KibagamiKuno: having already been in towns near the capital, would i know any
better of wise places to visit?
Hantei Dave: probably. Bigger temples here
Hantei Dave: but you aren't a very spiritual perosn you know
KibagamiKuno: i know. but i am familiar with meditation, and i figure that is needed
for wisdom.
Hantei Dave: walking off from the others?
KibagamiKuno: no, i'm thinking about what i know from previous visits to the north
hub and the capital itself.
Hantei Dave: there are definitly more spiritual places here of all
sorts
Hantei Dave: to the kami's, ancestors, emporor, buddha, etc
KibagamiKuno: are there any associated with lion or akodo?
Hantei Dave: yes
Hantei Dave: temple of Akodo
KibagamiKuno: good, i'll start there.
Hantei Dave: not reall IN this village but an easy walk
KibagamiKuno: we have 2 days
Hantei Dave: one hour ^_^
KibagamiKuno: ok, i take a 1 hour walk, and try to confuse the first priest enough
that he lets me talk to someone further up)
KibagamiKuno: with a bit more experience.
Hantei Dave: you enter to temple of Akodo
Hantei Dave: called the Temple of Ancestors
Hantei Dave: ask exactly
KibagamiKuno: "Good day, I am of Akodo, I seek healing of the soul, dark scars
from battles with our enemies. Whom should i speak with?"
Hantei Dave: The high monk with a scar down his forhead
volunteers his service
KibagamiKuno: If i have not already done so, i leave all my weapons (save the
tanto) with one of his minions
Hantei Dave: minions? lol. you are tainted
KibagamiKuno: Then i ask if we can speak in relative (translation: he can have
guards,whatever if he likes) privacy
Hantei Dave: he takes you somewhere quiet
KibagamiKuno: I explain to him my troubles - that during a battle protecting the
palace from a re-awakened foe, i received a scar that has festered, not on the surface
but within. My friends whom i was travelling with believe that I have contracted an
illness. It is an illness that makes me stronger, that better aids me in my fight against
our adversaries...[more]
Hantei Dave: "I know your ailment"
KibagamiKuno: but it is an illness all the same, and for me to be an honrable fighter,
i must fight free from it.
KibagamiKuno: what must i do to be rid of it?
Hantei Dave: "There is no freedom of it...There is only the Lost.
Drink this."
Hantei Dave: He begins mixing a tea
Hantei Dave: He pours jade powder into it.
KibagamiKuno: What is the Lost which i will face?
Hantei Dave: "Drink. I was once inflicted. That is why I am
here now. To spend out my days."
Hantei Dave: "The lost are those that have fallen far. They fight
until they die. They have no other reason."
Hantei Dave: "The Kuni Witch Hunters lead them against
demons."
Hantei Dave: "drink"
KibagamiKuno: I do not wish to spend out my days here - i am samurai and i fight.
If i must carry this burden to fight tomorrow, then that i must do. If you can offer me
to fight tomorrow but free of this ailment, then i will drink"
Hantei Dave: "I cannot give you freedom. Only momentary
breaks."
KibagamiKuno: what help will the break be if it is only momentary?
Hantei Dave: "It will clear your thoughts...and blood...and
soul."
KibagamiKuno: Then i will drink.
Hantei Dave: you drink and a pain runs through you that
brings you to your knees
Hantei Dave: you see the veins in your wrist turn green
Hantei Dave: you feel weaker than you did when the pain
passes but you feel purer than you realized you would
KibagamiKuno: "You are wise indeed - i see clearer again"
Hantei Dave: May you find peace
KibagamiKuno: "THis is a momentary break, how do i prevent succumbing again?"
Hantei Dave: "This I do not know. I pray to Akodo that he
watches me and I feel his eye upon me."
KibagamiKuno: "Then i shall do as you do, and return often to pay homage to this
path you have set me on"
Hantei Dave: bows
KibagamiKuno: "Thank you for all you have done for me"
