Screaming Fans Wait For Hours to Get Into Hanson Concert

More than 500 screaming, sobbing fans -- mostly adolescent girls -- packed Merle Hay Mall to see Hanson, the trio of teenage brothers promoting their new album,
This Time
Around.
Some arrived as early as 6 a.m. for the Tuesday afternoon concert, hoping to be among the first 107 in line to get a wristband allowing them to meet the band.
"We waited seven hours," said Renee Oehlerking, 14, of Des Moines.
Hanson -- Isaac, 19, Taylor, 17, and Zac, 14 -- became a hit in 1997 with their first album,
Middle of
Nowhere, which included the pop song
"MMMbop".
