Bop Magazine Interview
8/1/99 (Bop Magazine)

Tell us about the new album you're working on.

Isaac: Well, all I can tell you at the moment is that we have completed about 25 songs, which we have written. We have been talking to producers over the last several weeks, and its possible we could start recording as soon as three weeks from now.

Is there any song that jumps out as your favorite?

Taylor: There are a lot of very neat songs. Each one has its own flavor to it. We're just really excited over all of the album.

Have you had any interesting experiences that inspired you to write these songs?

Isaac: Well, actually, we have. But I probably wouldn't comment on them until the record came out because the songs really describe (these experiences) very well.

Uh, mystery! Okay, so tell us, how have you changed since you became famous?

Taylor: Well, I have grown a few new body parts! Just kidding! I don't really think I have changed.

Have you guys gotten any different looks, like tattoos, piercing or haircuts lately?

Taylor: We haven't done any freaky, weird changing-of-faces or something like that. But I did get an earring, a cartilage piercing up on the top of the ear. And everybody has just grown a little bit, voices have dropped a little bit. Besides that, we're the same guys.

So you've all grown, of course. How tall are you now?

Isaac: I'm 5-foot-10, Taylor is 5-foot-10, Zac is about 5-foot-6.

What is it like when you are not on tour?

Zac: Well the other day we were at the Alanis Morissette show, sitting there going "Gosh, I want to be on tour," watching her. You realize how awesome it is to be performing on stage. Even though sometimes it's tiring, it's really, REALLY fun.

Do you guys feel a lot of pressure to follow up the success of
Middle of Nowhere

Isaac: I don't really feel like there's a lot of pressure. We're just going forward. (We're) going to do this record and do it to the best of our ability and hope everyone responds real well to it.

Do you have a message for your fans who are waiting anxiously to see you again?

Zac: As far as a message, it would probably go like this: (in a deep, deep voice) "Fans, I am sorry it's taken so long to come out with a second album."

You're funny. So when can we expect this album?

Isaac: We're thinking October. However, that may change.

All right, we'll just have to wait. Thank you so much, guys!
