Ahh, what to say about My Chemical Romance? One of my absolute favorite bands and one of the most listened to on my iPod. I've always loved their upbeat music. The way that the guitar meshes with Gerard Way's powerful vocals is almost always wonderful. My Chemical Romance always seems to portray whatever concept or emotion beautifully in each song. Way (Vocalist and Lyricist) states that he uses many a metaphor in his songs, and that fiction can be a very good metaphor for real life. They are often labeled as "emo", a label that I most vehemently disagree with. In my opinion, "emo" music is music that is, well, emotional and whiney. And often suicidal. Excuse me if I find it hard to believe that a band that aims to comfort kids through music and features themes of perserverance in their lyrics is "emo".
