Do you use tobacco? If so, are you willing to quit?
-I do not smoke.

Do you use alcohol or other mind/mood altering substances? Which ones? How often?
-I drink alcoholic beverages occasionally. I especially enjoy a homemade brew or bottle of wine. Although I enjoy a buzz once in awhile, I'm not addicted.

What type of work are you doing now?
-I am an educated engineer, but have no desire to continue that profession. More explanation can be found on my webpage.

Where are you living? Do you rent or own your home?
-We sold most our belongings and are currently travelling around looking for a community to call home. We have no rent payments.

What diet are you used to eating or willing to eat?
-We are vegetarians who currently eat mostly vegan foods. We would love to find a community that thrives on healthy vegan meals.

Do you have any mental or physical health issues? How do you cope with them?
- No mental issues. I have no internal issues. Physically, my knees have been week for many years. The best explanation that any doctor has given me is that it's just the way I am, not a Lance Armstrong. They only get sore when a walk (or run or bike) a couple miles, and it feels good to stretch and keep them lose. They rarely bother me since I know where my limit is.

Have you had any legal issues or convictions (including outstanding issues)? For what?
-Nope.

How do you feel about living with children? Do you like children?
-I think I would enjoy having children around, but haven't been around kids since I was one. I think having a community without kids around would be incomplete.

How do you feel about living with animals?
-Beautiful. I love cats and dogs. I grew up with one dog and many cats. We have a wonderful dog now.

Have you had anyprevious community experiences?
-My former community experience is in a mainstream way. Living with my family, then college friends (4-6 guys at a time), then girlfriend (now wife) gave me much experience in living with others. I have never lived alone. Ienjoy the rich community life entwined with others. I consistently dream of the golden days in college when I lived with my friends.

Any skills/interests you have?
-My main skill is that I pick things up quickly. I hope that this will offset the fact that I know little about organic gardening and sustainable living techniques, but have a serious interest in learning.. I view this time of my life as a transition between the old me and me. I look forward to the learning curve and feel I can contribute to the community without much time or repetition. I'm good with my hands, maybe due to the fact that I grew up doing crafts, woodworking, sports, playing, landscaping, etc (little TV). I am a hard worker, efficient, thoughtful, determined and resourceful..

Any strong political/religious/dietary beliefs you hold?
-I spent most of my 20s doing variouspolitical, environmental, and vegetarian activism. You can google my name "brian wilgenbusch" and learn about some of these groups. I have lost much of my desire to change the world through activism, the clubs I've been involved with only attempted to reform the system, but I think much more is needed. Refocusing on community seems to solve many of the problems manifested in our culture. But I'm more excited to join a community to enrich my life, not to make a statement.
My wife and I no longer Christian. We mostly resonate with pagan and other earth-based religions.
We are mostly vegan. We look forward to eating an even healthier diet of localorganic vegan foods.

What you enjoy doing in your free time/hobbies?
-Now that my wife and I rejected the normal life, I look forward to more free time. I don't know what I'll do with it, though. I tend to always keep myself busy. I envision that my hobbies will change dramatically once in a rural community.
