This week at
Happy Days......
Plants will be the focus of our new theme.  Through participating in this theme the children will develop an understanding of one of the cycles of nature.  The children will become aware of all the different parts of a plant as well as discover how a plant grows and what plants eat.

At Nursery:
Make a garden together.
Plant seeds and watch them grow.
Classify and sort seeds.
Investigate dried beans v soaked beans.
Lots of art related work in the art corner.

At Home:
There are many activities that you can do at home with your child to be involved.  If you have a garden then your child can help you water the plants with you, or even better why not section off a small part of your garden and grow together.
At mealtimes you can identify various parts of the plants that are eaten, for example we eat the leaves of a lettuce, the stems of celery and the root of a carrot.  Enjoy.
