As I cradled Isaac in my arms,
And, beheld such trust and terror in
his
eyes,
I tried to comfort him.
"You are the dearest thing
I have ever known.
Flesh of my flesh,
And bone of my bone.
Rest in my arms.
And, be there safely, hide,
in the shadow of Shaddai.
Don't be afraid
for you're the promise.
Only His love can be
precious guidance
given to me.
Don't be afraid.
A promise from God lies
in the shadow of Shaddai.
In the shadow of Shaddai."
El Shaddai!
His frightening holiness.
The wonderful propitiation.
When I saw that ram
caught in the thicket,
El Shaddai had again
proven Himself to me.
The God of the Covenant
had preserved the promise.
And, after my son, Isaac,
and his son, Jacob,
and Jacob's many sons,
formed the 12 tribes of Israel.
And, the children of Israel
prospered and grew
and became a mighty nation.
And, the memories of the years
of the blessings of El Shaddai
sustained them
through the hard days of
problems in Egypt.
The sons of Jacob
had gone there to feed off
of Egypt's prosperity
but had ended up becoming
their slaves.
And, as they groaned and suffered
in their slavery,
God remembered His Covenant.
And, He raised up another man
out of the desert
who would trust His promise.
