Kim and Paul, I'd like to suggest doing family stories and a game night on Thursday since there are no plans for that evening. It was nice hearing Grandma stories at the memorial and I'm sure there are more out there and about everyone else.

I second the family stories idea! My only regrets re: Chieko Harano memorials were (a) not having Gene do a Bible reading because I missed his reply and (b) not having someone tape the family stories.  Maybe one of our tech wizards would volunteer to record the new family stories, and the people with the stories on vhs would send them to that person, who would then edit them together and put them on cd. That would be excellent! Also could this site link to other family member sites? Like Katy Cunningham's band, deathmask.com, and Andrew's, skwish.com and Allen's pix of his habitat work?
Lastly, everyone should remember that Harano family reunions typically include better-than-usual weather wherever we are!

I agree that family stories is a good idea. This is a very good way to pass our unique history to the next generations, short of the written word. BudH

The North Platte Canteen is a remarkable story of how an idea to make a friend happy turned into something that the GIs passing through would remember for the rest of their life. When I moved to Rockford, I told my neighbor I was from North Platte. He said that he can still remember the sandwich and kindness at that stop. Bud
