which is always good, yeah as i may have said i dont wanna give away locations or story, as i was surprised playing through it, um yeah, i was actually writing on the previous page and totally forgot i was at the end so continued writing and lost loads of text which i cant seem to be bothered to replecate, so yo final scores- 8.0/10- though i have only been bothered to play it once, i did enjoy it.  fits well into the resident evil universe :  )
Silent Hill 3
Wow, the 3rd in the brilliant Silent Hill series (not including the directors cut of silent hill 2 and the wierd silent hill 1 book game thingy) and this time it has gone back to its roots, being very closely linked to the 1st game and all but ignoring the 2nd games plot.  For the 1st time in the series the main character is a girl- Heather whose world turns literally into a nightmare while out shopping at her local shopping centre.  As always i will humbly refrain from revealing the plot.  This time a lot of the game doesn't actually take place in the mystical Silent Hill but instead is set in an un-named town.  The style of gameplay goes back to the 1st in the series with thier being far too many monsters to kill, so evasion is usually the best course of action (at least untill you replay the game with the secret weapons)  The weapons this time are far more varied then previously, the old iron pipe and pistol of the old games reappear, but along side new weapons such as the mace, sub-machine gun, and my particular favrioute- the light saber (though not called that).  The only familier monsters are the everpresent nurses, and a reappearance of the dog monsters from the original game (though a different breed of dog monster called 'split heads')  The majority of new monsters are far more monster like then the humanoid bad guys of silent hill 2, and some are suspicisousy (agh bad spelling!) phallic looking.  Rather then have the games locations spread out across a town, this time for most the game the locations follow each other, for example Heather leaves the Shopping centre via the subway which in turn leads to the maintence tunnels.  The main aim of the game is slightly different as well, the aim for a lot of the game being simply to get home rather then finding someone (wheather that be a lost daughter or a dead wife).  There are no cut scenes in this game, instead character models are used, but they are of a very high standard, and in my mind are the most realistic people i have ever seen in a PS2 title, prehaps in any game i have played.  I do have problems with this game though, it may just be me but the gap between seeing other characters is long.  Also the game offers less replay value due to only having 3 endings compared to the other 2 games 5 and 6 endings.  The endings are stupidly hard to get as well, 6 times i have played through the stupid game only to get 6 identical endings. Anyway enough ramblings, the game has loads of secret weaponds and costumes and the music as always is ace.  The plot is very good as well, and the graphics are the best of the series, the locations are far more interesting then the bland ones of silent hill 2 mostly. And unlike resident evil 0 a lot of loose plot is tied up.  All in all a good addition to the series, more scary then the 2nd game, but that will probably always remain my favrioute, purely for the music and characters.  8.9/10     Gegorys Horror Show
Well survival horror for kids.  This is one bizarre little game, based on a Japanese cartoon.  The player controls either a boy or girl who has been trapped in a hotel owned by a creepy rat (Gregory).  To escape, the player must capture the souls of the guests staying there and trade them with Death who will release you.  Each guest requires a different method to capture thier soul, and once you have gotten the soul, for the rest of the game the guest will chase you whenever it sees you.  Soon you end up having loads of guests chasing you EVERYWHERE you go, making the game quite annoying in places.  Anyway the game is ok, and cheap, and the novel design is cool, but it is a bit boring, due to repetitive nature of the game, and relatively small game area.So overall i pronounce thee: 6.5/10
Clocktower 3
Well the first two games in this series are supposed to be bad. i dont think they were ever released in the uk, though i do have a Clocktower 1 poster on my wall in my bedroom. Anyway taking a new storyline, you assume control of a 14 year old school girl who returns home from boarding school to find her Mother missing, and a creepy man sitting in her dining room.  After searching her house for clues to her mums dissaperence (the house being a big hotel type place) Alyssa is transported back in time to the 1940's.  The game consists mainly of going to different time periods and dishing out justice to the sick serial killer who resides in each time zone.  There is no combat in the game mostly.  Whenever Alyssa encounters a serial killer she has to either hide, or run away as there are no weapons.  After solving the mystery of each time period she then has a boss fight with the zones killer, where she is provided with a magical bow.  The games lack of weapons for me, nade the game slightly boring, as i love giving pain to bad guys, but it is satisfying when you get to pass judgement on the scary killers who range from a giant with a sledgehammer to psychotic massive scissor wielding twins.  The story is interesting throughout, and it genuinly suprised me with its plot twists and relavations, and features violent cutscenes.  The music fits the game well.  Plus the game takes place in England which makes a change from americain towns in most survival horrors (eg resident evil, silent hill...um)  So overall the innovative panic meter (which i havnt mentioned) and lack of combat make this a worthy game to the survival horr genre.  7/10
Shadow of Memories
It needs to be said that a) this game features absolutly no combat, and b) has one of the most complicated but good story EVER.  The game takes place in a small European town.  It starts with a tourist 'Eike' walking down a deserted back street, suddenly there is a sound of running feet, and in a flash someone has stuck a knife into Eikes back, killing him instantly, but rather then that being game over, it is in fact the start of the story.  Eike wakes to find a mysterious voice asking him if he wants to be resurrected to before he was killed, and thus avoid his fate, he is also given a time travelling device which allows him to travel to times in the past directly related to him.  Armed with the knowledge of his death, he manages to avoid it.  As he was killed because he was on his own, he surrounds himself with a crowd.  But soon after this he is killed in a different way.  Someone wants Eike dead, the aim of the game is to learn who this person/s is and why, all the time coming up with more ways to prolong your fate, for it seems no matter what Eike does he is destined to die in that quiet town.  The games story is mind numbingly brilliant, and features 6 different endings, all offering a different version of what might have happened to Eike after the games conclusion, but which is the real one?  Anyway enough blabbering, this game has a haunting soundtrack and a braintwisting story, but if you suffer a short attention span, then it is not the game for you. It can be quite boring in places it has to be said, anyway  6/10.
Manhunt
I wasn't sure if to include this here, but its horror of a sort.  You play an American criminal who was due to be executed for unknown crimes, but instead of being killed he is knocked unconcious and wakes up in a strange room, a voice comes over a hidden intercom system telling him that basically he has to do what the mysterious person asks of him or he will be killed.  The voice is constantly giving you instructions by an ear piece the main character wears.  Anyway theres about 6 gangs in the game, each couple of levels pits you against a different gang.  The first gang is just some street hoods with simple weapons, then advances through more intelligent gangs untill you reach the final gang who hunt in groups and have automatic weapons.  The story is ok but could have been so much better, and the end of the game, as in the ending is quite poor and unsatisfying, basically the game is a stealth and hunt one, each kill you obtain is shown from the viewpoint of a security camera and are VERY bloody and violent.  Weapons range from plastic bags upto the great chainsaw : ) .  I really enjoyed playing this game, in fact i loved this game, the levels have enough variety not to get boring, and the gangs are all distinctive. The speech in the game is also very good, and funny in places, hmm...8.6/10
