As a member of the Hermopolitan Ogdoad, Amaunet is the consort of Amun. Like her husband, her name means "Hidden One," only in feminine form. She and Amun have power of the forces of all that is not seen; she is also the goddess of the northern wind. Amaunet is one of the many guardians of the pharaoh.
