Well, as usual, nothing goes as You plan they should. This is just what happened to me.
In the beginning of August 2001, we were with a friend of mine, again, searching some stuff to our beetles from swap in Kouvola, Finland. Weather was horrible, as it allways is, when I end up buy a car. Morning seemed to be marvelous, but after couple of hours, it started to rain. We decided to leave the swap, and go back home. Well, as You might guess, we didnt end up home, but after few steps (that I rather leave without explains)I had quite nice 66 type 1 at my carage...
Theres 4 years and 25000 km between these 2 pics...last 2 years have been so easy to own reliable beetle, just pressure in the tires and gas into tank...and ofcourse few oilchanges....
Well, as usual, I dont do anything without "f**ing the spot", as my friends allways say: 2 weeks under, inside and above this car throuhg nights after dayjob made it possible to drive it to inspector...left handbrake, 1 backlight and drivelights didnt please the inspector, so he said that hey boy, nice car You have, but these should be fixed before i can give U a stamp in your registerpapers...So, i went and bought new shorter handbrakewire, adjust the front lights, and fixed the backlight during weekend.. Next monday the car was finally in legal state, and i could start enjoying the "fruits" of this hobby...
front end is slammed.. interior is cleaned..(all floormats are in perfect condition!!), only drivers backreast is miserable, everything else is ok! charger and starter engine are changed.. sparkplugs are changed.. new 6 v battery is bought. American Eagle 5-spokes were installed with 145/195 wheels etc.. During winter 2002-2003 i fixed the front of the car: both fenders and "hood" were changed and painted, and i was supposed to change the rear fenders too, but i had no effort to do it. and those fenders are still unchanged in my garage..
