THE SEED

A seed once was sown

But fell onto the path

Right beside a small, dark crack

The seed prayed night and day

For the right gust of wind

To blow it along

The wee crack to descend

But the suns rays shone out

And almost scorched out it`s life

But the seed it hung on

Through it’s pain and it’s strife

And just when it seemed

That all hope was lost

A gust of wind blew

Down the hole it was tossed

But that was not the end

For the poor little seed

It landed upside down

In the roots of a weed

But through wind and rain

By day and by night

The seed struggled up

With all it’s might

And one summers day

The seed it broke through

It blossomed and flowered

But was crushed by my shoe.
