| A friend once told me when I met you, That loving a cowboy was hard to do, I was young then and didn't understand, I thought loving a cowboy was like loving any other man, Now through the years I've come to see, What she meant when she warned me, Baby I love you and always will, So please forgive me for what I'm about to tell, I really love you with all my heart, But the time has come for us to part, Don't get me wrong you have treated me well, For this and more I love you still, You tried real hard to understand, The bond it takes between woman and man, I know how much you love to ride, The thrill you get you cannot hide, Even still there's the lonely nights, That I go through to "make things right," That one thing I do admit, That's causing the bond between us to split, Everytime you climb on a bull, I have to worry if through it you'll pull, I just know one day you won't come through, And on that day what am I to do, How could I tell your loving son, That his loving father will never again be home, I'll miss the reanch, horses, and car, But it's you I'll miss most of all, The only thing I can truly blame, Is the damned old rodeo......it'll never change!! |
