the game since it usually meant that anyone playing the game would be instantly killed when they were detonated, myself included.

More recently I purchased an XBox games console which is manufactured by Microsoft. This also has a great multiplayer shooter called Halo which is probably the best game I've played on any computeror console. It has massive single player missions and many more multiplayer levels. The only thing missing from this game is the ability to destroy everything and anything using remotely controlled mines though it is still a great game.

Although video games are completely inconstructive, they are fun to play. My advice to anyone who isn't addicted to video games is take up smoking, I don't know why but everyones doing it at the moment and its got a great reputation (everyone loves a smoker).
