These are my thoughts on what a good party player acts like
and how to get the most out of your party play.

Partying with someone can be a lot of fun and
add a new dimension to gameplay.
You're having to monitor yourself and your teammate(s)
at the same time.
I have played with the best party players and they
all have one thing in common: complete unselfish behavior.
Great party players don't care about who gets what kill
or who gets the first round of good equipment.
The only thing that matters is the team.
If the team does well, you do well, as everything
is divided equally.

As it happens to be..sorcerers and swordmages have some
excellent party spells.
Haste and/or displace are great to up your teammates'
powers and have you go along for the ride.
Excellent combos are SO/SM-lyc,SO/SM-paladin and to a slightly
lesser degree SO/SM-druid.
Monks at this point don't make reallly good party members,
for the same reason that Archmages don't..they do their
damage and spend their mental in too short a time to
be useful in a long run. Also, they don't really have anything
to offer to the party in the form of support spells and
unfortunately their various kicks don't give more attacks
when hasted or booned.

When it comes to effective partying, ask yourself this:
"Who benefits more from my haste..my party member or me?"
If you're partying with a lyc, you'd do best to always make sure
he/she has a haste first, and then yourself.
That way more damage is done and you get more in return.
Try to party with the same people if you can.
After a while, you'll find that you get a mutual rhytm going
and know exactly how to respond to each other.
Exploring the areas you fight in and most of all 'remembering'
them, really lets you get the most out of a party,
as you and your teammate come up with a set route to follow
and are able to stick to it.
Especially when partying with a lyc and formtime is
ticking down, it is important not to have to waste time
looking which way to go next.
I also recommend using text highlight features in mudclients
such as Zmud to show when your teammates' spells wear off,
as it is hard to see in the heat of battle.
