This is something that the Lord gave me last year, that showed me something that has become very valuable to me the last few months. Spiritual warfare is a big thing in our walk with Christ, and we need to know the key factors to fight of the enemy and to put him under our feet.

Its a constant battle, but look who we have on our side, look who is our prize!!

THE BIRDS AND THE FISH- Spiritual warfare

I was sitting by the river today, spending time with God. I was watching the birds flying over the water looking for fish to eat. I would often see the birds dive for the water, as they seen a helpless fish to scoop up and eat for lunch. You would see splashing and there was obviously a struggle to survive. The fish often won and broke free and got away.

The birds kept coming back and tormenting the fish, but the fish kept fighting back and kept winning. After a while the birds would give up and just sit by the river and watch, watch for some other helpless fish to torment and scoop up for its lunch.

Our lives are often like this. We are the fish and the birds are the enemy. For our enemy to survive he needs something to feed on, just like the birds need food to survive, but our enemy or Satan, he chooses us.

Birds need fish, and Satan needs humans, if they don't, what's the point of them being here in this world? But when the enemy fights and torments us, we need to fight back, just like the fish did. The fish knew if they gave into the birds, they would die and be no more.

The enemy in our lives may not physically kill us, but he will kill our spirit. We have to keep fighting back, stand firm on our rock, God. We need to resist the enemy, it may be a struggle, but keep fighting, don't give into him.

Once you keep fighting, keep resisting the enemy, he will give in, just like the birds did to the fish. Once he knows that we are children of the living God, he will leave us alone. He will just sit back and watch us. Either wait for us to become weak and attack again, or find some other helpless person to torment.

Remember stand firm against the enemy and fight back.
