The Cassiar Mountains, Nothern British Columbia and the Yukon has to offer one of the most beautiful Mountain Ranges in the World. Hunting, Fishing and other outdoor activities are for the outdoor enthusiasts.
Andrea and I made it to our tradition to cut our Christmans Tree every year.
"Dutches" our German Sheppard was always a good companion even in the harshest of winter.
The Austrians, Robert and Gertrud Martchin  were our next door neighbors and our friends as well. Renate and Gertrud cooked two Turkeys for Christmas and we invited all the German speaking population for Christmas Dinner.

In May of 1977, Alf Guderjahn and I went on one of our many flights with the Aronca Chief. While cruising over the lakes and rivers we had engine proplems and had to land on the road that leads into Cassiar. Alf made a save landing with an engine that is seizing up. That was the end of flying for some time until the engine was repaired again.

One month after our escapade my brother Juergen came to visit us in Cassiar. We went to Whitehorse for a few days and learned about the 1896 "Klondike Gold Rush."
Juergen enjoyed his time in the north with our friends in cabins at the lake. He also has been introduced to fishing and flying in the Cassiar area.

When Juergen had left, our next visitors from Germany came. Since we lived in the north and they came to Calgary, Werner picked up his brother Kurt Martin and his sister-in-law Else Martin. Renate's parents. Werner and his entire family took this chance to go to the north and dropped off Renate's parents in Cassiar. Alf Guderjahn invited them all to his cabin to spend some time at the lake.
Renate's parents and all of us went in our truck and travelled the Yukon all the way into Dawson City. Here we visited the Klondike Gold Fields and all the points of interest that the Yukon had to offer.
