Young People's Activities. Junior Church. The children and young people in our church join in the first part of the morning service then go out to their own classes either in age groups or all-age activities. They follow Scripture Union material. We also have a group of those who are 11+ years of age who follow their own programme. Once a month they stay to participate in our Family Service. Youth Group This is a group run on Tuesdays for young people between ages 13 � 18 years of age. It is an activity and social opportunity for youngsters to get together and meet one another in a safe and caring environment. Its popularity means that we have to restrict membership to 25 at present. Our Tuesday evenings involve activities such as two different music options � either live tuition or music technology. There is usually a cooking and craft option, film option or sports facilities. Failing that, there is the availability of a quiet room where young people can �chill out� and listen to music. We encourage young people to be able to be part of the development and planning of the club and are training some of our young people into roles of leadership themselves. Although the club is not run in the evening with a Christian focus/theme it is the understanding that it has the values and ethos of the Christian principles and leaders are encouraged to participate and value the ethos of the Christian faith. We do not discriminate against any young person who does not share our faith but we ask that they respect the beliefs and principles of our church and its building. |
