Top List Angels and Demons is a top novel due to the concept and theme of the book, which is the conflict of science and religion. In result of this theme the book could be considered timeless since the resolving of this conflict that has been going on for quite some time, will most likely not be over for a long time. The novel gives us historically accurate events of this conflict, for example, the novel talks of how Galileo was house arrested by the church due to his scientific ideas that did not coincide with them. Top Hero Robert Langdon, professor of religious iconology at Harvard, is by far a top hero in literature. Langdon is able to use his vast amounts of knowledge on art, religion, and symbols to amazingly solve puzzles and riddles put before him. He was able to decipher the hidden message of the hassain and discover the four alters of science and solve the Illuminati puzzle, something many others were not able to do. Top Villain Cammerlengo Carlo Ventresca is a top villain for many reasons. He found corruption in the church and saw the only way of fixing it would be threaten to destroy the Vatican, the place he was suppose to be loyal to and that was also his home. He was also a very manipulative and deceiving person. The Cammerlengo was able to make it seem like he was divinely inspired and drawn to the location of the antimatter bomb where in fact it was he who planted it there. He used his hassain to do his dirty work while he sat in the late Popes office looking innocent. Probably the best reasons he should be in the top villain category is due to the fact that he killed the Pope, the pope that cared for him while he was young and took him in, and also betrayed Langdon and Vittorias trust and just made it seem like he was helping them when really he was helping himself.
