Wish of the Trustees

The South Indian Education Society is doing a great service to the residence of Navi Mumbai. The society which is running a major academic Institution in situated at Nerul, Navi Mumbai. To inspire the students of the Institution to aspire for something great the trustees had consecrate Lord Hanuman in the Academic complex.

Lord Hanuman is known for his eloquence, courage, physical strength, bold, and fearless and embodiment of all these qualities. Hence modern youth and students seek his blessings to achieve things and obtain the goal they are pursuing. Therefore it was most appropriate to have decided upon having the Lord Hanuman consecrate at the complex.

Blessings of Sri Sri Acharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam

Once the trustees decided to consecrate Lord Hanuman in the complex, they sought the blessings of Sri Sri Acharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. With the blessings of the Sri Sri Acharya, the selection of granite stone was done and the work for sculpturing the Lord was entrusted to "Silpa Kalamani" M.Muthiah Sthapathi from Chennai. He is famous and renowned sculptor who had many carving of granite stone idols to his credit. Sculpturing of the Lord Hanuman as per the shilpa shastras took one year for him to complete. After sculpturing the idol, it was moved from Chennai to Nevi Mumbai by road. The idol was then weighed fifty five tons.

Lord Bhakta Hanuman's beauty

The thirty-three feet idol of Lord Hanuman stands on a lotus pedestal, with hands folded in prayer, eyes are seen in meditation. He wears kundalam in ears, keuryaha (armlet), three kankanas (bangles), thandai in His lotus feet. His lankulam (tail) is seen resting on the ground giving a picture of a perfect pious person thou highly talented in all qualities. Who else could be an exemplary for "Vidya dathaathi vinayam" for the youth of today who are studying in this complex. Since the Lord is seen in this posture He is known as "Sri Bhakta Anjaneya" here.

Consecration of Lord Bhakta Hanuman

Maha Athirudram and Chandi yagnam was performed from 26th January 2000 and the thirty-three feet idol of 'Lord Hanuman', was consecrated by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jagath Guru Sri Jayendra Saraswati Sankaracharya Swamigal, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jagath Guru Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal on Feruary 9, 2000 at the Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Vidyapuram, Nerul.

On the same day an idol of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jagath Guru Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swamigal was also consecrated by Sri Sri Acharyas, in the same complex.

Silver Kavacham for the Lord

Temple for the Lord Anjaneya had been built after the Lord Hanuman had stood in open for some time. After that a small temple for Lord Rama and his parivara and sannadhi for Lord Ganesha was also built within the vicinity of the Lord Hanuman in this complex.

Silver Kavacham adornment for this Bhakta Anjaneya was performed in the benign presence of His Holiness Jgadguru Sankaracharya of Kanch Kamakoti Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal on 28th of December 2000.

Sannadhi for Lord Siva and Kamakshi

The Trust then built a separate sannadhi for Lord Siva with sixteen pillars in which are embossed with the figure of Lord Ganesha in different posture. The sannadhi in serine atmosphere is a lovely place to do meditation. Recently on 19th of Febuary 2006 Godess Kamakshi was consecrated in the complex by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jagath Guru Sri Jayendra Saraswati Sankaracharya Swamigal.

Management of the temple

Today the "Sri Bhakta AAnjaneya Trust" manages the affairs of the temple. Daily pujas and aradhanas are performed by the temple priest as per vaikanasa agama vedi. Devotees can offer for the Vadamalai, butter alankaram performed to the Lord.

Functions in the temple and social activates of the Trust

The society had been doing a great service by offering scholarship for deserving candidates. They are running a hostel for old age people. For the benefit of people vedic classes are also being conducted in the evening time.

Sri Rama Navami, Sri Hanuman Jayanthi are celebrated very grandly by the trust. Jayanthis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jagath Guru Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swamigal, Sri Jayendra Saraswati Sankaracharya Swamigal, and Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal are also celebrated with chanting of vedic parayanam etc.
