Having a burning desire to write, I sat down with my journal. With pen in hand, I began to write, when I heard that still small voice whispering for me to draw a straight line across the page, putting 0 on the left end of the line and 100 on the right end of the line. Obediently, I listened, drawing the line. The Lord told me I was drawing a sin scale. Confused but intregued I continued to do what I felt the Lord giving me. He continued to explain that people, even christians, put sin on a scale ranging from small sins of wrong thoughts and gossip to the terrible sins of murder and abortion.
He instructed me to make a half circle from one end of the line to the other, and place lines from the outside edge to the center. It looked like a half of a pie cut into tiny little pieces. Starting in the area closest to 0, I wrote wrong thoughts, pride, gossip, judgemental attitude, gluteny, rebellion. Toward the middle of the chart we were getting to the more "serious" sins, I put lying, hating, not tithing, stealing and others. Closer to the 100 I wrote, prostitution, fornication, homosexuality, murder and abortion being the most serious sins. Then the Lord instructed me to turn the half circle upside down and finish the circle. I made 4 lines from the outside to the center of the circle. I wrote: Obedience, Love and Forgiveness, Repentance, Sacrifice of Praise and Salvation, between each line. Salvation was at the top and pointed to the center.
As I stopped to reflect what I was drawing, I noticed a cross in the center of the circle. The lines had connected it, forming the cross. At the center of the Cross I drew the heart of Jesus. As I outlined the Cross, the Lord told me that when people focus on the degree of sin they miss the message of the Cross. If we focus on obedience, love and forgiveness, repentance, praising God and Salvation we can enjoy the fruits of the spirit. I began to write: love, joy, peace, longsuffering and others around the outside of the circle. At the bottom of the circle where the sin was I wrote mercy, forgiveness, restoration, Victory and healing on the outside of the circle. How appropriate that those gifts of the Spirit were surrounding the sins. I then took a peice of red construction paper and covered the bottom half of the circle, covering the sin meter.
The Lord spoke, "All sin, no matter what must come to the foot of the cross in Salvation, repentance, obedience, love and forgiveness bringing the sacrifice of Praise. Under the Blood of Jesus there is forgiveness, mercy, grace, healing and victory"...which leads us, as Children of God into the Promised Land, into the fulfillment of what the Lord created us for.
Zech 3(LB) Then the Angel showed me(in my vision) Joshua the High Priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan was there too, at the Angel's right hand, accusing Joshua of many things. And the Lord said to Satan, "I reject your accusations. Satan, yes, I, the Lord, for I have decided to be merciful to Jerusalem-I rebuke you. I have decreed mercy to Joshua and his nation; they are like a burning stick pulled out of the fire" Joshua's clothes were filthy as he stood before the Angel of the Lord. Then the Angel said to the others standing there. "remove his filthy clothing." And turning to Joshua he said, "see, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes...Then the Angel of the Lord spoke very solemnly to Joshua..."If you will follow the paths I set for you and do all I tell you to, then I will put you in charge of My Temple, to keep it holy; and I will let you walk in and out of My presence with these angels...Joshua represents My servant, the Branch, whom I will send. He will be the Foundation Stone of the Temple that Joshua is standing beside and I will engrave this inscription on it...I will remove the sins of this land in a single day..."
I need to take responsibility for my own walk before I focus on yours.
Lord, I thank you for removing my filthy clothes.Thank you for Victory and Mercy..and all Your precious gifts and promises. Help me focus on my path today, putting on the Whole Armor of God...help me stand in Righteousness. Amen
