Doji Satsume - The former Daimyo of the Crane Clan and Doji Family until he advanced to the highest position in Rokugan beneath the Emporor himself, The Emerald Champion. His son Hoturi has now been left in charge (even though Satsume feels his son is a weakling). Satsume was recently killed during the Scorpion Clan Coup. Noone hold the rank of Emerald Champion now.
Doji Hoturi - Current Daimyo of Crane Clan and the Doji Family, son of Doji Satsume. Hoturi is an master of flair. His dueling skills were taught by the greatest iaijutsu master in Rokugan, Kakita Toshimoko. Hoturi now seeks to bridge the gap between the Crane and Lion Clans through his friendship with General Akodo Toturi, much to his Satsume's dismay. Hoturi's life has recently changed drastically. His father, Satsume and illigitimate son, heir to the Scorpion Daimyo, were killed during the Scorpion Clan Coup.
Kakita Yoshi - Current Daimyo of the Kakita Crane Family. Yoshi is considered the greatest diplomat. His mastery over the courts is compared with a master duelist's control over his students which is appropriate since his brother, Kakita Toshimoko, is the foremost duelist.
Kakita Toshimoko - Greatest duelist in the Empire. From a young age, people knew that he would live up to his father, Toshimo, and his skills. In fact, they called him little Toshimo (Toshimoko), a name that has stuck. Although now an old man, Toshimoko still teaches his students with vigor. Foremost is his pupil Hoturi, the Daimyo of the Clan and long-time friend. His brother, Yoshi, provides him with the leeway needed to shirk many clan duties.
