Goddess of truth and judgement; Ma'at is commonly known as the daugher of Ra. She is sometimes the consort of Djehuty (Thoth). The very word ma'at is central in ancient Egyptian thought. It was the universal balance which kept everything from regressing into the chaotic waters of Nun. Ma'at would look over religious ceremonies and check in with mortals to make sure they lived their lives in truth.
