Everyone knows,
eagles are born to fly.
To weight them down,
they'd soon lose
their will to survive.
Never content to keep
their feet on the ground;
eager to soar
to higher heights
they have never yet found.
When they hear the sound
of a mighty rushing wind go by,
calling them, they simply can't
resist
the urge
to spread their wings and
fly.
I am like the eagle;
born to fly.
I'll never be content
to resist the Spirit's cry.
Calling me to soar
to higher heights.
I am like the eagle;
born to fly.
To compromise
is just like clipping your wings;
weighting you down
killing the song
you were born to sing.
Close to the ground,
pollution so thick
you can't
breathe.
Here only those
who'll never grow
will remain small and weak.
Listen to the sound
of a mighty rushing
wind go
by.
Can't you hear it telling you,
"You were created
to spread your wings
and fly."
You are like the eagle;
born to fly.
You'll never be
content weighted down by compromise.
You have heard
the Holy Spirit's cry,
"Come where the air is clean."
You'll find new power
in your wings.
You are like the eagle.
You are like the eagle.
You are like the eagle;
born to fly.
Born to fly.
