Ostara Rising
This is my side of what is really happening on our little journey of discovery. Enjoy!
Entry for October 11, 2007

I know, I know it's been a long time, but just an update on our now boring lives!

I have a job at a womens shelter in town, I am a shelter aide.  I answer the crisis hotline and conduct intakes and departures of clients to and from the shelter as well as lots of paperwork and house cleaning chores.  I really love my job, it gives me a chance to give back to women who need help, who need to feel safe.  I hate that it has to exist, but happy that it does, because places like this are sorely needed, sadly enough.

I have also joined the unitarian universalist fellowship and made many friends.  I am singing again in the choir there and have also joined the Calliope Feminist Choir in town.  I'm so happy to be singing again!

B got a job in maintenance at an apartment complex in town and also works one day a week hiking around in the woods looking for gas lines with gps.  Not to mention that he's taking down a barn to build our house with next spring about an hour away.  Bisy backson, but that's B.

Josie is blissfully happy, she has many doggie friends she sees and plays with, i take her and out neighbors dog, Trevor, out to some hiking trails every week and they have a blast running around together.  She also enjoys our acres of land and takes every chance to be outside discovering new things.

We now have electric and water and soon we will have a dsl hookup so we can use an online phone.  We are winterizing our "house" b/c it is getting very cold and it's time.  The trees are turning and the view from our hill, which I have named Shalott (read "The Lady of Shalott" by Tennyson), is amazing with brilliant colorful hills, come and see for yourself!
